Does anyone know what kind of paint works best for plastic masks(the kind you'd get at a craft store)? I've decided to go ahead and do the masquerade ball thing, and I'd hate to get it painted just right only to have it chip off at the slightest breeze or something. sweatdrop

Model paint or regular tempra paint? I believe that's what I used on my masquerade mask at Sakura Con 2006.

"Hey guys. I need some help for my cosplay for Otakon next year/Halloween. Okay so, I'm going to be Sander Cohen from Bioshock, and I need to make a mask for three guys so they can lie down and pretend to be dead while I take their picture. The only problem is I ahve NO CLUE what I should do for the mask. Its a masquerade mask. I was going to papermache it but IDK >_>; Anyone have nay thoughts/tips for me?"

I'm working on the mask right now. The eyes are giving me some problems though: I just realised I made the right one bigger than the left. rolleyes
@ Summer: A dead looking masquerade mask? Well, maybe you could get a white mask and paint darker circles around the eyes? Half mask or full mask?

Today was Gasukan 9.0; I'll be writing up my reaction post and posting the pictures I took to my cosplay LJ & photobucket. I can't wait to see pictures from the other photogs there. xD

@Anon: Drawing on it with a Sharpie wouldn't work very well. You could
try painting it, but I think it would look best to attatch something to the wig
to make the antennae, which you could do by clipping it in, or hand sewing
it to the wig itself. I am now an expert on getting soaked in cosplay. At last August's
Gasukan, I was convinced to go wading at the beach as Yukito. Then at an
attempted cosaply gathering a week later, I stood in the rain for three
hours without an umbrella while dressed as Mello. On Saturday it was
raining a bit and I started splashing around in a puddle as Demyx. Then
yesterday Rose and I were doing a private Death Note shoot and I fell in a
fountain, and decided that since I was already soaked from the waist down
I might as well get shots next to the waterfalls.Teaser shot from yesterday's shoot!

A bunch of my friends are going to Onicon, too. Hopefully, they'll be getting a reservation at the hotel next door for the whole of the weekend. They're planning to rent one hotel room and just stuff everybody in it. XD I'm saving up money to pay for my ticket right now. I need $15 more if I plan to stay for the whole 3 days and also I need to get some money to pay for my part of the hotel room if I'm able to stay with my friends. So, yeah, I'll be trying to make as much money as possible before the convention. I have until the end of November, which is good.
I only have the shirt and shoes for my cosplay so far. Which isn't good. I think the most expensive thing would be the top hat. -sighs- I probably have to pay for it if it is. >>;;
