"Where Ai've been don'ta mean notin'. I've got tree Kay-tees o' mats for yah tah pick up. Ship's named," Xan started, as he looked to the ship's designation. "The Akeeya. The crew'll be unloadin' 'er now. I'm off teh te cantina. I'll be back in about... tree hours, 'less yed need somtin' else."

"I might take you up on that. Haven't worked out in a while" Gairus got back to mopping. He had just finished cleaning the hub, and decided moved on to the lavatories.Hopefully no clogged toilets. Gairus said to himself.

"Alrit', but dun say I dun do notin' for yah," Xan replied. He turned to the crew, a wicked smile crept across his face. "Alright! Get dem trucks a loa' up an' o'er to mah shi', da Ruusan."

"We don't have to listen to you," one started up.

"Yah unloadin' dem crates, no? Yah tryin' to unpack te cargo? Just put 'em in te trucks. I'd be a drivin' 'em o'er. Tink of it tis way, you unload tis into te truck, I don't put yeh braves in'teh slammah. 'less yeh wanna gamble for it?"

"No way sucker, I'm not listening to someone other than the boss." Xan wasn't exactly enthralled by this steadfast rebellion. He fiddled with a pouch on his waist, and pulled out a small card.

"Know what tis is?" He asked, letting the young lad inspect the card.

"It's a sabaac card. Rather thick too. So what?" Xan placed the card back in the deck, and held it up to the young lad.

"Take one, but remember: Playin' for keeps is still playin', Mon Brave, so take a card...ANY CARD. Eventually, one of you mooks is gonna realize not to play sabaac wit' me, 'cause my hand will always win th' pot!" With that, he picked a card from the deck. In a swift motion, he placed a small charge on the back and tossed the card, as it lit up in a small explosion. A simple parlor trick, but one of his favorites. "Now, are yeh ready to pick a card, or will yeh load up the trucks and delivah te goods? O' shou' I be lettin' yeh play 88 card pickup?"

~~~~~
It wouldn't take long for Xan to talk the crew into being more helpful. They came to see the reason of loading the trucks and delivering even two one-kiloton crates over to the Ruusan. They had more to pick up, and the use of the orange Akk Dog helped too. Turns out many fringers get scared of an orange beast with razor sharp claws and teeth charging at them that is resistant to blaster fire. Still, in spite of a few brown spots in their trousers, the space hands were rather happy they got off. Apparantly the customs agent was quick to come by to bust them for illegal pharmaceuticals on board, although with the last of the trucks headed for Xan's current carrier, they had nothing to really charge them on.
"Hay Jag? Tey'd be on teh way."
"Good. Leave the Loading to us. We'll be done in a few hours."
Jag switched frequencies to that of Kalin's comlink.
"Kalin, we got cargo. Get your a** up and on the tractor beams. We've two cargo containers we need to strap on. Have Blikk work the cargo clamps for you if he's capable. And I dont want so much as a scratch on those containers."
As he spoke, the trucks showed up to drop off the cargo. Jag guided them to where they could unload and Hans and Frans immeidately stalked forward and started hefting pallets and crates of Pharmaceuticals.
Tabula was tired, she'd been running for what seemed like hours. The guy on her tail was tenacious indeed but what else did she expect from Black Sun? She had lost the thug a couple of times but he always found her, it reminded her of a dangerous game of cat and mouse.
'I cant keep this up for long,' Tabula thought, 'I need someplace to hide now.' and then Tabula saw it, a spaceport.
'I can hide in there!' she thought again and ran through the entrance and searched for a place to hide, meanwhile the Black Sun thug was right behind her.
Tabula winded her way through some corridors and found a hangar with a large ship being loaded with cargo.
'Perfect,' Tabula thought 'now to get in there without being seen.' A large man man was infront of the ship but looked too concerned with the trucks coming and going to notice anything else. Tabula looked behind her and saw the thug again,
'I have to make this count!' The small girl ran through the doorway keeping low to the ground and near the trucks for cover, and when she saw her opportunity she rushed to the landing gear and climbed up it into the ship where noone could see her. Meanwhile the thug came through the doorway looking to see where the girl had gone.
"I vin again!" Mareal shouted, excited that she was winning the pot. "It is time for me to pull out, boys."
The men were rather angry. Several stood up, one or two began to crack their knuckles.
"Missy, you didn't lose a single hand. Play some more, or me and my buddies are going to have to turn you in for cheatin'," the Duros said flatly.
"I don't vant any trouble, but you lost dee credits fair und square. I must be off now, it's been vunderful," Mareal responded. She didn't want to shed any violence if she could, as she reached out with the Force ever so slightly, hoping to calm the men down.
"I don't think you understand, little girl. Nobody wins twelve straight games without cheatin', especially when they just walk in and play."
"Maybe I'm just lucky?"
"Nobody's that lucky, dearie," the Duros stated. Mareal reached out to sense what to do, but she wouldnt' dare open fire first. Not until the fools made their move first. At least she was humanoid; aliens rarely held home-field advantage in this era.
A pazaak den was becoming harder and harder to find these days; Sabaac seemed far more the rage at least in terms of cards. But a generic casino was usually harder to find for Xan compared to a game in a Cantina. The other reason he sought a watering hole was just for that reason too. He needed a drink, and his flask of Ol' Janx Spirit had just been tapped dry, much to his own personal dismay.
"One bottl' o' Janx, 'keep," He muttered, as the grizzly human went to satiate the order. The atmosphere was less than desirable, more like a ghetto shamble filled with the smell of bad booze and horrid aftertaste of alien stenches. Xan was none-too-pleased at the place, but at least the bottle which came back was fresh..... for a joint like this.
"Know an' 'zaak dens 'round 'ere?" Xan asked, as he topped up the flask, and looked around a bit more.
"Not really any dedicated ones, sir. Mighty strange accent you got there, too. Where you from?" The keeper asked.
"Fondor. Toh, if yah like..." He gave a cough and reset his throat, "I can speak without it. Rather prefer the formal talk for formal negotiations and litigations made upon the potential parties."
"Wierd," The tender said, before he was drawn away for another customer. Xan didn't mind; it was getting harder to keep up his native accent anyway, the more he spoke the casual one. The quiet tones were growing louder and louder from one secluded corner of the room, something about sabaac. Xan swiveled in his chair, and watched the scene unfold.
"'retty lady gonna get 'er hide flayed wit tat attitude," he chuckled to himself, as a tap on his shoulder made him break eye contact with the scene.
"Excuse me, are you Xan Rood?" A burly Ubese stated, as Xan looked him right in the eye.
"Who'd be a askin'?" Xan said, with little effort. He was caught off guard, though. It shouldn't have been that hard to notice someone like this.
"You're making this too easy," the Ubese stated, as his hand went to his side. Xan automatically reacted with a punch to the face, at least, an attempt to, as the Ubese caught it. The weight toppled them both over, knockign another client and his drink, as the noise around the bar increased. The outraged Zelosian, whos drink was spilled, decided to split the two up. In the scuffle, the Ubese reached for his own blaster, but was bumped off his shot from behind by a stool from the said Zelosian.
"A goo' o' fashion bah fight," Xan stated, falling to the ground to crawl away.
Mareal didn't want to fight. But the blaster fire from the main bar scared the other four players to reach for their hips. Extending her hands, Mareal felt the light weight of her two hidden Q2s in her wrist pop into her hands and fired in sequence at the men's blasters, knocknig them out as quickly as possible. She tapped into the Force, so even as they pulled their second hidden weapons, she was able to move fast enough to blast them out too. Not even a wound on their hands, she didn't want to aim to kill.
"Be careful now, bye bye!" She said, wanting to use the commotion as a time to escape. Seeing the three men fight, Mareal ran for them, as use as a barricade as fast as she humanly could. A flash of danger warned her as she dodged aside, as a bottle flew through the air.
"Watch out!" She cried, though the patron wasn't quick enough to dodge like she was. "I tried to warn you."
As more people came to help break up the fight, she found herself ducking from an elbow, and falling to the ground to push herself past some of the patrons. A man was crawling along the ground, as she picked him up as she lifted herself up, and pulled him along.
"Come with me," she said, dashing out the door with new baggage.
After swabbing the lavatories, Gairus moved on to the infirm to continue his work. While this work was boring, Gairus was dead set on making a good first impression.
"I'm sure that we can get you a job, even if not as a pilot. Least its a way off planet." Giving a short sigh he stood up and stretched, letting out a yawn and itching the top of his head.
"Always take rest when you can get it they tell you. We should be in Worlport by late evening, til then, I'ma find myself a corner to nap in." With that he went off, the ferry didn't supply cabins, but it had enough room to give its few passengers area to relax in, so he laid back on a bench and set his bag behind his head, shifting its inners so that he could put his head against something soft.
By the time his chronometer beeped noon, he was gone, dreaming of the stars that he longed for once more.
A sudden hand picking him up, Xan felt light for a very short while as he followed the voice above him guide him out the door. Taking to full stride run, he could hear the Ubese swear and curse, clearly frustrated that his 'prey' had gotten away. About twenty strides into the run, he turned to look at the woman, a familiar face from before. Still, a straight line was not the best way to lose somebody, as he searched for a way to turn.
"This way," he shouted, grabbing her arm and darting to the left.
"This way," he said again, darting to the right. He gave a whistle, calling for his orange Akk Dog to come to him. The beast would be able to sniff him out sooner or later, but angry hunters rarely let their prey run without giving some sort of chase.
"So," he began to say between breaths, "Whydcha.. save... meh... a**?"
Daco here.
"Kalin, we got cargo. Get your a** up and on the tractor beams. We've two cargo containers we need to strap on. Have Blikk work the cargo clamps for you if he's capable. And I dont want so much as a scratch on those containers."
Watching the droids load things, he shouted at them and started directing the stacking for optimal space.
"She's gotta be here somewhere..." The thug said through his teeth as he entered the hangar searching for Tabula.
