Hienoa kuulla, että joku pitää suomen kielestä ja täytyy sanoa, että olen enemmän kuin onnellinen, että se on äidinkieleni (yksi vaikea kieli vähemmän opeteltavaa).

I know I haven't posted in a while, but I'm trying to revive my guild-activity.
Täällä onkin ihmeen paljon suomalaisia biggrin . Ei monet sitten pyöri Chatterboxin suomi-threadissa!
But yeah, I love Finnish too, and especially the dialect I speak. <3

Sori, Olin niin hyper eilen. sad Mut, joo... Mäkin on onnellinen että suomea on sun äidinkielesi. Mun suomen kieleni on huono...huono kuin paska...

@Jazzy: When you're talking about Finnish as a language it's suomi; Suomi on sun äidinkieles..
And when it's meant to be like "I speak Finnish" then it conjugates (?) into suomea. surprised Minä puhun suomea.
My boyfriend made the same mistake when he started studying :3
And another thing. You said that "I, too, is happy" (minäkin on onnellinen). If you'd used 'oon' instead of 'on' then it would be correct, "I, too, am happy". 'Oon' is the spoken version of 'olen'.. But yeah. Could be a simple typo for all I know :3

Doppelgaanger I'm attempting to learn Fininsh, but I get hung up on the sounds... D: i tend to teach some of my foreign friends to speak finnish with the help of japanese. xD since my foreign friends also know some japanese, and finnish can be pronounced a little bit the same way as japanese is. Finnish is pronounced as it is written.

Eee, Finnish! I really want to learn it, but it's so difficult to find any resources for it - I live in New Zealand, and there's only a very very small Finnish community (in fact, I've never met a Finnish person before in real life...). Does anyone have suggestions on how to start? I read a lot of your posts and try to recognise little words, seeing as I have no real course to take at the moment, or I listen to 'Suomirock'...
