Sola Catella Salvete, pueri et puellae! Meum nomen est Sola Catella, et sum nova in foro. Sum in meus duo anuus latinae. Id est magna jocus! ego amo linguam Latinam quae es melior quam omnem alliarum linguarum. Hello, boys and girls! My name is Sola Catella, and I am new in the forums. I am in my second year of latin. That is a great joke! I love the latin language which is better than all of the other languages. I hope that's what you're trying to say. If so, only thing I found wrong was alliarum. I thought that was of garlics at first because you typed two 'l's but I'm sure that was a typo. Other than that, it was good. Very easy to understand. as to memorizing qui, quae, quod and hic, haec, hoc...I just wrote them down over and over and said them aloud until I memorized them. Did you guys have to recite "Gallia est omnis divisa in partes tres...."? I still know some of that. I don't remember what comes after the part about all their languages, laws, and institutions being different from each other.

Thanks! Whoops, sorry I made the mistake with alia; we haven't covered it in-depth yet.
I've almost got qui, quae, quod and hic, haec, hoc down completely, but I still have the occasional trouble with remembering nominative plurals, but I have the accusiative down now. Guess it's time for more rote memorization for me.

A while back in latin, we had a free period, so we decided to translate the Frosted Flakes jingle into latin. I forget how it goes, and our cases were off, but it went something like, Frosted Flakes, sunt plus quam bene, sunt magna. Thats probaly totally off, but we did it in like 2 minutes.

I have a running project in my mind to translate 'Are you sleeping' into Latin, only I can't remember the third line so it's probably doomed.

National Latin Exams are coming up! I'm going to take mine in a week. Is anyone else planning to take them? Last year I won a medal for mine.

I hope you did okay! I take mine tomorrow. I need to go study right now. I got a silver medal first year, a gold last year, and now every one in Latin at school is expecting me to get a gold again. I've got a JCL planning meeting this Sat. for state convention! I'm so excited! I love my fellow state officers. When are you're state conventions? I know some schools have them closer to the beginning of the school year.

I'm going to cram for mine tomorrow night. I got a silver last year, and I tend to miss about three or so on the practice ones we've been taking, so I need to make sure to check my work on the exam on Wednesday. I'm so nervous!
I hope you did well, Saxophonicus! My Latin teacher is planning on having us remember our answers so that we can go over the test after we've taken it, so I'll know how I did shortly after I take the test (as my Latin class period is directly after the one during which we will test).

So I took the exam today and I think I did okay! Probably not good enough to get a gold, but a silver wouldn't be out of the question.
I read through the first year exam when I was done because I work with the first years that hour. It was so funny after the test. We got back to the Latin room and they all started asking me questions "Who did blah blah?" "What was the answer to so and so?"
Funny thing, that happened in my Adv. Latin class, too.
I can't wait to find out in Apr. how I did.

Oh, I'm going to take it in an hour! Mr. Kelsh is having us write down the answers as we take it, and afterwards we're going to go over it and see how we did. whee I get to miss 1st period to take it (because all the years are taking it simultaneously, and for that matter all of the people taking the test for any language) and then I get to go to Latin for second period and see how I did. I'll tell you when I get back!

Apparantly, we find out how we did on Monday. I'm worried again; I only missed one or two (I know I missed one, think I may have missed another) and I really want a gold this year. And we find out early for pretty much the same reasons as Inconspicuously me.
