Hjarn was wrenched out of her mind by the snapping of twigs far below. Hmmm, a visitor... She thought to herself. Finally, something to terrorize.
She leapt down from branch to branch until she landed nimbly on the leafy ground. Her sharp purple spikes digging deep into the dirt to keep her balance. She had managed to land within feet of the other demon, a dark female who, Hjarn thought with satisfaction, actually looked like she might have a little fight in her.
"Hello."

Blackheart looked as a demon landed right next to her. Her eyes scanned up and down before finally resting on the face. "Hello." She said back. So, there had been someone out there all along.

Hjarn smiled cruelly and circled her prey. "What are you doing in my woods little girl? Didn't anyone ever teach you not to go into dark places all alone?" She chuckled and raked one of the nearby trees with her shoulder spikes, simply enjoying the sound it made as the wood splintered.

'Little Girl'? Blackheart just shook that off. "Your woods are they? Dark places are my home." She said after a moment. She would go wherever she wanted. It didn't matter to her if they were owned or not.

Hjarn came to a stop in front of her and nodded. "Yes, my woods. And as far as dark places being your home, that's all fine and dandy. But this is my home. So you need to ask permission before entering." She swished her tail about in the dust at her feet, causing a cloud to rise up and swirl around them.

Blackheart watched the other demon for a moment. "Ask persmission. Why? It is made of gold or something?" She then looked back at the woods. They just looked normal woods to her. Nothing to get too exciting or too worked up about. Did that mean she was going to leave? No. Was she going to ask permission? No.

Hjarn sighed sarcastically and dug her claws deeper into the earth. "Gold? I don't believe so. But, I'm afraid you've got yourself in quite the predicament. You see, I can't just let you leave. What kind of example would I be setting to future trespassers? And since you clearly won't ask my permission to use my woods, the only option left to us is going to result in physical violence." She smirked and flicked her tail in excitement. "Not that I mind."

Blackheart shook her main. "Really? That's the only thing that can happen now. That is slightly sad. Such a mundain thing, physical violence." She didn't move however. She was one to talk, but fighting, that wasn't for her.

Hjarn scoffed and stomped her foot. "Mundane? Oh you poor thing. It is possibly the only joy in life." She grinned evily and winked. "If you're good at it that is."

"I'm afraid I must disagree with you there. I guess we are at an impass. For the moment." Blackheart wondered how long she could talk before the other famale finally charged her. She really didn't want to get her claws dirty. It was a waste of time to her.

Hjarn sighed in disapointment. Another let down. She really needed to find a demon that would fight her. Joxer was at least something... but he was a stupid little pip-squeak and while it was fun to push him around for a little while, it got boring fast.
Oh, well. Maybe a physical fight wasn't in the future, but at least she could still give her wicked tongue a work out. "I suppose so." She sat back on her haunches and absentmindedly began sharpening her nails on a nearby rock. She loved that shrill squeaking noise. "Well then trespasser. Do you have a name?"

Blackheart was not sorry she couldn't comply. "Well, I guess I could give it. I'm Blackheart. And you mighty keeper of the woods would be? Woody?" She snorted a chuckle.

She smiled and nodded her head thoughtfully. "Hmmm, Mighty Keeper of the Woods. I could get used to that." She chuckled and tossed her mane from her eyes. "Nice meeting you Blackie." She winked, "Well, not really. I'm called Hjarn."

Blackheart thought about that for a moment. It was a very different name to her. Then again the group she came from were all originally 'heart'. "Does that mean something?"

Hjarn shrugged and leapt up into a low hanging branch, sprawling out and letting her tail hang down, swaying slowly back and forth. "It's another word for frozen snow. From the language of a vicious warrior people who lived long ago." She smiled and tossed her mane. She was very proud of her name.
"What about yours, Blackie?" She nodded at the hearts on her face and back. "There a reason for those oh so adorable little hearts?" she asked sardonically with a cocky smirk.
