Karite now laid on the ground his silver eyes glazed over. The boy had managed to catch his breath but he had been defeated on a level his body could not handle. Right now he would need to rest. Yuki Sensei had caused Damage to him in more ways then just the physical. It was not showing. Laying out his staff at his side he watched as Yuki-sensei tested Tanu. Hoping the witch failed he watched. She had been the cause of many nights of turmoil for him, and while her own life had fallen apart she still managed to come forward. She was strong there was doubt about it, but Karite would be Kage, his resolve would touch the heavens. He would walk his shinobi way.

Karite played over the scenes of his time on the island, from his first arrival to the first time he meet Baki and Maya. His first kiss, his first life threatening experience. The first time he was beaten. The time Tanu called him an old pervert. As he remembered these memories he smiled. As long as he held onto his memories he could go on. His strength came from Shima. Standing on his feet Karite wobbled a little. Striking the images of self doubt from his mind he regained his strength. Standing tall he walked back into the dojo and waited his turn again. This time around he knew what he had to do.

A smirk crossed Tanu's face that was almost completely wiped off immediately as Tenmoki grabbed the Tategami by the throat and hurled him out of the dojo. With her mouth agape, Tanu's cocky attitude immediately dissipated as she scrambled from her sitting position to look out to see Karite in a heap in a bush. Tenmoki didn't take it easy on the Tategami at all and the moment she heard her clan's name called out, the girl immediately rose. "Yes, sensei!" Tanu shouted, trying to pry up her shoes. Working her hardest and quickest, Tanu unlaced her first shoe and flipped it completely out of the dojo and onto the ground outside. While working to untie her second, Yuki began shouting once again and this time she sounded very angry instead of disappointed. Her red and green eyes grew large as she watched the woman pull back her hand and fling something at her. Tanu wasn't sure what it was, but if it was thrown by that woman it was going to hurt. It was small and fast, so Tanu knew that she couldn't dodge it without using something to help back her up! Quickly, Tanu rushed to throw her hands together to perform seals, but she was far too late. The senbon embedded itself in her skin. "AGH-" Tanu cried out, but quickly silenced herself as she crumbled over with one of her hands holding the wound on her arm.

"You think you know Ninjutsu? You don't know it when it counts! Those seals were performed far too slow. Go and practice them, now! Come back in once you believe you have them down," Yuki said to Tanu as she walked over to the girl and pulled out senbon from her arm with so much as a sliver of concern for the young girl. "Is your confidence solid now, Karite?" Yuki asked the boy as she wiped the bloody needle off with a spare piece of paper sitting on her low table.

Karite used his staff to stand his body moving a little wobbly. As he shook off the feeling his silver eyes looked at Yuki-sensei with a fire that only Karite could produce. Spinning his staff in hi right hand he used his left to wipe away his bangs from his face. "I am ready to show you the spine of the Tategami clan. Feel the power behind my words sensei, My fighting spirit will rise even above yours." Running straight forward this time no fancy tricks. The boy let the staff drag the floor, instead of using it to launch himself into the air he spun it upwards hoping to hit Yuki-Sensei in the jaw. This was the strength of the Tategami Clan. Attacking head on with no opening available for retaliation.

Shin walked behind the short Tanu to the back yard of the Tenmoki's House. The garden sure was beautiful with all its flowers and smelt like a beautiful woman with the scent of the lovely plants filling up the air. Stopping to bend over and sniff one, Shin melted slightly. "Ah..." he sighed imagining Hanabira, who always smelt of flowers, in the back of his mind. "Hana-chan..." he whispered to himself as he dazed off to the sky thinking of the girl- "AH!" Shin yelled as a beaten up Karite was hurled into the bush of flowers he had been sniffing. "Are you ok?" Shin asked his good friend as he sat with his hands on his knees and stared up at Yuki-sensei. The Nara admired Karite as he stood up spinning his Staff and getting right to practicing. He heard the loud voice of Tenmoki Yuki come from the dojo. It sounded... scary. Shin had never heard the woman sound THIS scary! It was more frightening than Shinichi!
Slowly, he inched his way towards the dojo and saw Tanu scrambling to her feet. Before he knew it a thin silver needle had hit the girl in the arm. Shin winced at the metal thorn and groaned as Yuki tore it out from Tanu's arm. Shin was extremely glad that Yuki had said Karite's name next and not his as he stood there gawking in pain at the door. Had Yuki been the one to throw Karite in the bushes!? Whimpering, Shin took off his shoes in the dojo and sat down on a mat while he awaited his turn... "Good luck..." Shin managed to squeak out to Karite as he was called forward. "Ooo," Shin awed as he watched Karite go running straight at Yuki. The power of his words and challenge of spirit infected Shin and made him sit forward from where he sat. "GO KARITE!" Shin called out as if this were a sporting event.

Yuki brought up her hand with a smile and blocked the attack. "We'll see about that," the woman said with a smile as she brought his staff down with her hand and walked over to the table. "Your staff skill is very good when you put your heart and soul into it. But do you know what your weakest skill is, Karite?" the woman asked him as she went through the scrolls to find Karite's and write down his grade.

Damage: 3*.25=.75. (if rounded down it is 0 if rounded up it is 1)
Karite fell back onto his butt as he passed. Breathing heavy he looked at Shin and smiled his signature smile and gaved the boy a thumbs up. Shin was a good friend and for him to yell like that showed how much he cared for someone. Turning to Yuki-sensei when she asked what his weakest skill was. It would have to be anything involving jutsu. He had slacked on his training with his chakra and his jutsu for sometime now. He would have to train hard if he was going to become a person people could depend on. "My weakest skill is my ninjutsu Sensei. I am not very confident in my ability to use my jutsu or the lack there of." While Karite was always very confident no matter the odds he found this one aspect of the shinobi quite frustrating."

[A normal block without a weapon is only half damage not a fourth. And you round up when calculating damage, so it would be 2. You add your modifier to both the low and high range and your bonus to the top so your range would be: 6 to 12]
Yuki smiled as Karite named off what he thought was his weakest skill. Putting her elbows on the table, she smiled softly at the boy. The graduating genins were still very naive to what skills they had on hand. Slowly Yuki shook her head. "You're wrong," Yuki said as she pulled out a piece of paper. "Its your ability to lie," the woman said as she walked forward towards Karite. "There will come a time when being honest and telling the truth will not be able to aid you. If you have to deceive your enemy in order to protect innocent people, that is something you won't be able to do. You hold your emotions out on your hand for everyone to see and that's a dangerous way to live, especially when you have someone like Orika in your squad," Yuki said, not giving Karite any examples or scenarios of how this would hurt him, but choosing to let him ponder it instead. Bending down to where Karite was sitting, Yuki handed him the piece of paper. "The skills of a shinobi are not always physical ones. You've built your endurance well, but it might not always be their to save you and those you hold dear," the woman said as she placed a hand on Karite's chest and her silver green chakra began to slow gently. A tingling sensation would run through Karite's body as she healed him from the training.
"You'll be allowed to choose a new weapon from Hamma's inventory and then Tenko will give you some items to help you on the field. She will then tell you to meet Natamo at the Lagoon, where she'll prepare your squad to take on a mission together," the woman said as she turned and walked away from Karite, leaving him with the paper holding her signature. "If you want to learn more about Ninjutsu, I suggest seeking out Natamo. She is quite skilled in that area," Yuki said with a smile as she turned to Shin, leaving her soft and motherly personality she had been talking to Karite with and turning back into the scary testing teacher!
"Nara Shinobu! Take to the floor," Yuki snapped at the boy, hoping to catch him off guard as she rose from her low sitting table. "You think you have the ears of a Shinobi?" the woman asked him, pulling out a silk scarf from within her sleeves and tying them around his eyes. "Hopefully you can hear me sneak up on you from the correct direction," the woman said with a smile as she gave Shin a push before quickly moving away from him and walking around the room..

Tanu's eyes went wide as Yuki pulled the needle straight out from her arm without any type of concern or care! A trail of blood followed the needle out and Tanu held her hand over it while the wound pulsed heavily. It had been a good year since Tanu had sustained a wound from a weapon. The last time she had been sliced had been during the Meho war, but her adrenaline had been pumping so high that she hadn't had a chance to even grab her wounds. "Yes, sensei..." Tanu managed to say as she remained standing their in shock for a few moments. Slowly picking up her shoes and putting them back on, Tanu walked down the steps of the dojo. Tenmoki had been so fast in her attack and even threw a deadly weapon at her without any concern for where it might have landed. If Tanu had been hit in the middle of her forehead by the needle there would be no doubt that she would be dead right now. It took Tanu a moment to shake off the feeling of a near death experience before she snapped back to reality and back to herself. Karite was going back up against Yuki to show off his staff skill. Tanu had been struck by Karite once before and she hadn't flipped out on the boy, but that had been in a time where the Kun Kumo clan was struggling to show off their honor. If he were to commit the same act now, there would be no forgiveness.

Yuki had ordered her to practice her seals, but there was only one seal to Kawamiri no jutsu! "Tch!" Tanu spat at herself as she realized that her fingers couldn't even fumble together into the most basic of seals. She had been in the middle of untying her shoes! -No! That wasn't an excuse. Yuki had been correct in yelling at her. There were no excuses on the battlefield, only deaths and mistakes. Tanu respected Yuki's decision in not allowing her to move forward if she couldn't handle a single small attack in an open area. Tanu kept her anger in check by thinking in this way and respecting Yuki's decision. Tanu held her hand in the seal of the ram for a long time while concentrating. The scraping of Karite's staff against the dojo floor was a sound of annoyance. Twitching her brow and furrowing it in aggravation, Tanu opened her red and green eyes to watch Karite attack their sensei. She really didn't understand why he drug his weapon across the floor. Wouldn't that just wear it down? Tanu shook her head as Yuki blocked the attack. Dropping the seal of the Ram, Tanu focused back on her training a smooth actions of putting her hands together in the shinobi seal.

Tanu couldn't focus on her training, instead she listened to what Yuki had to say to Karite. She had let him pass even after she blocked his attack so easily... Yuki was a very skilled shinobi, Tanu guessed that she was just there to measure their skills and not have them actually beat her or even dream of landing a hit on her. After hearing that Karite had passed, Tanu didn't pay much attention to anything else that came out of Yuki's mouth. Instead she turned back to her own training. The seal of the ram was the seal of concentration. Kawamiri was a tricky jutsu to perform. Tanu could be in any type of position when she wanted to use it. The girl tried to think of different spots she would be in when using the technique and the quickest way to bring her hands together into that seal. Without stubbing her fingers against her palm or scratching herself, Tanu would have to get the seal together even before she could charge her chakra. She had claimed to be strong in Ninjutsu and her skills of when she did use it was obviously apparent, but Tanu hadn't ever used Kawamiri in battle...

Lying down against the cool ground, Tanu was able to throw her hands together in the seal of the ram. She even went up into a handstand and rolled down putting her hands in the seal as she did this as well. She was sure that she had it down now. There was just one more thing she wanted to try to make sure she had it. Holding a kunai in her hand, a weapon that Tanu used regularly, she tried to place her hands in the seal of the ram while holding onto the kunai. Kunais had a little ring at the end of their hilts, which Tanu realized what good it was for now. Lopping her finger through the ring, Tanu tried to make the kunai fall to the outside of her hand while she tried putting them together in the seal of the ram. She didn't move her hands correctly and didn't give the kunai enough 'oomph' to make it around to the other side, so the Kun Kumo almost ended up pricking herself. "Uh..." Tanu groaned as she flipped the kunai back into her hand normally and tried to perform her seal with the weapon in her hand again.

Tanu heard Yuki call up Shin by his full name. Looking up from her hands, she watched the woman put a blind fold over the tall Nara. Tanu really wanted to watch Shin test just to see what his strongest skill was. The Kun Kumo really didn't know Shin's strengths and weaknesses. She had fought against Kiba and always competed against him, so Tanu and Kiba knew each other's strength and weaknesses pretty well, but Shin was always so passive not really partaking in anything. What type of skill did Shin have that Yuki had to place a blind fold over him. Tanu really wanted to know, but she knew that if she stopped now she wouldn't be prepared herself to re-take the exam. "GR!" Tanu growled at herself as she flipped the Kunai around again and tried to perform the seals with the ring through her finger.

As the Kunai flipped around, it flipped around a little too far and sliced just a sliver a skin as it hit her other hand. "ARG!" Tanu yelled as she took the kunai and threw it against the side of the dojo. Why couldn't she have been more on the ball and performed Kawamiri right the first time!? Tanu was tired of training. She had been doing nothing but training for a whole year! She was ready to start missions and take on REAL enemies. This stupid exam and Yuki's dumb judgement was getting on her nerves! Punching the ground, Tanu breathed heavily as her short fuse began to blow. Grinding her teeth together, she tried to calm herself down as she stood up and ripped the Kunai out from the side of the dojo. There was a deep mark in the wood of the small structure that made Tanu stop- think - freak out. This was Tenmoki's dojo, Tenmoki the woman who had nearly killed Kazuma for destroying her beautiful white carpet and table! Tanu looked around for a beautiful flower to place in the groove. Choosing the symbol of the Tenmoki clan, a white jasmine flower, Tanu carefully placed the stem in the whole the Kunai had left.
