The most noticeable thing about Akiko is her height: she is surprisingly short. She stands at about 4 feet even and couldn’t weigh more than 60 pounds. For her height, though, she doesn’t seem particularly slim or wide. Her skin is mostly colorless; a very slight tan prevents it from seeming white. Dull brown hair reaches down just past her jaw, ending in two beveled lines. It frames her face with stark, straight lines that emphasize the lack of a prominent cheekbone. Her face is otherwise round, almost heart-shaped toward the chin. Her face is that of someone three years younger than she, and it has grown somewhat dreary. Smoky grey eyes dominate the canvas of her face.

Clothing:
Akiko usually wears a bold-colored bandana over the very top of her head; its color varies from day to day. An oversized, light blue blouse covers her torso and is in turn covered by a white apron with ample pockets. Personality:
Akiko is very reserved and shows little interest in friendship with others. She isn’t particularly ambitious, as she usually puts in the minimum amount of effort to successfully complete a task. She deals with failure by denying its importance and ignoring it. She especially doesn’t care for talking about her feelings, and she usually responds with stonewalling and avoidance. She simply isn’t ready to deal with the loss of her father, and her station in life has thus far prevented her from doing so.

Though she might not go out of her way for someone, she does work and play well with others, so long as they don’t ask too many personal questions. If it were up to her, she’d much rather be alone or in the company of two or three others. Being alone helps her relax and improve her mood somewhat, but large crowds make dread being asked too many questions. She usually gets tense when surrounded by others.

Again, Akiko isn’t easy to motivate. Success doesn’t bring her any satisfaction other than not failing, and normal hobbies and interests don’t do much for her. Instead, she relies on her observational skills and takes pleasure in very minute things. The dance of a flickering candle and the resulting glow, the sound rocks make when skipped across a pond, and the smell of grass right after a rainstorm are but a few examples of Akiko’s “interests”.

Occasionally, he’d take her and her mother along, if he expected to stay in the area for an extended time. She didn’t know much about his business except that he always had the best prices and availability. It almost seemed magical to her how he could predict how the market would move. She had great reverence for both him and his business.

In the year 95, Akiko’s father caught wind of a new village being formed and decided to capitalize on their looming needs. He picked up a great wealth of supplies, gathered his family, and boarded a ship to the new isle. Once they arrived, he bought a large wagon and journeyed the rest of the way to the town. As expected, his business was quite successful, to the point where he seemed to have on hand exactly what the village needed. Seasons passed, and Akiko adapted to her new environment. In those days, she was happy, almost always having a goofy grin plastered over her face. Yet, this pleasant start to life would not last.

In the next year, her father was accused of theft and espionage. He met them back at the hotel and told them to take everything and run. He promised Akiko that he would see them again just outside the city gates. Alas: it never came to pass. Throughout the night, Akiko waited impatiently, growing more and more anxious as the hours crawled along. Her mother was worried too, at first, but eventually she lost hope and began planning how to survive for the rest of their lives. Akiko would have none of this, though: she knew her father had to be out there somewhere. So, why did he never come?

Over the years, the surviving females tried to eke out an honest living. As time went by, their situation seemed to grow more and more hopeless. Akiko’s father could not be found, and life was growing harder by the day. She abandoned her attempts to relocate her father, deeming them futile. She lost her hope and ambition, and her only purpose in life was to get through it. Sensing her daughter’s frustrations, Mori Midori sought out some means to provide a better life for her daughter. At the age of 11, the answer came: the Ninja Academy.

Once Akiko's father died, Akiko's mother tried to live strongly on her own like her older sister had once done, but now that times are tough, Akiko's mother must turn to her family for aide. Yuki would have invited them both to Shimagakure. We can make a small NPC profile for Akiko's mother and you can roleplay her at the Tenmoki household when needed. XD

Personality:Kal's Personality is closely related to the Japanese word Enyro;Perpetually smiling, patient, reasonable and soft-spoken, with his feelings well-hidden on the inside in a perfect exemplar of the Japanese word enryo (holding back out of politeness), Higure is a difficult person to fathom. He gives very little away and dislikes prying into others minds, or pasts if they want to tell him he will listen and if not he will be okay.. He does not like fighting and most cases will avoid it at all costs. Fights often but usually it is because he is protecting someone or fighting at someones who is close to his side to keep them from harm.
good personality you would be a good match for the Yamanaka due to your polite habits. Kun Komo cause you fight alot, or Jio cause of your smiling nature.
Background:Kalintz was just a normal everyday child.Kalintz was brought into a poor family with a dreadful past.Kalintz was taught in the ways of fighting hand to hand and throwing acupuncture like needles in the local academy. Kalintz passed through the academy until one day his village was slaughtered by bandits. Kalintz ran away until he came to a port he jumped on the boat,and watched as his homeland was being burned to the ground.Months past and Kalintz found himself on the streets fighting off wild dogs and animals to survive the life he is living now.Until one day Kalintz heard of a weird island off the base shore of were he was residing.Kalintz gather all he had and traveled there,when he saw the island he made a raft and paddled to the island a viscous storm appeared and nearly killed Kalintz but swiped him off his raft.Kalintz was now on the verge of death,until he suddenly appeared on the island.The shinobi/Guards that were guarding the path to the island took him to the medical doctors to get him fixed up.After two weeks Kalintz traveled the new home and saw the academy and paused there.A strange man looked at Kalintz and said" i will ask the teachers to let you join this year,but make me proud."The Man only left Kal his last name" Higure"Kal decided to change his mysterous clan name to Higure and live on the strange island for as long as he could.
I don't know if there are other shinobi academies I dont know if anyone has tried this approach so I will let one of the crew take a look.

A barrage of needles fly at the enemy from sockets in an umbrella that has been flung into the air. They come at the enemy from all directions and are controlled by chakra to increase accuracy. These needles have been known to have the power to pierce 5 mm of steel.

Bunshin no Jutsu (Clone Jutsu)
Name: Bunshin no Jutsu, literally "Clone Technique", Viz "Art of the Doppelganger", English TV "Clone Jutsu"
Type: E-rank, Supplementary
This is a basic technique known to all genin. Bunshin no Jutsu creates a clone of the user, which can used to create a diversion or cause confusion. Unlike Kage Bunshin no Jutsu (Art of the Shadow Doppelganger), these clones aren't real, and thus cannot do any damage.

Henge no Jutsu (Transformation Technique)

Type: E-rank, Supplementary
The user assumes the appearance of another person or animal. This is one of the basic jutsu taught at the Ninja Academy.

Kawarimi no Jutsu (Change of Body Technique)
Name: Kawarimi no Jutsu, literally "Change of Body Technique" (a.k.a. "Change of Stance Technique" or "Body Replacement Technique" ); English TV "Replacement Jutsu", "Replacement Technique"
Type: E-rank, Supplementary
The user quickly replaces themselves with another object, such as a plant or an animal (usually a section of log). This usually confuses the attacker and leaves them open to a counter-attack. A fairly common Jutsu, it is one of the basic Jutsu a Ninja must learn before graduating to the Genin level. It is not limited strictly to the Naruto series, and is sometimes called Utsusemi no Jutsu.

Kakuremino no Jutsu (Cloak of Invisibility Technique)

With this jutsu one uses a cloak or piece of cloth to make oneself blend in with the background, rendering oneself invisible.

Kamaitachi no Jutsu (Cutting Whirlwind Technique)
Name: Kamaitachi no Jutsu, literally "Cutting Whirlwind Technique"
Type: C-rank, Offensive, Short to mid-range (0-10m)
A Jutsu that, using an umbrella, causes huge gusts of wind capable of cutting the target apart. The wind is powerful enough to repel thrown weapons and reflect sound waves back at their source.
We have a list of jutsus in the guild and they have requirements based on your skills and stats. So as a level one student you wont have any of these jutsu. If you like one that isnt in our list you can get it approved in the technique approval thread. They still have to be worked for though.

Try to use periods to end sentences instead of commas and add a space after every period. It makes reading much easier for the rest of us.

Your name should be in the Japanese style of last name first. Higure Kalintz

Please specify a birthdate. What day was he born in? What year?

Your physical description includes both clothing and physical traits. Please arrange it so that clothing goes with clothing and his body features are the only description in Physical Description. To help you add more to that area, why not put in height, weight, eye colour, etc?

I'm not sure what Edo samurai clothing is. ^^; Maybe you could elaborate.

Yes, there can be ninja academy in other parts of the world. He cannot come in super strong, though.

To be frank, the story of children having their village burned and then suddenly finding Shima is way overdone. Can you come up with a more creative history and way to get on the island? If you decide to keep the idea of your village being slaughtered by bandits, maybe elaborate on why the thieves would target such a poor family? Was there some secret ability or artifact they possessed? In his personality, it says that Kal fights to protect people. Maybe an event in his past triggered that protectiveness and he's seeking a shinobi academy to further those skills? Or he might have been on the run by our resident barbarian clan, the Meho. They're hunting another clan of white-haired people called the Kaguya. The Meho will be attacking Shima over the time skip so you could integrate that into your storyline. If you need ideas, feel free to PM Eifer.

Also, Shimagakure is a tiny island so he would arrive at the academy in 10 minutes.

I don't understand the significance of the man Higure. Maybe he could be integrated more into your character's past.

To calculate mods, you would subtract 10 from your ability skill, then divide by two, rounding down. Please calculate your End and Int mods.

I count 7 skills when you only get to start out with 6.

I also noticed that you have two points under the Chakra mod, but no ability mod in chakra. Adding points to the chakra ability increases the mod so you get a higher Ninjutsu and Control skill.

You can't throw senbon until you have 25 ranks in Throwing and 35 Agility. Instead, you could say that Kal practised with throwing weapons like kunai and shuriken. Also, your character can possess needles as say a family heirloom, but he cannot use them.

The fact is that your profile is a lot fuller and more interesting than the vast majority of our applicants. That's one of the reasons I want to work so hard on Kal; I think he could a fascinating character, easily.

Clean, white socks are tucked inside a pair of soft cloth shoes with leather soles; they couldn’t have been very expensive.

Personality:
Akiko is very reserved and shows little interest in friendship with others. She isn’t particularly ambitious, as she usually puts in the minimum amount of effort to successfully complete a task. She deals with failure by denying its importance and ignoring it. She especially doesn’t care for talking about her feelings, and she usually responds with stonewalling and avoidance. She simply isn’t ready to deal with the loss of her father, and her station in life has thus far prevented her from doing so.

Though she might not go out of her way for someone, she does work and play well with others, so long as they don’t ask too many personal questions. If it were up to her, she’d much rather be alone or in the company of two or three others. Being alone helps her relax and improve her mood somewhat, but large crowds make dread being asked too many questions. She usually gets tense when surrounded by others.

Again, Akiko isn’t easy to motivate. Success doesn’t bring her any satisfaction other than not failing, and normal hobbies and interests don’t do much for her. Instead, she relies on her observational skills and takes pleasure in very minute things. The dance of a flickering candle and the resulting glow, the sound rocks make when skipped across a pond, and the smell of grass right after a rainstorm are but a few examples of Akiko’s “interests”.

Background:
Mori Akiko was born in a small village in a forest. Her father worked as a trader and, due to the nature of his business, had to travel frequently. Occasionally, he’d take her and her mother along, if he expected to stay in the area for an extended time. She didn’t know much about his business except that he always had the best prices and availability. It almost seemed magical to her how he could predict how the market would move. She had great reverence for both him and his business.

In the year 95, Akiko’s father caught wind of a new village being formed and decided to capitalize on their looming needs. He picked up a great wealth of supplies, gathered his family, and boarded a ship to the new isle. Once they arrived, he bought a large wagon and journeyed the rest of the way to the town. As expected, his business was quite successful, to the point where he seemed to have on hand exactly what the village needed. Seasons passed, and Akiko adapted to her new environment. In those days, she was happy, almost always having a goofy grin plastered over her face. Yet, this pleasant start to life would not last.

In the next year, her father was accused of theft and espionage. He met them back at the hotel and told them to take everything and run. He promised Akiko that he would see them again just outside the city gates. Alas: it never came to pass. Throughout the night, Akiko waited impatiently, growing more and more anxious as the hours crawled along. Her mother was worried too, at first, but eventually she lost hope and began planning how to survive for the rest of their lives. Akiko would have none of this, though: she knew her father had to be out there somewhere. So, why did he never come?

Over the years, the surviving females tried to eke out an honest living. For years, Midori tried to keep them both alive by working whatever odd jobs the village still trusted her to do and living out of the family wagon. As time went by, their situation seemed to grow more and more hopeless. Akiko’s father could not be found, and life was growing harder by the day. Akiko abandoned her attempts to relocate her father, deeming them futile. She lost her hope and ambition, and her only purpose in life was to get through it. Sensing her daughter’s frustrations, Mori Midori sought out some means to provide a better life for her daughter. Swallowing her pride, she realized she would have to return to the house of her older sister, Tenmoki Yuki. After that, she would see about sending her daughter off to the Ninja Academy so Akiko would not have to live the life of a pauper.

For the 1 per every 5 levels stat bonuses, those aren't applied until you hit level 5, so you can take off the -1 to endurance and +1 to intel for now. Everything else is perfect! Just remember to keep your clan bonuses separate from trainings and other bonuses. We have to keep our clan bonuses bold or a different color. xp

Alright! After you fix that one thing, you can post in the Profile Scroll. Then PM a small NPC profile for your mother. You can copy the skeleton we have for NPC's in the "Shimagakure NPC" thread here in the Game System. For entering your character and Midori, Yuki is heading to a dinner at the Rice Farm to celebrate the Sports Festival that just took place today. You can have Akiko and her mother arrive there, where Yuki will introduce the two to everyone in the village. Sound good?

Physical Description: Standing at the diminutive height of four feet and eleven inches and weighing in at a a slight eighty eight pounds this particular teen stands out from the crowd. It is obvious that Biki is a late bloomer when compared to that of other girls her age. Her eyes are a light brown, skin silky smooth with a bronze hue from hours and hours out in the sun and her golden blonde hair cut short, giving her a tomboyish look as it tends to spike downwards. A dark scar runs along her left cheek from her jaw curving into the side of her mouth. Tiny, undeveloped and being dwarfed by her peers causes her to look much younger than she actually is, but she has found ways to make up for this fact.

The Raiken has designed a large tattoo on her right shoulder of a skull with a kunai ran through it from the top of the cranium, cracks streaming down the entire colorless image. Likewise another inked symbol, about the size of a large coin, forms the kanji for the word 'Danger' on her left cheek just under the eye. Biki has managed to get her upper left ear pierced twice with small silver earrings and three similar piercings on her right earlobe. Often her hair changes from its original color, often in shades of red, white, black or blue depending on what kind of hair dyes she has at her disposal.

Clothing: Bikiten keeps her style of dress to a minimun, not wanting to be a 'girly girl' as she tends to refuse to don a kimono and other forms of formal clothing. She wears the proper footwear of an average shinobi coupled with short, black ankle socks so that they fit nice and snug. Her hips are encased in a pair of black shorts which have no belt loops, the bottoms of them ripped several times by a sharp edge to give them a unique look as they reach down just below her knees which possess no pockets nor zippers. Biki wears bandages even when uninjured as if they were part of everyday apparel. From the waist up to her under arms she is clad in the fabric and when around the common everyday shmo she uses some to cover up the tattoo on her shoulder to hide the fact that she is the descendant of shinobi. Lastly, she wears a black sleeveless shirt which cuts off leaving her bandaged abdoment for full view and a pair of fingerless gloves, also black, seeing how she doesn't really have any sense of style and assumes that she can get away with wearing all black clothing.

Personality: This particular young girl was always a rebellious youth and a tomboy at heart. In her mind rules are to be broken, not followed for when she does follow the rules all she gets is a big headache when people try to smother her with compliments or approval. She is nearly oblivious to other people's feelings and always thrusts her own first. The hot blooded, hard headed Biki is fairly antisocial and doesn't get along with many people due to her selfish and arrogant nature. The teen could honestly care less what everyone else thinks about her attitude and will even go out of her way to make another person squirm if possible. Possessing a highly violent and abusive nature she's quick to act when the gauntlet is thrown before her, proceeding to pick it up and beating the thrower in the face with it; or at least attempting to.

She has yet to have any sort of crush, nor does she care to have one seeing it as a useless distraction. An intense dislike of other people crowding her or simply touching her without permission will push the kunoichi-in-training over the edge, personal space is a big thing to the girl and when it is breached all hell shall break loose. A large chip sits upon her shoulder when height or sex appeal are brought up and reacts in a variety of ways depending on the situation, most not benefiting anyone and just causing problems for everyone involved.

The Raiken likes food, lots and lots of food. This isn't without a reason. Biki possesses an incredibly high metabolism and is usually bounding with energy. It could be said that this is because of her bloodline, but this is probably not true seeing how she's a bit out of place even within her own clan. Even if she dislikes someone with the intensity hotter than a thousand suns if they invite her to go get a bite to eat she just can't resist the offer and may even act a bit civil during the meal to show what little gratitude she has to offer. When one dines with the young girl they'd best be on their toes or else they might be missing a few items from their bowl or plate.

The girl hates losing, plain and simple. She reacts poorly whenever such an event occurs and tends to make a fool of herself as she tries to argue with the fact or wants to have another go at the task once more. It is even worse when she loses to another of the female persuasion, often intensifying her dislike for the individual to new heights. Winning isn't necessarily a good thing for others either, for she tends to rub it in and prances about like she just produced the results that which only a god could provide. She can do anything better than anybody, and firmly believes in this. If her ego was any larger her head would begin to expand.

At times her logic is flawed when her young, still developing mind tends to jump to conclusions. This doesn't make her stupid, not in the least. It just shows that she is still merely a child despite how much of a facade she can put on to make herself seem older or how much she trains her body in the ways of the ninja. She does not possess any role models, in fact she is her own role model which causes to be quite a problem to her mentors. If she doesn't aspire to be greater than anyone but herself, then how shall she find the resolve to get anything done? The simple fact is ambition. This single thing keeps Biki going despite how hard things get, willing to face the world if need be to aquire what she wishes; power.

Background: Even as a toddler Biki didn't see eye to eye with anyone, even her own parents. All she did was scream, kick and cry since it was all she could do without possessing the ability to communicate in any other way. As a young girl she would often get into disputes with others her own age and, in the process, would kick the snot out of them for any reason she could come up with. It didn't take long for all the adults of the Raiken Clan to keep an eye out for whatever the little ruffian was up to. Things went from 'Do what your parents say' to 'Do what the adults say'. Bikiten didn't entirely know how to deal with it all. It took her many years but eventually she came up with simple solutions that she was already naturally inclined towards.

She would be the biggest bad a** she could be.

It was a simple solution to a complicated problem. Just training casually as she had been use to was beginning to not cut it anymore, her abilities set her off from her so called 'friends', which were nothing more than a little gang of punks. Going from leader to her own little crew to a nobody was a devastating blow to the little Raiken, but she wouldn't give up. For a few more years after to losing those fake friends she grew to become an ominous figure amongst her peers. Her skills grew more and more, though she didn't train out in the open overseen by any of her clansmen.

In a meeting it was decided what was to be done with the spitfire. She would be sent to an Academy, along with her younger cousin, Rolaen. A bit of harsh reality was what Biki needed to snap her mind straight since she wouldn't listen to reason. The best teacher of all time and the best suited for the teen would be experience.
