Wendy smiled sympathetically in response. "Awww, poor thing. Well, I hope you feel better!" She reached for some French toast. "So where're James and Sirius? Still sleeping, I expect, right?"

"I have no idea, actually," he said as he poured milk over his cornflakes. Old man cereal, a voice sounding oddly like Sirius muttered in his head. He stabbed at the cereal with his spoon, pushed it away, and made a bacon sandwich with some toast. "Sirius never came back to the dorm last night."

Wendy raised her eyebrows, smirking. "Indeed? Suppose whatever marauding he was up to was too important to be interrupted by sleep," she said. Then, the idea of lack of sleep reminded her suddenly of something. "Oh! By the way, Peter, I finished your essay," she declared, pulling a roll of parchment out of her pocket. She avoided Remus's gaze as she did so, remembering his advice on the subject of doing others' homework. "That'll be 20 Sickles, if you don't mind."
Peter looked up from his breakfast and smiled at the little Ravenclaw sitting across from him. "Yes! Thanks, Wendy, you're a life-saver!" He fumbled around in his pockets for spare change, and his heart sank as he realized he only had 15 Sickles with him. "Er, I'm five short..." he mumbled, hoping that maybe he could play on Wendy's hate of disappointing anyone to get her to accept the reduced offer. It turned out he was successful.
"Oh. Well, that's all right! I mean, what's five Sickles, right?" Wendy said cheerily, handing Peter the essay and taking the Sickles.

Remus raised an eyebrow at his sandwich (to refrain from being rude to Wendy) but said nothing. "Well, the last time we saw him he was with Marketa, and she's not at Hufflepuff table wither..." he directed the topic away from the Sickles that could burn through his skin if he touched them.

"Well, we are a bit early..." Wendy reasoned. "We'll just have to ask her over once she gets here." Her eyes wandered up to the window where the owls came with the post, wishing the clock would tick faser.

"I suppose, unless Sirius has already done the asking," added Remus with a suggestive eyebrow waggle and a lopsided grin. Then he blushed and stopped, though the corners of his mouth were still twitching.

Wendy snorted laughter. "I don't suppose I'd put it past him," she said, nodding.

"I definitely wouldn't put it past him," Remus added. "He is Sirius Black, after all."

*several minutes later >.>* Mar took a deep breath as they entered the Great Hall, glad to see that the room wasn't as full as it could have been as it was Sunday and everyone was trying to sleep as long as possible before having to go back to school schedules tomorrow. She tried to mimic Sirius's proud posture, but found herself too awkward to look anything but silly. She let him lead her to the Table. "So, what is agenda today?" she asked, her voice only half a decible higher than normal, so it was hardly noticeable.

"Dunno," Sirius grinned. He shrugged his shoulders and sat down. "It matters what you all want to do. It is Sunday, after all. What say you, Remus?"

Remus scowled at Sirius, though it was a fake. He was good with false (but convincing) emotions. "I slept at a 90 degree angle last night, and have a sore-arse back and a crick in my neck because of you." With a final, slightly deranged twitch of his lower left eyelid, he turned back to his sandwich and took a vicious bite, as if he were directing his (completely fictional) anger at Sirius toward the bacon and toast.
Remus was a bit too convincing. Mar's eyes widened as she sat beside Sirius. "Why do you blame Sirius for bad sleeping angles?" she asked incredulously.

Wendy snorted laughter at Mar's question; it just got to her when people worded things in a funny way, and Marketa seemed to have an admirable talent for doing that often. "Indeed!" Wendy said, a smirk cutting through her mock seriousness. "Surely Sirius isn't responsible for the sleeping angles of his mates!"

Remus turned his mock glare to her next. "He surely is, when I'm waiting up to harrass him about-" he turned his attention to Sirius "-where he was last night-" before turning back to Wendy "-and, as he was gone so long, I accidentally fell asleep in a chair!" He then proceeded to pout melodramatically.

"Seconded!" Remus replied enthusiastically, sitting up for a moment to raise his glass but then wincing and slouching over again.
