Pale ears heard as Karite sped through the trap like a roadrunner in a race. The boy truly did ‘bring the bacon’. At the very least a hundred pounds worth. Orika had closed the trap and even sprung forth top use her body to entangle one of the boars. With a hurt limb she decided to go in and try to tackle down one of the beasts. It could mean death for the energy bunny, but the female was willing to do what needed to be done for the mission. The shinobi in training continued to analyze the situation as he watched the reaper begin to face off against the other boar. Was he also doing it for this mission? Or was it for some other reason? The girl’s move had open an assault onto one of the boars yet Karite was in peril with the other. The technical mind of the youth had made up to aid the time cutter. Orika would have to hold out with her luck or strength or whatever it is she had that allowed her to defeat both boys. His body lunged from the tree like a boa constrictor trying to grasp a bird out of mid flight. Above the hog Shisei’s body quickly plummeted with the quickly made sharpened stake aimed down at its target. The emerald hair teen had the creature’s attention so the snake youth could manage a brutal attack. If luck would be good then perhaps an instant kill.
Faith would not be so giving in this first attack. The stake aimed at directly in middle of the neck of the beast, just above Karite’s arm, did not pierce. Shisei’s aim and velocity was accurate. The wild animal though had shifted its massive head and thick body. This placed the head in the area of the serpent’s fall. The boar looked up for the last time it would see out of its left eye. The stake created, from a tree limb, had stabbed into the eye of the prey. A mixture of puss, eye juice and blood exploded out like a popped pimple, splattering around the ground. Some of the gooey mixture splashed against Shisei’s cheek. It had a rotting smell, but the serpent was not deterred. Even though his attack did not hit the preferred point, the Orochi youth kept a firm grip on the wooden knife, pounding it into the socket of the creature like someone would hammer a nail into wood. His other hand gained a firm grasp of hair from around the neck and legs constricted around the belly of the beast. This left the pale assailant hanging on the left side of the pig as it thrashed and bucked about. Its form pulled both boys around like rag dolls, its concern more with Shisei who was like a continuous bullet ant sting. The porky form slammed into the wall of the trap trying the scrape the snake boy off its side. The dread head remained steadfast not releasing despite the feeling of air leaving his longs.

Karite noticed Shisei had swooped into to safe the day. If was faster then he had thought. As the snake fell from the sky the boy noticed the stake in his hand. "Alright Shisei!" The first praise given the the snake from the reaper it seemed, maybe now it wouldn't be the last. As the Shisei's executed his attack the Boar jerked and the attack struck the eye, not the intended target but good enough. As the juices drenched the front of Karite's body the boy maneuvered himself on top of the beast to finished what he started. As he looked the boar began rubbing Shisei along the side of the trap. Not a good thing for the snake but some scratches would strengthen him overall. "Shisei...don't worry about this one go help Orika. I can take care of the rest." Karite took both of his growing arms and clenched his hands together in a tight lock. Pulling back as if they were reins on a horse he began to close of the air supply for the boar. Soon this beast would be nothing but another kill to add to the others. Karite was not letting go, this was the easiest way to satisfy his unruly side. A side of him he would have to control. "Don't die me now Snake eyes. It was just starting to get fun, go take care of the other slab." Karite managed to spit out the words through his ground teeth as he tried his best to slow down the beast enough for Shisei to grab his stake.

The child grated against the wall trying to keep hold until he heard Karite’s voice. He only grunted in approval of the reaper’s will and allowed his body to fall off. He let go of vice grip with his legs and the wholly head. The only thing the stern serpent kept hold of was his makeshift weapon which began to drag past the boars eye and down to its cheek leaving a ugly scar mixed with blood. The blood and Shisei feel to the ground, the young child covering his head with his arms in fear of getting trampled. As soon as the danger was out of the way his body flipped back up to a vertical stance. Gold eyes gleamed at the pig that Orika was holding. Shisei positioned his weapon like a person about to make an assassination. His form bolted fast with the intentions of taking the throat away from this animal. He wanted to pierce so deep into this hog that his hand was within the victim’s body.
The snake would get his wish. The stake and up to his white elbow burst through the captured pig’s throat. Like a dam being destroyed, scarlet liquid splashed in all directions. The crimson water splattered on Shisei, the boar and on Orika’s limbs. “Hold it…” the snake child muttered to his peer as he began to use his body weight to gore the animal’s throat. His other arm was used to keep the animals head up so he could continue with his devious work. Soon enough Shisei’s prey would die.

Karite pulled tight as the creature he rode slowed and fell to the ground like mighty titan of war. Breathing heavy and holding his own bleeding side he bowed to the creature. "Thank you for an honorable battle. Your death will not be in vein." Karite felt that any opponent whether it be Orika or Shisei even this boar. They deserved his respect in and out of battle. he had forgotten that recently. Turning he walked towards Orika and Shisei. "I think its dead there Snake eyes." Karite said patting him on the back offering Orika a hand. "You did good there legs, I didn't think you had that much strength in you." Turning his head around Karite smiled showing his own fangs. "You Shisei, Thanks you helped a lot. It wouldn't have been possible without you. This is the first thing we have done together without to much fighting. I am glad to see we might be finally coming together like a team." There was a weapon for every battle, and it seemed the three of them were the perfect weapons for every battle. "I don't know if I will be able to go on. I am getting pretty banged up and since I rely on my body for most of my daily activates I say we call this kill a day and skin and get rested up for what ever Maya has waiting for us. But we are a team so it isn't up to me. If you guys think we should keep going then we can keep going."

Shisei felt a pat on his back and realized that the animal was dead. He was analyzing it slowly and watching how its body began to slow down. How its essence and fortitude for life drained away. It was like a candle that slowly blew out in the wind. You could slowly watch it flicker out, but once it is out it is done. It happens in an instance. Getting up and wiping some blood from his cheek. He listened as the boy offered him some praise. “Of course it wouldn’t have been possible. The two of you need more then you realize.” The serpent child stated turning away from the two. Of course the same could be said about little snake needing them, but his ego would never let him realize. "And don't go calling us a team. This bond is only because of Ero-sensei. Once he relieves it then it's back to how we were." His voice did commented back to Karite on calling them a team. The thoughts he contemplated about this alliance is only left in the dread head’s mind. He did admit to himself though that they were useful, if only at the most as cannon fodder. Giving a small glance back at Karite he could see the youth was probably not able to go after something else as tough as a boar. Orika was still basically incapacitated. So much for cannon fodder. “I’ll be the bait this time. You two rest and get the trap ready again.” the fanged mouth stated beginning to walk away in another direction. His form then stopped for a second and one gold eye turned to the creator of the trap. “You wanted deer didn’t you? Unless you also want to quit for today.” he questioned the girl awaiting her answer. The pale boy did not care either way. He had gotten his boar. Anything else is just icing to the cake.

Orika arched her neck back as Shisei started mutilating the boar. She didn't mind the blood splatters since she was already covered in more than her share of goop, gunk, and icky stuff, but what concerned her most was that the boy was cutting into some of the most valuable meaty cuts. That, and the fact that she could feel the end of the stick poking through the skin and jabbing into her chest. Had he gone insane? As soon as snake boy stopped his rampage, Orika set the pig down gently and started dragging it into the creek a few hundred yards away. Her new muscles more than made up for the absence of significant leg strength, but it wasn't enough to ferry the gigantic pig. "Wow, we really scored!" Orika chirped, as she grabbed her crutches and limped back to the other two. They were complete opposites, with Shisei always looking on the downside and Karite bearing ten full glasses on each limb. The latter wild boy seemed intently focussed on how well the team was doing and though she was glad for his 'take it easy' style, the girl wasn't about to let her rival get the better of her. It was solely for that reason that she decided to go on, for the teenager could hardly feel her extremities in the frost. "Next time, how about you try hunting by yourself and see if you can get anything bigger than a hare?" Orika teased, crossing her arms over her chest duelly for warmth and to show Shisei he wasn't the boss of everyone, despite what he may think. "Deers come in herds so don't come back without at least three on your scaly tail. I'll enlarge the trap to fit that many in the meanwhile. Oh, and Shisei, you're right for once in your miserable life. I wouldn't be on your team unless my life would be saved and even then, I'd throw you to the enemy." she caustically declared, her hatred of the arrogant p***k threatening to brim over.

Karite simply chucked and placed his hands in his pockets as he walked over to a resting place to remove his shirt. He needed to see what kind of damage he was doing all though he knew he couldn't feel it. Out of the three injuries Kore and Karite suffered more. Orika could push herself but with her legs she had limitations, unlike Karite and Kore who could push themselves like nothing ever happened and end up injuring themselves more. Listening to the two talk he smiled again as he rubbed his hand across his bandages only to find fresh blood. "Deer aren't that simple my energetic friend. Boar are like Maya. They charge head on into battle with no fear of death because of the strength they have. While Deer are more like Serena, they are distance animals and are very aware of their surroundings. So they wouldn't be following Shisei. Shisei would be chasing them. If that was the case if he were going to herd them into this trap we would have to use three people, but since Kore and yourself aren't up for chasing Deer there would be no point. So this trap has potential, but instead of caging them, we need to instantly kill them on site. The problem hunting like we are is that without weapons and three of us being at less then full strength we are not truly hunters but mere spectators of the forest. So do either of you have a take on how to take care of our next prey or shall we call it a day till we have actually weapons? I know usually Kore and myself slow down a Deer with a kunai or shuirken, then follow the blood if it gets away." Karite said pulling his shirt back on and dragging the other boar off where Orika had done the same.

Shisei's brow narrowed slightly at Orika's words. "Stop trying to act tough. It's not a desirable look for a girl. Besides can you even catch a hare on your crutches?" his voice replied, but the child's form did not turn. The sound of Serena’s name was also slightly unpleasing. A deer? To the snake child she was like some little (despite the fact the she is taller than him) weasel or fox that thought they knew everything. That girl was irrelevant at the moment. More importantly was the situation of their next prey. The snake youth could chase the deer, but there was no way he could chase more than one into the trap. The others would easily split into different directions. The reaper had brought up a decent point. He had an edge when it came to hunting so it was in Shisei’s best interest to listen to silver eyes. Yet at the same time he didn’t like bringing back a number of animals that fell below the wild woman’s expectations. She did give them a list to get after all. A decision he didn’t feel like making. “You bring up a point Karite. Although if Maya-sempai becomes angry you will have to explain it to her. No doubt she will be disappointed if we didn’t bring back her specified amount. You as the most knowledgeable on hunting within the group, but you’re tired now and Orika can’t move quickly.” the child states scratching a dread at the back of his head. His face pivoted slightly to show one gold eye over his head. “Since you two don’t seem to like my orders then you both make the decision this time. I don’t really care either way…” the snake child replied awaiting for an answer.

Orika giggled and plopped down to listen closely to Karite. She liked the sound of his still boyish, but confident voice and so accepted everything he said without question. Despite the dire situation his words put them in, hearing him talk so intelligently was better than a short speech on something happy any day. She was thinking about what the three could do to capture the deer when Shisei's infuriating words reached her ears. "Why does it matter if I'm a girl?" Orika hissed. From her sitting position, she didn't appear very intimidating to the dreadlocked boy, but there was nothing she could do about it. She only had her words as weapons and was powerless if he decided to spring on her. "I can do everything you can, at full strength anyway. Stop acting like you know anything about girls when you have no social skills whatsoever!" She puffed out her lips, forcing herself to go back on his last points. Orika didn't bother to thank Shisei for giving them a chance to make the decisions because that was expected of him as a team member. The girl was silent for a time, formulating her plan, before she spoke, "I don't want to face Maya without getting what she wants of us. Maybe our strategy is wrong? Instead of chasing the deer, what if we draw them into this area first, then chase them into the trap? Look around you. If you can at least get the deer past the first sharpened stakes, they'll have no place to run, but into the pen." Orika licked her lips and pressed her fingers together into a triangle, the tips tapping against her upper lip. "It's deer mating season so we'll have that to our advantage," she said, remembering the knocking din of fighting bucks outside her house last week, "They'll probably gather in large groups. I got it! Does anyone know what a deer call sounds like? Deer can hear it for kilos if we're loud enough!" She tried an unsuccessful bleat, which sounded more like a hack and cough, then smiled sheepishly.

Shisei listened to hopper’s reply and his face became its expressionless mask once again. She was always the one that wanted to go head to head against him. Regardless of the subject she collided into the serpent like two bison crashing horns. Her personality was steadfast and unswerving like an iron pole. “No social skills…” the child let those words drift from his mouth and ended his sentence there. If he continued then surely in a couple minutes there would be only one student standing between the three. Something as volatile as the night in the farmhouse could happen again. This time he would have the advantage since little snake still had his wooden fang that killed the boar… He slowly strode over to the farm girl’s form and took a seat before her. The gold eyes locked with Orika’s pupils. “No. I do not know how. Teach me.” the snake student stated not letting his stare dissipate.

Orika stared curiously back into those strange slitted eyes and wondered if the snake boy saw the world any different than the rest of them did. Was that why he was always bitter, because to him, the world wasn't as beautiful as it was to her? It was a far fetched thought, too far out there to be plausible. Orika finally broke the stare and bit her lip as she tried to think of what deer sounded. All she could remember was those two bucks hitting each other. Wait, didn't they also make grunting noises as they bashed heads? "Um... it's a weird sound, kinda like eeeeeh! That sounded about right! Now, you try it. Just do it from your throat and copy me. Try it really loud! EEEEEEEHH!" The girl bleated as loudly as she could, then listened intently for the sound of hoofs. She closed her eyes, willing the sight of Shisei's golden orbs out of her mind, and listened to the sounds of the forest. There was the rushing creek, probably not frozen like everything else because of its speed. Then she could hear a single winter bird, squawking its pain to the rest of the world with high pitched chirps. The breathing of the two boys started softly, then grew into a progressively louder background noise until Shisei's steady breaths and Karite's ragged puffs dominated her hearing. The air was silent, as winter freezes any sign of life, but she could still hear no hoofs approaching.

Karite did not bash heads with either Shisei or Orika. Letting the two go at each other in their own ways was how they got out stress then so be it. When he was healed it was back to training with Kore. He would not let a repeat of that night come again. When the talk of calls came into mind he was at a loss. While it was a good idea and he knew what they sounded like. The only problem that still reared its ugly head was hot to kill a full grown deer without any form of weaponry. Looking up at Orika and Shisei he began to speak, "This is all good in all, but we are still missing how to kill these deer. I am not going to be able to simple jump on its back and choke it to death. Kore is to small to have any effect, Orika your strength is amazing but no much for their agility, and Shisei, while your the only one with a weapon it doesn't seem likely with this plan you are going to have a clear shot. In order to kill these creatures we are going to need weapons. Since Hamma will not let us borrow any due to Demon-Sensei's orders the only place left to get them is the tent on the grounds which Maya is probably at right now. Which means if we are going to have any chance in bring anything else down in this forest we would have to sneak past Maya grab the weapon bags and come back here while two other people call the deer in." While Karite's plan was thorough and would bring the best results the only problem was who was willing to die for the others. "Understand that if the person was caught Maya would more then likely skin them alive. While my past along gives me a better chance of survival and I hope I have not underestimated my luck with Maya she wont kill me. But this is all just me thinking for once. What do you both think?" Asking again if Snake eyes or legs had any input was strange for three solo-artist they almost starting to act like a team.

The boy’s face turned to surprise as Orika suddenly erupted with a noise that he guessed was a deer noise. His eyes were open wide and brows were both set high upon his face. Did she really want him to try and make that noise? Maybe Shisei should not have asked her to teach him. He scratched his cheek with one finger. “Uhh…”. This was demeaning, but he did not want to come back to Maya having to say something like ‘we were too weak to catch any other animal. We failed’. With a small cough the boy tried the bellow. “Eeeehhh!” his voice was from the same loudness of Orika’s but it was enough for anyone in the area to hear. It quickly dissipated as Shisei began to cough. “If either of you tell anyone about this I’ll nail your tongues to the roofs of your mouths.” He muttered aloud. Before he could make another try Karite began to speak.
The snake child listened to Karite as he brought up another good point. Even if they got the deer into the trap how were they going to slay it? One little stake no larger than a dagger wasn’t going to do it. Shisei couldn’t just well fling it at the animal either. Something long would be needed, like a spear. A spear would have been better for the boars also. Yet getting any form of weapon would be the hard part now. Especially from the lioness and her lion. Out of the three them Shisei was willing to make a decision. “Orika cannot walk and your tired from the having the boars chase you. That and Maya is your clan member now, correct? There is no reason for you to lose your cub over something miniscule as weaponry for hunting. So I’ll sneak the weapons from her. I have the least to lose. Ero-sensei and the other villagers probably expect this behavior from me so it won’t be a problem that I take the blame. If the worse case scenario happens and she kills me, then it doesn’t matter. My clan is basically extinct anyways. My death will just quicken its extermination. Also if I die then you’d get your wish. Right?” the stolid boy stated staring at Orika. “If I die then Ero-sensei may just put you two with another student or leave the two of you to work together.” the boy’s eyes then turned away and gazed into the forest in the direction of where the grounds of Tategami lay. “Besides if something so minor as stealing a few weapons gets me killed then my life was a waste from the start.”. The pale frame shrugs its shoulders once turning back to his peers. “In the end it is a win-win situation. So both of you make a decision. Do you want me to get some type of armaments or not?”.

"Big threats from a small guy," Orika muttered, sticking out her tongue to imagine how it would feel with a nail through it. Ew... "Good bleat, though. You sound more like an animal every time you talk," she said cheerfully, then turned her head to listen to Karite. They could go on insulting each other all day and though she secretly enjoyed it, Orika did not want Shisei to think she was some kind of overly energetic bunny that picked a fight for no reason. In short, she'd seen how his apathy pissed people off and she figured it might annoy him a bit if she didn't respond with energy to anything. Or, would the clash of their personalities prove more fruitful in her mission? Probably. Orika looked to the sky and thought about Karite's risky plan. She contemplated whether to ask the boys for something special and balanced the odds of success in her mind. Would it be more successful to sneak something past Hamma-san or past Maya-san? They were bound to find out, since there'd be missing weapons. The girl kept her thoughts momentarily to herself, focusing on what Shisei was saying. "What?" she exclaimed, inching up to the purple-headed boy, "You're an idiot, you know? There's always a reason to live. Don't even think about throwing your life about so casually. A replacement wouldn't be as useful to us as you." It was just about the first compliment she'd ever given him. However, Orika saw the logic in what Shisei was saying and she pursed her lips together as she continued, "You're the best guy for the job, but don't get caught. Just one thing, though. It'd be better to go to the weapons shop. For one, I want you to steal me a club. I can't use shuriken or kunai as well. There are more weapons in the shop so they won't be as missed as if you took what Maya's guarding with her life. If you see Hamma around, or anyone else for that matter, then try Maya's place, okay? If you take unnecessary risks, you put us all in danger." Orika nodded and went back to bleating, this time giving a quiet and slightly different call. Where were those darn deer?

Shisei was about to try the deer call again. He did not know what possessed him to. Maybe because if he didn’t hopper would think he couldn’t do it. Which was far from the truth. It was just undignified for him to do it. Still the smallest of the Shima kids puffed his cheeks was about to holler like a deer in need of some strong sexual release, but was interrupted by Orika. He coughed twice while listening to the girl. It almost sounded like she was concerned for his welfare. Probably a falsehood though. To Shisei people only needed each other to be of use. There could be no other reason. “Heh. Worried about me? Well it’s not required. Especially if you don’t mean it. I’ll give you some advice. A person’s life is only worth something if they are a winner. The best. If not they might as well be dead.”. The child turned away looking out of the forest. “You do have a point though. Perhaps that weapons maker would be better. So then you two will practice your…. deer calls while I go for the weapons?”
