After spending a few moments getting to know the new Pokemon, Jaeshan started to sense that the Beldum was growing comfortable with the fact that he would be its new trainer. Instead of trying to hide, now the metallic Pokemon was floating around the boy with what Jaeshan thought was neutrality, at the very least. "If I remember correctly, the only move you know is Take Down..." he said, scratching his chin with a finger. "Which would mean that attacking would be quite dangerous for you." This would mean training could be a problem. Jaeshan sighed, wondering what he could do to counteract the damage Beldum would do to itself while attacking others. It wasn't very versatile... but it was incentive to train in order to get Beldum to evolve into its next stage - Metang.
The sliding doors of the Pokemon Center opened with a soft hiss, and Kirstie poked her head in, looking around curiously. "Hey, what gives? You're taking forever," the young girl hollered, looking at Jaeshan with a clear pout on her face. "Is your 'thing' done yet?" she asked.
"Heh, yeah," Jaeshan said, standing up. Beldum looked towards the girl, its red eye blinking slowly before it decided she wasn't anything to be afraid of. However, it didn't leave Jaeshan's side even as he walked towards the door to follow her outside. "So how about that battle then, hmm? You up for it?"
"You bet," the spirited youth nodded, twirling as she lead him to an empty field that happened to look a little battle-worn. "The Petalburg Gym Leader, Norman, and his underlings train here sometimes," she informed him, gesturing to the area with a sweep of her arm. "I used to come out and watch sometimes. He is a really talented trainer. I hope I can battle with him sometime."
Norman, Jaeshan thought, glancing towards the gym which rose up in the distance. Someday we'll challenge him, but not until Torchic and Beldum have a bit more experience. "Keep up your training and you probably will be able to someday," he told the girl truthfully. "I've been given some good advice from my friends, and it was to never give up, otherwise you'll fail before you even start."
"That's pretty wise," she said, smiling. "You must have some great friends."
"That I do," Jaeshan replied with a grin. "So how many Pokemon you got, Kirstie?"

Allie's Helping Hand (borrowed from Flash) empowering Levi's Water Gun made for a solid attack, and the Plusle staggered back, water dripping from its body. It didn't seem like it was ready to give up just yet, looking towards the two Pokemon in front of it grimly. It knew it couldn't win, but it wasn't about to go down without a fight either. Getting down on all fours, the Plusle's body became fully wreathed with electricity, and it started to make a headlong dash towards Allie, damned and determined to take out the kitten if it was the last thing it did in this battle.
Predictably, Levi stepped in the way of the charging Plusle to protect Allie from the dangerous Spark attack, but the Plusle had since wised-up to the Marshtomp's tactic. Giving a cry, the electrified Plusle jumped up and over Leviathan, landing safely with a tumbling roll before it resumed its running attack. Allegra hadn't even the time to utter a small Mew? before the Plusle slammed into her, sending the two of them rolling in an electrified, pink and yellow ball. When they came to a stop, stray sparks were still crackling over the two of them, and they both tried to stand unsuccessfully, having become dizzy from all the rolling. Allegra cried out in frustration as another wave of static danced over her body and she collapsed on the ground, unable to move due to paralysis. Levi looked towards the Plusle and growled, and at Kasiya's command ran forward to finish the little thing off with a Tackle. A confident look spread across the Marshtomp's face as she watched her opponent be recalled, and she trotted over to the paralyzed Skitty and picker her up to carry her back to Kasiya.
"That... Pokemon isn't cute at all," the pudgy woman scoffed, tucking the two Pokeballs into her purse, "but it's tough, I'll give it that." She turned towards Kasiya and smiled. "Congratulations. Your Pokemon work together well as a team." With a final nod, she wandered off, continuing the way she had been going before.
"Strange lady," Kasiya shook her head, bending down to take Allie from Leviathan as her Pokemon neared her. "Poor baby, that mustn't feel very good..." she sighed, cuddling the Skitty. "Levi, you were awesome out there, blocking all those Spark attacks! I never knew you were such a team player!" Still on her knees, she used her free arm to pull the Marshtomp into a hug, which was received with a happy squeal. Kasiya giggled, quite happy with both of her Pokemon.

Kasiya would feel a gentle nudge from Themis as the Manectric had quietly watched the battle, and was satisfied with its outcome. He knew the two young Pokemon had a lot of potential, although even now he wouldn't want to be on the receiving end of Leviathan's ground type moves. He pawed the ground anxiously, eager to get a move on and find his trainer.
Meanwhile...
"Now... Kasiya couldn't have gone too far on her own," Keegan mumbled, looking around and putting his hands on his hips. Tierra had curled up into a ball, her four arms swaddling her round body as she dozed, content to let the sun's warm rays warm her. Artemis hadn't left her perch on top of the Graveler's body, and was looking around alertly, enjoying the sights around them. Keegan eyed the flying type and smiled. "Artemis, you could fly up ahead and see if Kasiya and Themis are there," he said, stroking the Swellow's soft feathers. She cooed happily and nodded before flapping her wings and taking off, scouring the ground from the skies for signs of their friends.
"And you..." Keegan patted the lump of rock that was his Graveler, "I can't wait to evolve you into a Golem." The Graveler said nothing, only turned over in her slelep, and nearly rolling onto Keegan's foot in the process. It seemed she hadn't changed much. "Well, might as well rest up in here," the redhead sighed, holding up the Great Ball and recalling her. It wasn't until he'd clipped Tierra's Great Ball to his belt and felt his hand brush up against his PokeNav that he realized it would have been probably about ten times easier to just call Kasiya and get her to tell him where she was in relation to his position. "Sometimes I wonder how I can even make it through a single day," he sighed, annoyed at his shortsightedness as he dialed the girl's number, drumming his fingers of his left hand against his hip as he waited for a response.

Mai slowly relaxed her grip on the Rocket, and let her hand fall to her side. A ragged sigh escaped her throat as she stepped back, trying to regain her composure. An intrigued sort of smile crept across her lips as Giovanni enlightened her to Mike's connection with Team Magma, and she looked closer at the snapshot of the boy. "He was an admin?" she questioned, pointing to the badge the boy also sported. "Interesting, seeing as he claims to be such the crusading hero, always marching off to someone or other's rescue." She smiled darkly, imagining the hurt looks on the faces of his friends when they found out about goody-two-shoes Mike's dark past. "To think he joined the ranks of those idiots at Team Magma." She sneered, tilting her head to the side. "Blah, blah, blah, the land is so important, let's expand it and diminish the sea. And then throw in those equally dunderheaded-morons from Team Aqua with their expand-the-sea crap, and you've got a real gaggle of idiocy right there." Her mocking tone amused the braver of the two Rocket Grunts, but his near-laughter was stifled as Mai shot him a piercing look. She let out a disgusted sighed and shook her head. "And their uniforms are all so... tacky."
New photos were being transfered over even as they spoke, but these ones were all still-frames from the boys' trouncing of the so-called guards stationed at the entrance. "If it were up to me, I would have my guards use brute force when their Pokemon failed." She chuckled lightly and looked up at Giovanni, wondering if he really was impressed with the kids or if it was just his way of saying how annoying they all were. When her boss also used the word 'sister' she did her best not to cringe, only turned to the Rocket at the panel. "Well?" she barked, cuffing him on the back of the head. "Answer your boss, worm!"
"The girl Kasiya, and the redhead-"
"Keegan," Mai interrupted quickly.
"Right, Keegan," he continued, pressing several keys in order to bring up feedback from a different camera. This one was positioned high on a telephone pole near the train station as to get shots of who was getting on and off of the train. "They were both spotted here, at Slateport City's train station. They arrived close to an hour ago, then went shopping at the bazaar."
"It's like they just know..." Mai grumbled, but didn't elaborate on her statement. "Are they still there?"
"We don't think so," the grunt said, shaking his head. "It seems they then split up, as the redhead - Keegan - went to the Pokemon Center alone. Seems the boy has a rare Kangaskhan in his possession," he added, more or less for the higher-ups to take note of. "Anyways, Kasiya continued north on her own, most likely on her way to Mauville City. We don't have cameras positioned on Cycling Road (yet), so we can't see if she's taken the bike path or not. The boy, on the other hand, got on his bike and rode after her, so my guess would be that they are indeed taking the bike path."
"Impossible," Mai then stated simply, admiring her long, delicate fingernails. "Kasiya's bike was damaged the other day by two trainers, so they're probably traversing underneath it in order to get to Mauville. My guess would be that the two of them are heading to Rydell's Bike shop to get it repaired." The grunts looked at her in awe, each blinking in turn. "It's elementary, boys," she said, flashing them a playful smile. "Do your homework so you know what's going on." She flipped her hair behind her head and turned to leave the communications port. She had a mission to prepare for.

((Gaahh... Mai... so... hawt... eek )) Miharu ducked as the duo of fliers passed overhead, each trying to hit the other. She held another Park Ball firmly in her hands, waiting for her opportunity to throw it at the Butterfree. Aska knocked the butterfly to the ground, and looked to her trainer, signaling that it was time. Miharu took a deep breath as she reared back and let the Pokeball fly, crossing her fingers as the ball pulled in its target and clattered to the ground. The ball shook once. It shook a second and third time...
And the Butterfree burst out of the confinement once more, flapping its wings to try and get airborne again. Without being told, Aska flew forward, flying low to the ground and using her wings to kick up a cloud of sand into the Butterfree's face. It cried out, thrashing a bit as its plan had been foiled. Miharu took the opportunity to throw another Park Ball.
And this time, the Butterfree was caught. Miharu continued to hold her breath, eying the Park Ball suspiciously as though it were lying to her about what just happened. Tentatively, she picked it up and smiled at it before putting it into her pocket. "Butterfree," she said happily, looking to Aska. "Great job!"
The duo continued to wander around, although Miharu really was quite content with her captured Butterfree. Aska flew above her trainer, looking a little tired. They had just under an hour and a half left, although Miharu was seriously contemplating quitting early. She sat down in a patch of the shorter grass, Aska landing right beside her. "What do you say, girl, do we call it quits?" she asked the Pidgeotto, stroking the long feathers protruding from the top of her head. The bird Pokemon thought a moment, and then shook her head. "All right. We'll just rest for a few minutes. We may not win with a Butterfree, but at least we caught something, right?"

"Hmm... so what do we do now, Themis?" she asked the Manectric gently, now patting his head with her free hand. She still held Allegra in her other arm, and Levi had been recalled, having been a little more tired than she initially let on. She hadn't really moved from the spot where the battle ended, and she was contemplating heading back to Mauville quickly to get her two Pokemon healed up. A search of her backpack revealed several Antidotes, but nothing to cure paralysis.
Her PokeNav rang just then and she picked it out of her pocket, turning it on with her one free hand. Keegan? Where in Hoenn has he gotten to? she thought curiously, pressing the 'talk' button. "Hello... Keegan? Is that you?" she asked, realizing after she said it that it was a rather dumb thing to say. "Where are you?" She gave Themis a reassuring look, hoping that she hadn't gotten herself completely lost already.

"Of course it's me," Keegan responded, standing up his bike with one hand. He squinted up at the sky, looking to see if he could spot Artemis yet, but she was no where in sight. "Don't you have Caller ID on that thing?" He tucked the Nav between his ear and shoulder as he made sure his bike could stand on its own. "I'm a little ways along the path under Cycling Road," he said, still glancing around. "Where are you? Is Themis still with you?" Of course he is... I shouldn't worry about him so long as he's with Kasiya... but still, maybe it was it was because Themis was the first Pokemon he'd ever caught that had him on edge. He sighed, still keeping an eye open for his Swellow.

Elekid watched as the Zubat was taken down by Magby's attack. The small plug rolled his eyes. Please. He could do that if he wanted to. Really, he could. Well, actually...no, he couldn't. He didn't know Faint attack, after all. Shaking his head and dashing over to his trainer, Elekid managed to get on Kilik's shoulder as the boy was running after Mike.
Kilik didn't say anything as they entered the cave. He was more worried about where they would go from there. He tried to scout out where exactly the two large grunts had run off to, but they must've known a secret passage or two. They were completely gone. The boy clicked his tongue and cursed under his breath. He glanced over at Mike.
"So what's the plan now, Magma?" he laughed a bit when he called him that, "I'd figure, if I was part of an evil organization..." Kilik placed a hand on his chin and closed his eyes, "That she'd be at the lowest level. Maybe we could split up and look for her?"

Still sitting in the same spot as before, Miharu tossed the Park Ball containing the Butterfree up and down, catching it deftly with her hand over and over again. She and Aska had been sitting there for about half an hour, just resting. There was little over an hour left, and she checked her watch anxiously for the fifteenth time in only a few minutes. "Maybe we should keep looking for other Pokemon," she shrugged, leaning back in the grass and putting both hands behind her head. It was a very lovely day, and for a moment Miharu closed her eyes, just enjoying the feeling of the warm sun on her face and bare shoulders and arms. It was so peaceful, just lying there, that for a moment Miharu completely forgot that she was in a competition.
A sudden chirp from Aska caused Miharu's eyes to open wide, and as she sat up, the Pidgeotto took off with a quick flap of her wings, seemingly chasing something. "Aska?" the small girl cried, jumping to her feet and barely having time to get her things in order so she could follow after her Pokemon. "What is it, Aska? What do you see?" she cried, having to go around a battle between the only other girl in the competition (the one with the cute Aipom) and a shifty trainer with a Paras. Not having time to stop and watch though, the green-haird girl continued to run, her eyes trained to the sky in order to keep her Pokemon in her sights.
She was about to call out again when she ran headlong into something tall. Something hard. Something much, much bigger than she was. Wide eyed, Miharu tried to scamper back as the large Pokemon turned around, two dangerous-looking horns protruding from the top of its head. They moved together, much like a pair of scissors, a sort of growling sound coming from its toothy maw. The large brown bug glared down at the tiny human, it's pincers moving back and forth in anticipation.
"...Pinsir!" Miharu squeaked, closing her eyes as the Stagbeetle Pokemon lunged.

As Kirstie had two Pokemon, she and Jaeshan decided to do a two-on-two match, seeing as the Pokemon Center was just around the corner. The girl looked a little nervous, and as he watched her fumble with her first Pokeball, Jaeshan began to suspect that it was her first battle with a trainer. As she threw her Pokeball, Jaeshan felt a strange sense of familiarity as the Pokemon took shape in front of her - it was a Poochyena. It growled fiercely at Jaeshan, standing protectively in front of its trainer. Jaeshan couldn't help but smile, the attitude of
"My first Pokemon was a Poochyena," he commented, giving the nod to Beldum. The shy Steel-type reluctantly floated forward, watching the canine-like Pokemon with a paranoid eye.
"What do you mean 'was'?" Kirstie asked almost suspiciously, watching the Beldum bobbing up and down in the air.
"Well, he's a Mightyena now, you see. Was as in, he used to be a Poochyena. Now I just sound dumb, right?" Jaeshan shook his head, laughing at himself.
"No," Kirstie said. "I don't think so at all. It's kinda cool that you have a Pokemon that evolved," she said. She looked at her own Poochyena, who was still busy growling at Jaeshan and Beldum. Jaeshan could tell by the look on her face that she was imagining her own Pokemon's evolution. "So, are we gonna stand around here all day or are we gonna battle?"
"I'm ready when you are," Jaeshan nodded. "Ladies first!"
"Okay Poochyena... start things off with your Tackle attack!" Growling, the little Pokemon ran forward, jumping up to strike the Beldum.

"I didn't check my Caller ID," Kasiya said defensively, also looking around for any signs of her redheaded traveling companion. We haven't even started on that path yet, Kasiya thought, looking to Themis, and then to Allegra, who was asleep, nestled in the nook of her arm. "I'm near this creepy place called the 'Trick House' and you're already halfway there? How did you get ahead of me without me seeing you?" She was now turning in small circles, trying to figure out just how he'd gotten by her AND Themis without either of them knowing. "Yes, Themis is with me, safe and sound." She paused, looking at the Manectric for a moment. "Well, do you wanna start back this way, and we start heading your way and we'll meet somewhere in the middle? Unless you wanna do some magical invisibility trick again, pass me, and wind up back in Slateport all by your lonesome," she chuckled, nodding to Themis for him to follow her.

"You must have headed off the other way," Keegan said, already starting to head in the proper direction, pushing his bike while keeping the phone nestled between his shoulder in order to keep his hands free. "There's a route there, and if you follow it, it leads you to a lake. And if you cross it, you'll find yourself just north of Oldale Town," he said, trying to recall his Hoenn geography. He heard the cries of Artemis overhead, and as he looked up, the Swellow swooped down, nipping at him playfully with her beak. "Stop it, you brat," he hissed, swatting at the bird and nearly causing his bike to fall. "Oh, uh, not you, Kassie. Artemis. She's being- HEY OW! -a bit of a brat right now," he said, rubbing the top of his head as the Swellow had given him a sharp peck in the head. The bike did indeed fall to the ground now as he whipped out her Pokeball and recalled her. "There... dunno why she does that sometimes..." he muttered, now trying to fold his bike so he wouldn't have to push it any longer.

Giovanni applauded Mai's brilliant deduction and looked over at her from the corner of his eye. "I knew there was a reason I made you my second-in-command," he placed a hand on her shoulder and then moved his eyes back to the pictures on the screen.
"Don't be surprised that Mike was a Magma Admin. Remember yourself, Mai, that Kilik was a Rocket Admin, albeit a lower ranked Admin..." he laughed quietly, "though I'm certain Kilik's time in our organization was much shorter than the time Mike spent with Team Magma."
"Team Aqua and Team Magma's plans are much less practical than our own," he continued, "All they care about is more land or more sea. The capture of powerful Pokemon and using them to rule the world...that's a practical plan." The boss clicked through the photos, "Though I hear tell of an organization from the region our friend Professor Rowan hails from..." his lips formed a thin line. A competition for world domination between four different Teams? Things would certainly not be boring around here anymore. "Mai. I have another mission for you. Think of it as something to occupy your time until we attack Slateport."
"Find out as much information as possible on this organization from the Sinnoh region. I want to know if they're coherent, like ourselves, or just fools only concerned with land..." Giovanni turned on his heel and left the room, shutting the door with a SLAM! behind him.

"All right Paras! Keep sucking the health out of that Aipom!"
"Come on Luffy swat that little bug!"
Both of the two trainers were doing there best to cheer on their pokemon. Eventually the Paralysis wore off and Luffy was able to swat the Paras off of him with a powerful whap of his tail. This was not before the Paras had healed itself completely and Luffy's health was drained. Backing away from the mushroom bug Luffy was not to very happy at what had happened.
"Great work Luffy! Attack it and don't let up!" Robin ordered, she wanted to get as much damage done until the paralysis came back. Jumping to Robin's orders Luffy dashed forward again and did just that.
"Paras! Try to hold in there!" The young thief ordered worried for his small pokemon. The Paras though started to panic, it didn't like this flurry of attacks and the Aipom while nice looking before was scary now. So curling in on itself the Paras tried its best to hide in.
It was a good thing Luffy noticed this and slowly backed off of the Paras not quite sure why the other pokemon wasn't fighting back. It wasn't fair to fight against something that didn't fight back. "Luffy? Luffy whats wrong." Robin asked curiously not sure what was going on exactly.
"Paras! Come on. We need to battle if we are going to get stronger and catch a pokemon on our own." It seemed like the younger trainer was throwing a small fit.
"Wait, you were trying to steal my pokemon because you can't catch one on your own?"
"Yeah... Paras gets scared in battles and so I can't catch any pokemon." The young Bug Catcher sounded defeated as he went over and picked up the small shaking bug pokemon.
"Well why don't you train your Paras to NOT get scared in battle." Robin scolded as she bent down to scoop Luffy up and grab her pokeball containing her new Yanma. "It's not all right to steal other peoples pokemon they worked hard to catch." That being said Robin stomped off towards the ranger station ready to call it quits.

That taken care of Robin made her way to the Ranger station on the east end of the park where the judging was to take place. While Luffy was still paralysised in her arms he still managed to snuggle a bit down making himself comfortable. Once they made it into the station Robin handed off her capture to the attendant and made her way up to the second floor to wait for the rest of the contestants to make it in. Sitting down on a small couch Robin at Luffy on her lap somewhat worried about the status effect on him. She would need to visit a pokemon center to get him healed. That was what she thought until a super potion and a paralysis heal appeared in front of her face. Blinking a few times she stared at them for a second before looking up to see that they were being held by a tanned hand.
"Well are you going to be taking these Miss. Knight?" Came an amused voice from behind her.
Leaning back Robin followed the hand holding the items to a strong arm and even farther back to an amused face. "Oh Ampersand! Did you get these for me?" She asked curiously a small blush on her face.
"Well I certainly didn't get them for myself now did I?" He asked still amused as he placed them down on her lap before hopping over the couch and sitting himself next to her. "Now don't let my trip to the pokemart go to waste Little Missy."
Nodding a blush still staining her cheeks Robin sprayed the Paralysis heal on Luffy causing his muscles to loosen up. That done she set it aside and picked up the super potion and sprayed that on as well. Her gifts used up Robin turned and grinned up at Ampersand. "Thank you very much. You didn't have to." From her lap Luffy grinned happily at Cool Hat Man and jumped over onto his lap.
Letting the Aipom on his lap he hesitated for a moment before reaching out and scratching his back. "Well, I felt like doing something to warm you up to a proposition I will be asking you in a bit." There was a small grin on his lips, Robin couldn't see his eyes since his hat was pulled down obscuring her view of them.
Confused at this Robin just blinked at stared at him not quite sure. "Umm... Ok..." On Ampersands lap Luffy was very happy at the talented fingers scratching his back.
