Atemu stared down at Yuugi in utter confusion. Why was this boy so happy to see him? Why wasn't he afraid? It made no sense at all, who in their right mind would be moved to tears of joy at the sight of their killer? Sure, Yuugi didn't know that Atemu was hear to kill him, but he was still a complete stranger. He wished he could understand what the boy was saying to him. One phrase in particular had caught his attention. Mou hitori no boku...
He shook his head free of the thoughts. His mission wasn't to figure out what made the boy tick, it was to make him stop ticking. He looked down at Yuugi again, still glued to his waste shaking from all the vrying he was doing, letting out an occasional sob. Atemu realized that he simply couldn't do it. The boy was just innocent, Atemu bet that he couldn't even hurt a fly if he tried. What was the purpose in killing him, it seemed like ruthless, unjustifiable slaughter. Maybe that's what Onuris wanted to test him on, how much guts he had. Well, this was one test he was going to have to fail.
He was not, however, just going to walk away. He concetrated on the shadows within himself, and slowly they started to form around him, outlining the shape of his body. This outl;ined suddenly pushed away from him, creating a shockwave that blasted Yuugi backwards into the wall. He smirked, satisfied that he had done his job. After all, Onuris had said that he could take care of Yuugi anyway he liked, and had never actually said that he had to kill him. He turned and started to walk away back towards the plane.
((;-; this is definitely one down-side to being Atemu, poor Yuugi! But anyway, I figured that even though we are all speaking english, it would make more sense to assume that the japanese characters are speaking all japanese, and the Egyptian all arabic. That was the whole Atemu not understanding Yuugi thing was about, if anyone was confused.))

Jounouchi's eyes widened. How could this happen? Atem would never do that! But he did. Was this even Atem? Before he had even finished thinking these questions, Jounouchi was over by Yuugi, lifting him slightly so his head wasn't on the cement. "Atem! Why the hell did you do that?! You just hurt Yuugi! You'd never do that!" Jounouchi was surprised to find his eyes brimmed with tears.

((And now poor Yugi! XD Poor hikari's in general. ^.^; And yeah, you're playing Atemu really well! x3 And yeah, it makes sense they couldn't understand.
Edit- Didn't see Ookami's post! Hold on while I add. ;3)) Yugi yelped in pain as suddenly he was thrown against the wall by Atemu's attack. Pain shot up his spine, shock, confusion buzzing around in his head.... But he shoved it aside, staring wide eyed after Atemu. He.... what..... "Atemu...?!" Yugi's brain could not accept it.... It was one thing to see him.... but.... No, Atemu would never attack him.... not his other half, not the one that had protected him for so long.... In an instant, his dream had suddenly become an impossible nightmare..... Physiclaly, his whole being ached, but it was nothing compared to the sharp ache radiating from his heart. Yugi closed his eyes tightly. No... it couldn't be Atemu.... Atemu would never hurt him, but.... he could sense him... he was right there.
....there was one way to see. Not even sure he wanted to know the truth now, sick and confused, Yugi murmured over their link. ~Atemu.... why?~ Yugi stared up at Jounouchi as he helped him, his large eyes lost and confused.

Atemu...why?
Atemu stopped dead in his tracks. Again he had heard that voice, the one that had called him ealier, talking to him from seemingly nowhere. He whirled around, looking every which way for the person who had spoken to him. His eyes locked with Yuugi's. Now that he thought abolut it, the voice he was hearing sounded a lot like him, only...only as if it were coming straight from his mind.
Perhaps Yuugi had some sort of telepathic powers? Maybe that is why he hadn't been able to kill him, that Yuugi had been controling his mind? No, he was sure that the decision had been his own. He couldn't kill the boy because, as strange as it sounded even to him, he felt a connection to him. He could almost feel Yuugi's sadnees as if it were his own feelings. It was not a comfortable sensation.
He knew he should leave, get back to Onuris, but he couldn't. He was ground to the spot, his eyes still locked on Yuugi's.

Ryou fell to his knees when he felt the outbreak of Shadow Magick.
"No..." he murmured, turning from his spot in the grass, somehow feeling that Atemu had actually attacked Yugi.
"Atemu-san, how could you?" Ryou spoke aloud, not meaning for it to really be heard.

Atemu's confusion was only growing by the second. 'Don't ever leave me again' Yuugi had asked him. But why would Yuugi be so hurt by the thought of him leaving? And when had he ever left before that would make this an "again." Yuugi seemd to have his heart set on the fact that they had met before. But it wasn't just Yuugi, the other two boys seemed to think they knew him as well. So either all three of them were completely dillusional, which he highly doubted, or there was something going on here that he didn't know about. He considereed the possibility that this was a part of his test, that all of it was staged. But that seemed unlikely to him. And the more he thought about it, he had recognized Yuugi the moment he'd seen him, even without a picture.
"I don't know what you are talking about." He finally replied, doing his best to keep his tone steely an calm despite the turmoil going on inside his mind.

((Ok, this is the last post of mine before the others get a chance. XD))
Yugi didn't appear to register or understand Atemu's words... and he didn't indeed. There was a slight familiarity to the language- probably egyptian, or arabic, something he heard Malik say before. But the words themselves were lost on him. He didn't know what Atemu said, but.... the way he said it, the steely coldness.... Atemu had never spoken to him like that, and it seemed to hurt more then the attack itself.
What in the world was going on? This wasn't how his wish was supposed to come true, it wasn't how everything was supposed to happen.... Yugi was close to shock, numb, confused, having no idea where to go and probably would have been completely lost if Jounouchi wasn't their to support him.
The only thing he knew was that he couldn't stand loosing him again, on top of everything else.... he didn't even notice his own body shaking violently now.
What he didn't know was the true source of the problem- this was not his wish coming true.

Jounouchi looked down at Yuugi worried, "Yuugi..." Shooting his stare to Atem with a feirce look on his face he suddenly realized that he no longer had a problem seeing Atem as Atem instead of "The Other Yuugi." He didn't want to think of this guy as a part of Yuugi if he was going to hurt Yuugi. Jounouchi got up, gently setting Yuugi down, 'What language was that? Egyption? Does he even know Japanese anymore?' "Atem, can you understand me? Why did you attack Yuugi?" He was holding himself back from tackeling the pharoah.

|| Looks like Seto's the only one missing out on this meeting, I better remedy that. ||
One Seto Kaiba, finding himself annoyingly distracted, was gritting his teeth as he typed furiously on his laptop. Yugi Mouto had vanished at an incredible rate, Katsuya Jounouchi bounding after him. All kinds of stupid things were happening, and he felt very, very frustrated- no longer having an opponent to take that out on, there was no release of tension.
After the fifth error-code popped up on his screen, he slammed it shut, seething. He stopped moving, listening to his own breath, trying to slow it. And then a single line reached his ears, distorting in his mind, twisting.
His eyes moved to a certain meek boy, Ryou Bakura, and his eyes narrowed.
Yugi leaving. Jou. Weird feeling. Atem. Atem!
He took off, leaving all his stuff behind- he didn't even remember any of it, at the moment. It wasn't important, anyway.
He did a fair bit of headswiveling as he got outside, eventaully rounding around a curve- stopping dead in his tracks. There he was. There they were. ...God.
But something was wrong, somehow. Atem frozen, confused- he was never like that. Katsuya shocked, tearful- around the two puzzle-bearers? Never. Yugi struggling to stand, hurt. And with the time that had passed, only one thing could have hurt him. Blue swiveled to the king again, and Seto fell a step back. God. Oh God.
It was wrong, all wrong. His head was swimming. 'Why are you here, Seto, what are you doing?' Everything was going wrong, these days.

Out of the corner of his eye Atemu saw another student approach. This one, a rather tall brunette, stopped dead in his tracks, and stared at Atemu in shock. Everyone was staring, at him it seemed. Stares, of shock, confusion, anger, hurt. What he didn't understand was why. Althought he knew it didn't really matter, shouldn't matter, he found himself wishing that he could communicate with these people.

The level that Yugi's mind acknowledged Seto's arrival was very distant. Even Jounouchi, his pillar of support in this shocking experience, didn't have his attention. The world seemed to stand still, until all there was was himself and his other half, staring at eachother. Yugi's eyes were tearful, head tilted up, pleading with Atemu. Memories fluttered through his mind- that smile Atemu had only for him, his calming, protective presence, the nights they would stay up, just talking.... And that last, final moment, the first time they had touched, really touched.... A tear fell, but Yugi didn't notice. What happened to destroy all that? How did Atemu get back at all..... and why did, in doing so, he loose everything that he had struggled to get back, and everything he had gained in the way?
~Please, aibou*... my other half.... please don't leave me again....~ Yugi's eyes squeazed shut, and he trembled, though his soul seemed to reach out to Atemu, pleading. ~I can't stand it.... when you're not here....~
((*ADK likes 'aibou' better then 'partner.' XP Maybe cuz all the wild west movies that reduce it to something less then it should be or something.... maybe cuz the word 'ai' in it.... but it just seems to mean more to me. Plus, it sounds cute. XD))

Atemu knew that he needed to leave. He needed to get back to Onuris and hope that there was some way to avoid a serious conflict after completely failing the mission he had been brought here for.
But he couldn't bring himself to leave. Yuugi's pleas were just too much, and thought he wasn't sure why, he didn't want to hurt the boy anymore than he already had. But that was another curious thing, when Yuugi talked to him mentally, however he managed to do that, Atemu understood him perfectly. Maybe, he could find out what was going on afterall...
~Yuugi?~ He asked. Half of him prayed that the boy would reply, the other half hoping that he wouldn't even hear him, since Atemu knew he shouldn't be doing this.

Yugi's heart skipped a beat and hope returned to his eyes. ~Atemu!~ He wanted to get up, run and hug him again, but the pain spiking through him at his weak attempt to do just that abandoned that idea. It was him though, it was really him.... but that also resulted in hurt.... ~Why..... why did you attack me...?~
((Once again, I hope no one minds.... but I don't think they'd really be able to do much while Yugi and Atemu talked mentally anyway. ^.^; ))

Ryou shyly walked over, standing about a foot away from the others, half thrilled, half curious, and half scared.
Trust me, really long story on the three halfs, call it left over Bakura.
