Jean-claude stepped up beside kat and pulled her to her feet. "what is the meaning of this ariel... kat is under our protection.. you cannot just come in here and take her like this."
ariel smirked. "i know... thats why i have them.." she pointed to ahneeda and cassie. "if you want your friends back you will give me the girl."
kat glared at her. "you will release my brother."
ariel burst out laughing. "what makes you think i would do something like that?"
"because if you dont, i promise you, you will be dead before the next nightfall." kat stared straight into her eyes as she said it and the smile on ariels face seeped away.
"tough talk from a weak individual bothers me not little one." ariel exclaimed.
"if shes so weak then why do you want her so badly?" anita asked.
ariel glared at her. "none of your business servant."
"do not address ma petite like that. you will show her the respect that you would show me." jean-claude snapped.
"of course." ariel replied.
there was a very long silence between the 2 parties. kat glanced back over her shoulder at one of the pard she had recently met. aubrey... he was closest to the enemy. he gave a slight nod and she hoped he understood what she was about to do. suddenly she lunged forward....slashing out at ariel.
"NO, KAT! dont take first blood!!!" anita screamed.
kats leopard claws barely missed ariels neck as she jumped back and hissed in defence. just then aubrey lunged forward snatching something from the air.
"ha.. you have bad aim b***h." ariel said haughtilly.
kat smiled as she moved back to anita and jean-claude's side. "no.. i have very good aim."
aubrey walked forward very slowly to stand beside kat and the others.
"alright.. lets make this trade." kat announced.
anita and the others stared at her. "you cant be serious..." anita began.
"trust me, i know what im doing." kat replied.
"well a generous little wench isnt she." she joked with her assistants behind her. she pushed cassie and ahneeda forward as kat began to walk forward.
kat touched ranulf's face and stroked his cheek. "we'll be together again now." she ran her hand down his neck to the chain that held him captive and with one great yank she jerked it out of ariels hand and threw it towards aubrey.
"WHAT IS THE MEANING OF THIS?" ariel shouted.. then smiled. "you might as well give the chain back... im the only one who can get that collar off... i have the key.." she stopped in her sentence as she felt around her neck..there was nothing there... "where is it... where is itt??" she panicked.
"looking for this?" aubrey taunted as he dangled it in the air.
"give it back... NOW!" ariel demanded "jean-claude you cant let them take my pet."
" you have done this to yourself. you did not abide by the rules of engagement and thus they are free to do as they please. now i suggest you kindly leave my home before i release my fury apon you." jean-claude said quite pleased with kats plan.
aubrey moved to ranulf's side and undid the collar, then helped him to his feet.
"you better do what he said... we dont give second chances around here." anita stated.

ariel snarled at jean-claude. "no you will not take my pet from me.. he is mine.. MINE i tell you." ariel lunged forward in a blur of speed and in a matching blur ranulf lunged forward in his wolf form and slashed out at her. there was a crimson spray as he sliced into her neck and severed her head. everyone stood there and stared at ranulf for a few moments.. then kat walked up to him and touched his arm tenitively (sp?)
"sorry... ive been waiting for that moment for 3 years." ranulf growled.
kat smiled and her eyes were bright as she hugged her brother. then she looked over at aubrey. "nice catch."
"aww shucks" aubrey teased... "it was nothin."
then kat averted her attention to anita and jean-claude. "how can i ever thank you for what youve done..." she began but jean-claude held his hand up.
"no thanks is needed.. all we ask is that you be there for us if you are ever needed." he replied.
"of course we will." ranulf replied. then he walked over to jean-claude and knelt. "with your permission.. i would like to stay in st. louis and serve you until my honor debt is paid."
jean-claude looked at anita."what do you think ma petite... is it not a good deal to have 2 beast masters among us rather than 1?"
anita sighed heavily holstering her gun. "well richard's gonna have a cow, but theyve prooven themselves to me, so i say yes."

(btw, great job uzu! having kat take the first swing but not actually drawing blood to get ranulf released, just perfect! and also with manda, cassie is the most human in the room, she needed to be behind everyone, just in case something worse could have happened)

"Hey? Where did you come from? I didn't see or even smell you come in?" asked Ahneeda (hehe i really did forget about Blaze and Edward, and im the one that brought Edward in, lol) "And yes, there are three left now, Hans and two other, who they are, im not sure?"

"I'm Blaze," she said absently. She didn't look directly at Ranulf but she kept glancing at him out the corner of her eye. "I kept in the back until I was needed, which didn't happen. And I imagine you didn't smell us because of the tenson and adrenalin." She said to Ahneeda.

"Awwww how cute, your brother doesn't want to loose you again. Oh yeah I forgot about Valek and Robert, well i hope they are just as easy to kill as Ariel, espeically now that we have Ranulf, Kat, Blaze and Edward on our side, along with the pack, pard and good vampires"

"Well I guess that's my cue to leave," Cassie said, trying to hide a yawn and pulling out her phone.
"The offer to bunk with me was extended to you as well," Jason said, making Cassie laugh. "Yeah, right. I choose life Jason!" she joked.

"You're going to go home after everything that's happened tonight?" Blaze said deadpan, looking at her strangely. Cassie shrugged and nodded at her. After a moment of silence Blaze said, "I'll go with you."
"There's really no need. I have a friend that drives a cab. He'll give me a lift once I give him a call." She went away from the crowd a little bit and began speaking into the phone. Blaze still watched her, eyes narrowed.
"Something wrong?" Edward asker her quietly.
"She looks like she could go into shock." Blaze noted. "You're worried about someone?" Edward asked. "Not particlarly. Just wondering..."

Cassie came back over to everyone. "I'll get picked up in about half an hour. Until then I think I'll go upstars and keep watch. I'll ask Helena when I get home what she thinks about these new vampires."
"Helena is the wiccan?" Jean-Claude asked her. She nodded her reply. "I think that would be wise Cassie. Tell her everything that's happened. It would be exteremely helpful if she has any insights." Cassie said goodnight to everyone and went to go upstairs.
"I'll go with her," Blaze said, starting to walk out the door to catch up with Cassie. "Someone has to make sure she gets in that cab alright. I'll take the first lookout shift while I'm up there. I think considering what's happened so far it's a good move."
