Depends on the beach, the majority is white sand, but there are some black sand bleaches on the big island

Yup, went the lava solidifies its black and that eventually is broken down into sand

I've actually seen it on the Big Island. Also you can still see Kilauea erupting/oozing

Well as long as it isn't erupting and just slowly oozing out you can get very close to it heck, even stand right over it (it feels warm...the air that is)
