Zeruel held his hand up and forced the spinning pieces to remain stationary.

"I'm sorry to hear that. I know it wasn't very far back for you, and you probably won't forget it even if you lived a thousand years, but you can't blame yourself entirely for what happened that day. You have a gift that is also a curse, and I don't know if your father knew about it or not, but he should not have hit you, regardless of if he knew or not," Zeruel said, lightly placing his hand on Nara's back. "Things happen in this world that people like to blame themselves for, even if they didn't do it. True, your powers caused the crisis, but it's everyone else's fault for being in the building."

Zeruel tried to cheer her up a little, and he hoped it was working, "I mean, true, the people probably wanted to be around you cause you are very beautiful, but they should know that someone as good looking as you could be very deadly, and they decided to stay anyways..."

Zeruel gave a small smile as he tried his hardest to cheer Nara up.

"Because you never asked for your power. Now, if it were Psionics, like I have, which is something you have to actively learn, then I would let you blame yourself. But as it's not that way, I'm refusing you the right to blame yourself for your power," Zeruel said, seriousness in his voice and face.

"Sometimes it's better to lose all control then it is to have constant control. Perhaps after you realize you have lost control, you can regain a better understanding of how to control what you lost," Zeruel said, his body emitting a faint aura of shadows as he tried to keep the outside world unaware of what he and Nara were doing.

"To gain control, one must have already lost control," Zeruel said, remembering what one of his past teachers had told him. "Once you learn what is needed and what is not, you not only save energy, but you save yourself from unnecessary hardship."

Zeruel's aura grew a little bit stronger as he walked back over to Nara and knelt down in front of her.

"How it is that you can sit there, on that fountain, and say that you asked for your power, when it was gifted to you before you were born is beyond me, though you should not blame yourself for what happened when your power protected you from danger. Even if it was your own father, your power registered him hitting you as danger and protected you as best it could," Zeruel said, looking directly into Nara's eyes. Zeruel's eyes were a mix of silver, emerald green, and blood red.

"As for why I said that I refuse you the right to blame yourself, well... I firmly believe that you cannot blame yourself for what happened. I've given my reasons, now I give you the choice of what to do with that knowledge," Zeruel said, standing up.

"Let me tell you a little trick I've learned about Psionics over the years. Right now, you could bring up a fireball in your hand, turn the fountain to ice, and a shadow elemental stand with us, and no one in this town would ever realize it," Zeruel said, glad that she had understood what he had before and grateful that they could change the subject a bit.

"My little trick is based on a shield construct that I can create, and I program it to avert people's attention from everything under the shield. True, it doesn't work on strong willed people, though those types are hard to come by in the human race, as a strong willed person typically has the ability to use some form of magic or even psionics," Zeruel explained. "I also have telekinesis, which I can reform and interact with physical things using my mind. The section of fountain that you damaged, it's repaired."

"And had you gotten close to hurting anyone around here, I would have stopped you before you knew what was going on. Ten seconds to you would have been almost an entire minute to me if I used my amulet," Zeruel said, drawing attention to his amulet.

"Now then, let's put this whole ordeal aside for a while, and start our adventure. What say you?" Zeruel asked after a few seconds. "I would much prefer to have some fun rather than dwell on past and painful events."

Zeruel gave a mental sigh of relief. Bad things had been avoided, and they could finally progress with other tasks that they had planned.

"Well, if you want, we could always find a secluded place and run your tests. It may help you relax a little in the process," Zeruel said, finishing the last little bit of the hamburger he had been holding. Zeruel gave Nara a smile and released the shield around them, letting his shadow aura disappear as he did.

"I think I might even know of just the spot to go, though it would require something new on my part in order to get us there, as it is truely secluded in a mountain chain," Zeruel said, thinking of one of his previous training areas he had used.

(Chances are, we are likely to have to go to PM or something of that nature, as there isnt a thread here for that, and it would be pointless to create one for that purpose, though its your choice.)

"Alright, though it will likely feel really awkward for you, unless of course you have shadow stepped before," Zeruel said. "Which, mind you, I doubt you have done, as it would require extensive training in Umbrakinesis."

Zeruel re-created the illusion shield around them as he began emitting his shadow aura again, however, this time it was much stronger than before, almost completely enveloping him in shadows.

"Brace yourself, Nara. Once you have, let me know and we will move to the mountain," Zeruel said, his voice an odd mixture of his normal voice and a resonnating echo.

Zeruel's shadow form moved to stand directly in front of Nara and paused a moment.

"Here we go," Zeruel said, wrapping his shadowy arms around Nara and enveloping her in shadows. He lifted her slightly off the ground as he turned around and walked into nothingness.
