Just me >.< I really wish I had some 'minions' to control. And in reference to my chair, I was 1st chair by default in high school, but I also was first chair in middle and in F.Y.O. Junior Symphony, so that's got to count for something...I hope.

Conn (model: 8 D)
7. Hardest song ever played?
Either Slavonic Dances or Armenian Dances.

Middle school and high school. I'm in college now and sadly had to stop.

not really

No. I swore an oath of fealty to my Horn.
11. Inside jokes of band??
Yes, I just can remember all of them. We eventually made a "12 Days of Band Camp" and sung it at out winter concert. "On the first day of band camp, the director said to me...go to page one!"

My Conn was rose brass and I really liked it that way. Although black laquer would have been interesting.

I did Solo & Ensemble (didn't like it), Florida Youth Orchestra (Junior Symphony), AllState (middle school), AllCounty (high school), F.S.U. summer band program (between middle and high).

Not on my instrument, but my case was free game...oh yes. I had many. My favorites were: "I talk to squirrels. Chikoo chikoo chikoo."; "I refuse to enter into a battle of wits with an unarmed person"; "Don't interrupt me when I'm talking to myself"; "WOOT".

*cries* I was walking down the stairs during the FSU summer program and I slipped and fell, banging my horn against the banister, resulting in a horrible double dent that couldn't be banged out. I had to patch it! gonk
16.Do you look good while you play your instrument?
Yes....except when the song was super fast and there was no room to take a breath and I was turning purple.
17. Best compliment for your playing?
My Beginning Band director (in 6th grade) said that I had more raw talent than he did (and he'd played in the US military band).
18. Weirdest instrument you've ever seen?
Finger cymbals. I just don't get them for some reason.

In the beginning, but I grew out of it.
20.Least liked section?
Saxophones. They always tried to drown me out (it wasn't fair! I was just me and there were four of them!)

I was a band geek. My personality is quirky, but not to the point where anyone has ever (in a non-affectionate sense) called me a dork.

Set up? rofl I just stuck the mouthpiece on and I was ready to tune. Poor poor saxes and clarinets and oboes.

I have talent, but unless I was really having trouble with a song I never needed to practice. So I was lazy, but I didn't suck.

Marching band: ugle mustard yellow jacket with black trim, black overall-type pants with a yellow double stripe on the side, dickies, Dinkles (the shoes), cumberbunds, hat. They got new uniforms the year after I left. scream
Concert band: standard issue dress shirt, bow tie, cumberbund, black pants and shoes.

I don't practice, I'm pretty talented. For Small Ensembles, the BD put me and the other 1st on 1st chair, then had an upperclassman Bari switch down to Alto to help out the sucky second chair guy I mentioned earlier. Sad thing is, THERE IS NO HELPING HIM.

I have a TON of friends in band. In fact..all of my really close friends are in band. So yes.

1. I play the clarinet, and a little piano and alto sax.
2. My clarinet's name is Adelaide (it's French).
3. Second clarinet in symphonic band (being a freshmen sucks) and in orchestra, but second chair in district auditions and state auditions.
4. My band director is awesome. he gets annoyed when you talk too much or play crappy, but other than that he rocks and does some great impressions of instruments.
5. There are 6 clarinets and in concert band plus another 4 in wind ensemble.
6. Buffet R13. Only the best.
7. Hardest song I ever played was the Weber concerto I had for state auditions.
8. High school freshmen.
9. My family goes to all my concerts but not the games. My real band geek family are my friends who are in the band and at every concert, especially a certain floutist who visits the middle school band reguraly with me.
10. Dated a french horn player once, that didn't really work out. Still in love and have been for many years with the alto player who ignores me, and then there's the amazingly gorgeous trombone player.
11. We have our inside band jokes, but they aren't that exclusive, it's just that when we compare a person to a song or instrument no one ever knows what we're talking about. Also, my friend and I use the "one time at band camp..." a lot and everyone's always suprised when we actually have a story that goes after it that isn't perverted in any way. Huh. There's one band camp story about slugs. And then there's the one about tape....
12. If I had a purple clarinet I would be the happiest person alive.
13. I play the clarinet in our local orchestra and the summer commuinty band. I also play recitals in the spring. I play the alto in the jazz band.
14. My old clarinet case had a butterfly sticker, but I'm too in love with my new clarinet to do anything to mark it.
15. On several occasions the bottom half of my clarinet has dropped off (once during a concert) but thankfully no dents have insued. People have learned not to come close to my clarinet or I'll eat them.
16. When i play my clarinet I look like a monkey.
17. After our middle school band played an exhibition at the state conference one of the teachers at the college we were at (U Maine) came up and told me that he was a clarinet player and that he thought that i sounded really, really good. i get compliments frmo my directors and teachers and familey and friends all the time, but because that was a college proffesor and some I didn't know that one made me feel the greatest. I swear my smile was a mile wide.
18. Sousaphones are a little strange looking, but in an amazing sort of way.
19. Tap your foot? Only when the trumpets forget how to count to four.
20. everyone hates our percussion section in concert band because they suck. The wind ensemble however is really good, and one of them is pretty hot.
21. Lessons? Every Wednesday afternoon with this guy who lives in my neighborhood in the garage apartment of the girl I've hated since second grade.
22. I like quizes. They're fun.
23. The sophomores in my section are pretty awful most of the time and they know it, but the upperclassmen in wind ensemble are all pretty good and most of them are pretty nice. The other freshmen clarinetist is one of my best friends and we've been playing together since sixth grade.
24. My friends tell me reguraly what a band geek I am, and I agree whole-heartedley.
25. It takes me about a minute to set my instrument up, though that doesn't count the five minutes I spend sucking on my reed. It takes me forever to clean it though. I'm always the last person in the band room.
26. I practice almost ever night, sometimes multiple hours because I have no life.
27. Pretty much all of my friends are in band, and if they aren't than they're in chorus. I have nothign to talk about with unmusical people.
28. Fortunatley I have avoided the freshmen pranks due to the fact that I could pass for a senior (no joke, was asked to sjow driver's lisence at 12, have been mistaken for college student when i say I'm a "freshmen")
29. Concert attire you just have to look nice, our marhcing band uniforms are bllue and white and centuries old and smell funny and are pretty ugly, really.

None. I take real good care of my instrument. My Sax has an engraving on it. It says "Freedom" and its got like fireworks and stuff. pretty cool.

In middle school, I did a playing test so I could be seated. The person who beat me for first chair beat me by half a point. My bd said that I deserved first chair seeing as how Chris didnt play for a year or practice at all. I took that as a compliment.

Well, there was this one bump where I fell on the stairs of some high school for Festival. -_-;; And my flute fell out of the case and all down the stairs. I've also hit my friends on accident with my flute, causing some damage, but not noticable.

Oh, not too long. I've gotten use to it. Set up the mouth piece, connect it to the body, then the lower half goes on. Very quick. :3 No reed involved.

My instruments fairly new so thiers only one. My friend Ashley and I were practicing and I said something and she threw a drum stick that happen to be lying around. Needless to say it hit my flute instead of my head.
