Kirana smiled softly, "I wouldn't know," She said, giggling. "I suppose they would...just know it. I think you'd really have to ask a dragon to get and answer to that. And I would really appreciate the help getting everyone's name, especially if it's a large clutch."

Nestren waited as it seemed like Ariath had started to slow down the laying and looked a little off color. "Do you think she is almost done? Oh, if I become a dragon rider...I will tell you everyone's name!"

Remia hurried into the hatching grounds, pausing a moment to lean against the wall and catch her breath, hand pressed to her collarbone. She'd taken a runner outside the weyr to gather some implements for dye, and hadn't heard the news until she'd gotten back. Gotten back much, much too late for her liking.
I hope everyone will tell me what I missed! she thought, and looked up around the grounds, seeing dragons and flits perched everywhere as flute music wound its way through the air.
Sounds like Heroe. she thought, and smiled.
She made her way up into the seating area, hoping for a better look, and saw several groups of people standing about watching the big event. She stopped near one group, and peered down over the railing, trying to count the eggs, but failing as they were hidden behind Ariath's wing.
"So amazing..." she breathed, and her eyes shone, the basket of roots and berries at her feet forgotten.
She glanced over at the people next to her, and asked hopefully, "Any idea how many?"

Carella glanced up at the girl who had just entered, for a moment lost in the sounds of the music that was now filling the grounds. It was a pleasant tune and one she could easily become lost amongst. She hadn't felt this content for a long time, but if only she could have someone to talk to. She was still rather new and being the shy sort, hadn't had much of a chance to talk to anyone.
At the question of how many eggs there were she gave a small smile and stood up to catch the other's attention. "The count reached five before the queen decided to start hiding them I believe." Flushing a little at speaking so easily she gave the other a timid smile before holding out her hand. "I'm Ella, pleased to meet you."

Orana walked down toward a couple of the Wyer folk talking. Remia and Carella the thought but wasnt sure...she had seen many people around but never really talked to anyone. "Hey" she called walking down still her queen on her shoulder and its tail around her neck.
Ithean lept off the ground and flew around Orana and the Queen Malathan. Orana watched the two and waited She listened to the music played by Heroe and sighed it was a tune to get lost in but she didnt carefor music much. She smiled at the two she had walked over to. Orana scatched Malathan's eye ridge.

Remia smiled at Carella, and took her hand. "Remia, and the pleasure is mine!"
She looked down at the sands again. "Five, you said? This seems like it will be a large clutch then..."
She was distracted from her watching of the sands by Orana walking over with her two new flits. Remia had heard about her impressing both a gold and a bronze, and she had felt just the slightest twinge of jealousy before ruthlessly brushing it aside.
"Hello, care to join us? Maybe introduce your flits? They're lovely!" she said, and watched the bronze fly about the girl and her queen.

"Oh thank you" she smiled "I am Orana, This is Malathan and Ithean" she motioned to her Gold then Bronze. "Arnt they just lovely" she grinned scatching the Queen Flit's eye ridge.
"I would like to know your name" she smiled once more and bowed her head gently. "Five Eggs is a good sign" Orana grinned "This will be a good clutch" She looked to the Queen Dragon on the sands...

Remia blushed across her cheekbones. She couldn't believe she'd let her manners lapse that much!
"I'm sorry! My name is Remia, and this is Ella!"
She stared longingly at the flits for a moment, watching Orana scratch the eye ridges, and then half reached a hand out, asking hopefully, "I don't suppose... could I?"

"Its a pleasure to meet you both" Orana smiled nodding. Orana laughed "Of course you may" She held out her arm to the flit asking it to go there. Malathan nodded her small scaly head and lumbered onto her arm. Malthan Expected to get more scatches if she went. Orana grinned at the small flit as Malathan reached out neck to try and touch Rimea's hand.

Remia smiled delightedly as the queen came towards her, and she obligingly ran her fingers along the eye ridges and rubbed the golden head knob as well.
"Such a beauty," she cooed, and looked the little queen over, taking in every inch.
"You take very good care of her, not a dry patch to be found!" she said, and continued her careful ministrations on the small creature's eye ridges and head knob.

"Thank you" she smiled Keeping her queen moist was very anoying though Her small Flit Derserved it. Malathan Cooned as Remia scatched her eye ride and gave her praise. Ithean Chirped jumping onto Orana's neck. Malathan stetched her tiny wings then folded them once more and enjoyed the Scatch. "She likes you, though she likes Everyone who gives her a good scatch and Oil" she laughed.

(( sorry about that, got food, got involved in an IM session.. and momentarily forgot. O.o; ))
Remia smiled. "Well, I'm glad she likes me, even if it is just for the scratches. I'm willing to give scratches whenever my hands aren't otherwise occupied. And what about this handsome fellow? He looks like he's getting a bit hungry for attention as well!"
She indicated Ithean with her free hand; the other one was still occupied with Malathan.

Carella nodded in greeting to the other girl, eyes following the firelizards and watching them in wonder. Her brother's little one back home had been the only other she had seen up close before now.
"You are very lucky." She spoke shyly, "it must be wonderful to have such pretty friends as those." She giggled quietly, watching Remia make a fuss over them. "You chose very nice names for them both."

"Yes He does like attention as well" she smiled scatching Ithean with her free hand. "Thank you" she said smiling to Carella "It wonderful to have such Friends" she happily said. Orana grinned "What do you think of the Clutch" She asked Them both looking toward the sands and the mighty Golden Ariath on them with her clutch. Ithean Chriped happily as he was scatched bt Orana His tail around her scarfed neck.
