"Thank you sir and oui, I have back pain all the time!" the rust haired male laughed nervously. He took a moment to glance at Elijah's extreamly festie outfit. With a bright smile and a wink of Vermillion's indigo eye he stated, "You have a better Noel outfit than I, sir."

He pulled his coat closer. "What nation are you, if I may ask?" he asked shivering. He really hated the cold, even if he loved winter. Winter was beautiful, from indoors.

Scyeth shrugged. "The photo booth sounds good to me." Pictures were fun. Scyeth assumed it would be an average mall photo booth. Those were really quite amusing, perfect for funny faces and funny poses. Scyeth wondered if a sprig of mistletoe (...were they called sprigs?) would be hanging there. Oh, the possibilities! (Mistletoes were for kissing, right? Scyeth had done a little bit of reading. What better way to fluster friends than with stupid customs he didn't exactly get yet?) His lips curled into a wicked grin and he looked at his companions. "Let's go!"

Hmm. "Hey Zhi, your sister works for the school, right? Is she at the party too?" Scyeth still had to meet his roommate's sister. From what he heard, that woman was right up his alley.

Photo booth? More sighed. He at least knew that Dr. Manneth was running the place, and for the sake of god he hoped the poor doctor was handling the event nearly as well as he was, which was not well. He nodded to the two boys as a sign of agreement, and smiled, but said nothing. It seemed as though the two were exceptionally close with each other, and the young man felt rather...shy in front of the two. Well, shy was not the exact word, out of place was more like it.

Alex had a curt reply ready, but snapped her jaw shut at the compliment. Of course, it reopened moments later in laughter of the appreciative kind, putting her hands on her hips. An expression between a gape and a grin crossed her face as she listened, deeply amused. "Well aren't you a sweet one," she chuckled to herself. She extended her hand to take his, giving it a firm shake beneath bell-sleeves. "They have many inappropriate nicknames for me, as Weiyuan there can likely tell you," she lifted her chin towards the annoyed Chinese boy, "but the name is Alex. Pleased to make your aquaintance, Hyuga. C'mere, you've got a duck tail going on." She used her hold on him to pull him (carefully!) to the booth, smoothing his hair down with her free hand. "There ya go. Nice color." This said, of course, from a woman with hair like midnight.

Giving another cheeky grin and a wink, she released the youth to accept more tickets from game players. "Right that way, and be careful when you lift the mallet, it's--...boys, stay back!" she growled, dispersing the group that was getting too close to one trying the strength meter. "Anyway," she huffed, adjusting the coat with a dazzling smile as though she hadn't had to repremand a few hooligans, "nothing wrong with a little cheer, and I applaud you for sticking up for belief." A lecture for holiday cheer, really, she could give those teachers a lecture of two of their own!

"The Whack-A-Mole is easy enough if you're fast, but I like the one over--BOYS!" she bellowed, tossing the tickets down and stalking around the booth like a blue panther. "What part of 'stay back' did I say in a foreign language?" Alex rounded to the Test Your Strength game and took the large mallet from one of the boys like it was nothing more than a stick. "It's heavy, and if you swing it like that, you're gonna take someone's head off! Now, like this," she demonstrated, swinging the thing in a perfect arch from her leg, up over her shoulder and directly onto the pad. The notch rose high and slammed into the bell, setting off more lights and noise.

"You gonna listen to me now, kiddos?" she smiled sweetly, handing the mallet back to the boy who had given his tickets. "S'what I thought. Have fun!"

RuiZhi beamed ear to ear. "I haven't seen Doctor Manneth for some time, it'll be good to see him agai...Alex? Y-yeah, she's-"

He turned in time to hear a tale-tell shout, able to see the pristine coat and bob of black hair that was his wily sister. RuiZhi made a strange noise in his throat, pointing in the direction she was as the bells and whistles went off. "That'd be her...the one showing off." The boy turned back to More, adjusting his collar thoughtfully, "Did you want to go say hi first, sir? Take a look at the games, maybe?" His smile was small but earnest; the situation wouldn't be so awkward if there weren't so many darn people!

The sturdy youth still hadn't introduced himself, but maybe his sister would acknowledge him by name so RuiZhi didn't have to wonder. Brown eyes watched More with a tad bit of concern; the tall boy seemed to be a little off, and quiet all of a sudden. Probably just the crowd getting to him, like it was to RuiZhi himself.

From a pale pink tint, Hyuga went scarlet straight to his ears when the woman pulled him forward and fixed his hair. Alex's touch was light and comforting, like a tepid breeze. It would figure that he'd miss a patch of hair. Upon receiving her compliment on the color, his bright white smile beamed brightly at her. "It's a pleasure, Ah-Lex," Hyuga chirped, his voice cracking when she stalked around the table after the guys horsing around with the mallet. When the bell chimed from Alex's mallet work, Hyuga's jaw dropped clear off his face and onto the floor in surprise.

"That's so... damn..." were the only words that could stumble out of his dumbfounded lips and twisted tongue. Never had he seen a girl rock a game that tested strength, and put all the men to shame. Cupid had to be making his rounds early, as a puppy-love infested arrow would have pierced Hyuga's heart, at the sight of the woman's unbelievable exersion of strength. So as to avoid making a fool out of himself with his wirey frame, Hyuga nodded a breathless adieu to Alex and proceded to check out the less physically, humilating games.

Greg let out a deep sigh and ran his fingers through his hair. He knew that he should be back at the booth but it was so crowded that he just really needed a break. Granted he had told the people there that he needed to get more plushies, so that the could all have their own person to remember Shinkami by, (not that there really was a need) but what they didn’t know wouldn’t hurt them.

Right now he just wanted to be around someone who wouldn’t yell and scream and push and shove. And certainly someone who wouldn’t try to grab him. He had decided to take a little break, so he had closed his shirt, and tried to get the bells to be silent. There wasn’t much that he could do about the bright and vibrant red color but he supposed that enough people would be wearing it that he could blend in.

He didn’t realize at first, as he weaved his way between people, that he was working his way towards the magic building, (A place that he knew relatively well thanks to his frequent trips to visit Dante) but as soon as he did he stopped. Shaking his head he closed his eyes for a moment. Hiding in the magic department for a while wouldn’t work, especially if he wanted peace and quite. Dante would probably send his crows after him, since the Elf wouldn’t speak to him himself…

So Greg looked up and glanced about. If he couldn’t get peace for a few minutes then the least that he could get would be a few minute with someone that he didn’t have to try to sell something to. After a surprisingly short look around he caught sight of Shinji. He knew that they weren’t the closet of friends, but he was certainly better for what he wanted then most of the people back at the booth that he had left.

“Hey, Shinji.” He said, going up to the magic user. “I’m glad to see you out here. Having a nice Christmas so far?”
PostPosted: Thu Dec 27, 2007 9:59 pm

Master Kyuu Shinji had not expected someone to come up and talk to him. He had, in fact, least expected a science teacher, not to mention someone who was supposed to be responsible for one of the prize booths. Shinji raised an eyebrow before turning around to smile and greet the red-head general. He bowed slightly, taking the cigarette in his fingers for the moment.

"Why, good day, general Larine. I had not expected to meet you here."

For Shinji, Greg was someone he'd never met if he free to choose. For one, the two excelled in completely different interests, and two, Shinji would never come to the magic department unless it was part of his duty. He had heard rumors about such a general in the science department, however, about how the handsome man was the romance interest of the majority of the few girls on the island. He thought even Irame had a high opinion of General Greg Larine, the magnificent hero during war times. Human wars were not part of his business, and the sight of Greg right now...well, he looked more like...a clown than a hero.

Of course, Shinji had the grace to save himself from blatantly stating such opinion. He folded his hands behind, and politely waited a counter-greeting from the all too flashy general.

Irame's blush, it seemed, had not been wasted on Micajah's eyes as he smiled softly back. Watching this Elvish woman proved to be more interesting than he'd originally thought it would be due to the changes in her speech patterns, her voice tones, and he all around facial expressions. For all appearances he could say her actions were just like that of a normal human woman...but would that mean all humans acted just like elves? Who was to say there was any difference?

That thought actually entertained him for a while, enough that he was zoning in and out of his thoughts until it dawned upon him that someone knew had joined the party of three, although it was someone he did indeed recognize.

"Professor Veilwood. It's a pleasure."

Their meeting had been very brief when it had occurred, it also being the time when he'd met two fellow students by the names of Elijah and Nathaniel. It of course occurred to him that the professor may not remember who he was at all, as the encounter was indeed quite brief, but he had not forgotten the man's face. It was a neat trick of his to burn into his memory the faces of all that he'd met in his past, so perhaps in the future he wouldn't feel like an idiot when they came to call on him again.

This encounter, of course, was the perfect example of his skills at memory.

"What are your opinions on Santa Claus? We really moved to this topic on account of the professor's rather spirited costuming, though I feel he'd be a bit small on the end of a real whip and tether."

He winced a bit at the end of that joke and quickly pushed on in his conversation piece, hoping that it wouldn't be noticed and instead would be quickly overlooked and dropped.

"But in any case, I think Santa could have been a student of magic somewhere along the line in order to make his reindeer fly, or to be able to be in several thousand places at one time. Or perhaps he has a doppelganger that does his work as well."

That was dumb, and he knew it.

Greg bowed back to Shinji. He had been going to give him a pat on the shoulder, but handshake, pat, bow it was all the same. And once you spent a little time around Elves you got really used to bowing. That and a bunch of other weird things… That really weren’t weird anymore.

“A good day indeed.” he agreed with a smile. “Which is quite nice considering that all of this is outside. Anyway I didn’t expect to see you either, actually. I sort of expect you to stay inside. I guess that Christmas just brings out a bunch of surprises, hm.” He said, lilting his voice up in a sort of half question. “Regardless of whether or not I meant to see you, it is nice.”

Dagger stumbles around in the growing crowd, trying to fight off a wave of panic. He hated crowds, especially with his features being exposed. He quickly puts his hat back on and tucks his hair under his coat, and looks around for some kind of escape........ but his eyes get drawn to the gaming area, where a hammer game catches and holds his attention.

He drifts up to it, noticing that Wei and Zach are there still...... interesting. Mayhap he could introduce himself........ Best to wait and see. He studies the game, noting that whoever had the foam hammer smashed it against the things popping out of holes for points....... it seemed simple enough.

He cautiously advances, slipping through the crowd effortlessly. His ears are still trained on the general roar of the crod, hoping he'll hear that familiar voice again.

Scyeth sighed. God. What a bunch of deadbeats. More didn't seem particularly thrilled to be here and RuiZhi seemed...well...scared. The blond wasn't quite sure what he was scared of, after all, it was just the mall all decorated for the holidays. Maybe it was because he didn't understand the holidays? But neither did Scyeth, so it wasn't like he could embarrass himself. Even if he did do something incorrectly, it wasn't like the Australian would now. But that aside, maybe RuiZhi just didn't like the mall, or large groups of people. RuiZhi definitely didn't seem like the social type, and as for More...? More was a little more social when it was just the two of them, and why did RuiZhi call More 'sir'?

...so many questions!

Scyeth finally realized he was still hanging on to RuiZhi and blinked. Hmm. Maybe that was part of the problem? He let the other boy go and looked around. "We don't have to, if ya don't want," he offered with a shrug. Really, they didn't seem enthusiastic about it. "Was there something else you wanted to do?"

Lorioth was startled by the rather sudden appearance of Ardanay, and a fiery blush instantly blossomed into being and settled on his cheeks. Looking down at his rather “festive” attire, he knew that there would probably be a lot of teasing and jokes to follow after. He returned the other’s smile with a tentative one as he stammered softly, “Ahh, n-no you’re not i-interrupting anything. Good to see you, Professor Veilwood.” He bowed his head respectfully to him; proper respect must be shown to one’s head of the department, of course.

The doctor listened to the conversation that swirled around him, silently wondering how their conversation had taken the form of Santa. Luckily, Micajah voiced his question in the form of an answer which was followed by a quip about how he’d be rather small at the end of a whip and tether…? A bit confused, the teacher’s burned even more brightly as he absentmindedly fiddled with the bell around his neck.

The weight of the camera pressing into his hand reminded him of his uncompleted mission of actually returning and running his booth, and as he had nothing much to add to the conversation of Santa, now might be a good time to make his exit.

“Umm, I think it’s time for me to get back to my booth now. Too much neglect really could make it go dusty and the headmaster really wouldn’t want that! But, you are all free to come with me or visit me anytime,” he said, leaving an open invitation at the end.

Professor Veilwood smiled warmly at Irame and nodded, "Very good to see you." For it was true, he nearly never left his office these days and he had not been on familiar terms with many of the elf-staff to begin with. Then again, he wasn't familiar with many of the human-staff either! So he really was becoming a hermit these days! "I am enjoying myself very much, the air in my office was a tad stuffy, what will all the plants I'm growing." It wasn't a well-known fact, but the head of the science department did indeed love to grow things and oft times would fill his office with greeneries.

He turned his head at Micajah's question, and just when he was about to answer -very seriously mind you- that Santa simply could not exist, Lorioth caught his attention again. Ardanay had been so happy to find the other and chat with the student and fellow staff, he'd hardly had time to notice the other's outfit, and now that he took notice he certainly felt the need to poke fun at the other. Since they were good friends, there would be no harm done, but Ardanay would have the last laugh.

"Lorioth, I really think the headmaster himself should be scolded for making you walk around like that! It's so very festive that you really don't look like a doctor at all! Why! He's demeaning your position!" There was a gentle smile accompanied by a light chuckle as he poked a few words at the other. "I'll be sure to stop by later, I'm very interested in what the headmaster is making you do." The holiday seasons always seemed to lighten up his mood and make him a bit more cheerful himself. Though he was usually serious, and he did realize he was showing another side of himself to a student, the chance to have a laugh with Lorioth was irresistible, especially since it had been a long time yet again since their last meeting.

Weiyuan snorted a 'show off' underneath his breath. Even if she wasn't really trying to she was. How typical for Alex. The brunette looked to the boy Alex had fixed and rolled his eyes, catching the other's blush. It was just Alex. "She's out of your league kid."
