shaon closed her eyes, waiting quietly for the night to die, though it was fresh. she then stood, she wasn;t quite ready yet, she had things to do. she stood and gripped the cross and began walkign again, pulling her cape behing her as she walked.

as the night dragged on, shaon continued to as well, finally coming to a dropoff at the end of the forest. a giant cliffface was in front of her, the groudn far below, at least a five hundred foot drop. she dropped her hand from the cross and stood there, a white gravestone sitting there. she pulled the cross off and set it down as she crossed her legs, staring at it. it gleamed in the moonlight and she curled up, head agianst it as she closed her eyes.

eventaully shaon fell asleep by it, her arms slippign from it as the necklace dropped from her grip, landing on the groudn beside her. the tiny cross gleamed as it hit thre ground with a soft mettalic ping. the sun was on the very tip of the hroizon, finally deciding to force the nioght away after shaon's long hike through the night.

shaon slept as the sun crept higher into the sky, its rays hitting the gravestone, but not waking shaon up. she remained in the cold grip of sleep by zander's grave.

Shaon vlinked, hiding herslef behind the grave to blobk out the sun. she couldn't fall asleep though, ans was content to lay huddled by the gravestone, tears rolling down her face. he woudl wait for her in death...wouldn't he? he promised...didn;t he? she sniffed back the tears, but they continued as the sun crept warmly into the sky as dawn gave way to day.

Shaon was oblivious of time as she lay with ehr arms aroudn zander's grave. he'd toppled off the cliff defending her from a vampire. the memory still plagued her. blood spattering everything, zander stepping in the way at the last moment, wrestlign both of them off the cliff as shaon screamed out for him, crying desperately as he and the vampire vanished from veiw. she'd run down as soon as she coudl and discovered the corpse of her beloved there. the vampire had melted from the sun, but zander had not. hos body broken, neck at a weird angle, arms snapped back, flesh and bone showing, eyes wide open and vacant, his silver plated gun in hsi ahnd and the cross around his neck. his chest had been ripped open, half of him spewing out... shaon cried as she remembered, why had this happened? it was because you weren;t strong enough. she savagely thought beneath the tears.

Shaon finally sleeped into partial sleep, thinkign of Zander as the sun began to mound the sky. noon. soon, very soon. she stood, kissing the gravestone and picking up the necklace, pullign her cape back on. "i love you, zander." she said softly, before beggining to walk back toward the village.
