Sykn's tail wagged behind her as she swam, her tail brushing Mailuk's paws every now and then. She took a breathe and dove under the water again. The chill of the ice cold water sent a shiver up her spin as she looked around under the water. She didn't see any fish, of course the water was a bit took cold on top. They'd be a lot further under. She came back up, shacking the hair from her eyes. "All the fishies are at the very bottom, it's too-o cold for them." She said, only stuttering once.

Mailuk shielded himself from the flurry of chilled water Sykn had shaken off, giving a shiver but then almost taking in an unneeded gulp of water as a bit of water hit his eye, rubbing it away with a paw. He then grinned toothily at the stutter he heard in her sentence, paddling on over to her and flicking a little bit of water at her playfully with his tail. So she was a little cold too! It was nice to know he wasn't going insane or anything with her around and the chilly water. "The fishies are down there?" He said, giving a tilt of his head and dunking his head underwater immediately, not seeing any fish around. So she was right! He popped his head up a moment later, bangs dripping with water as he said, "But won't they, like, explode or something from being there for so long?"

Sykn laughed, hearing his last question. It was a full, bright laugh. Usually she laughed quietly, but she couldn't help it. What Mailuk had just said was so funny. "What are you...insane? No they can handle the pressure. Though, they don't like the cold much." She said, still laughing lightly as she kept her head above the water. She poked him lightly in the side. "So, why did you suggest swimming?" She asked, curious as to why he had wanted to come swimming with her. Not that she didn't love it, she really did. She just wanted to know why, maybe learn a little something while she waited for an answer. She smiled, her ears perking up on the top of her head.

Mailuk's look of thought went blank for a moment before changing into a merry grin, laughing with Sykn as he realized how silly his question had sounded. "I'm not really sure if I am or not! I'll be sure to ask Raijin about that later on." He said, then rolled onto his back and just.... floated. He closed his eyes contently, but then flicked his eyes open to look over at her once again. "I guess it was 'cause I thought that it would be a fun thing to do. And you're a fun vixen to be around! But then again... There's that odd feeling of knowing that you might drown while you're at it."

Sykn shook her head at the thought of drowning in the water. That was almost enough to make her jump out at that very moment. It was cold anyway, maybe it'd be a better idea to get out? "Well, you're very fun to be around yourself mister Rosey~!" She said, adding a bit of a slur to his nickname. She smiled as she rolled around on her back and looked up at the sky. It was a pretty, clear night. The stars were bright and the moon was almost full. She loved it. She glanced back at Mailuk, a lightly blush on her face. There was no doubt in her mind that she didn't have feelings for him. She was still trying to figure out if it worked the other way as well.

Mailuk grinned cheerfully at Sykn's words, wagging his tail and rolling back around onto his stomach in the water. He floated contently, enjoying the moment of quiet between the two of them. The rosey fox really was happy right now. There was no one around to bother the both of them, the moon was bright and full, and most importantly: He was with Sykn. That made Mailuk smile to himself, glancing around the lake and then over at her, seeing the faint blush on her face, wagging his tail a little at the sight. He paddled over to her, giving a playful blow of bubbles at the water near her ears, then reaching over and giving her a lick on the cheek, blushing lightly with a happy grin planted on his face. "Want to know the best part about having you around? Swirly can pull off being cute so easily at the same time~"

Sykn's ears perked up as she heard him move around in the water. She glanced over as he blew into her ear and it twitched back, which actually made her laugh, but it stopped when she licked her cheek and the blush on her face darkened a bit. She always seemed to be blushing at what he had to say about her, or whenever they were together for that fact....should she just come out and tell him? She couldn't even think of anything to say, she was so flustered, she could feel the butterflies in her stomach.

Mailuk wagged his tail delightedly at Sykn's laugh, smiling to himself at the sight of the darkening blush on her face, visible in the light from the moon over the lake. He turned around onto his belly in the water, blowing a few more bubbles into the lake before raising his head up and looking over at her and wagging his tail. "Something on your mind? You can tell me~" He said, giving a toothy grin at her, laying his head back down into the water and floating next to her.

Sykn kept her eye focused on the sky, trying to think of something to say. Maybe she should go come out and say it already? What could possible go wrong anyway? He liked her the same way...right? What if something happened when she told him? She continued to stare up at the sky for a good five minutes or more before she rolled over in the water. No longer floating on her back. She blew some bubbles in the water before finally taking a deep breath. "I...Well-ll..." She stuttered a bit, thinking to hard about the words she was trying to day. "I...am pretty sure I have big feeling for you!" She said, with a little laugh. It made it easier to almost laugh about it, though she was serious. "I love you!" She finally managed to say, ducking half her head under the water, hiding the deep blush.

Mailuk listened intently, tilting his head to the side as he raised his head out of the water, flicking his tail slowly in the water. What was it that she was thinking about?... Was something troubling her? If that was the case then, he wanted to try to help her out, even if he couldn't at that time. All he wanted was just to be able to reassure her and... make her happy. He gave a laugh at what she said, about to say something back but was stunned at what she said next... She loved him? A dark, rose colored blush creeped up quickly across his face, looking over at Sykn as she ducked to hide her blush, thinking about what she had just said. "..I.... I think, no... I know I love you too." He managed to say, flashing a sheepish smile to her and then licking at her ears. It looked like she really did mean what she had said, with her blushing this badly and everything.

Sykn was still blushing deeply as he mention his feeling for her. So they had both been in love this whole time? Somehow that made her feel so much better for herself. Her blush was still on her face as she lifted her head out of the water and tried to think of what to say next. "Really? That so...great!" She said, perking up a bit with a smile on her face. She felt like dancing, she was so happy right now.

"I know! Isn't it?" Mailuk blushed once again at Sykn's reply, yet wagged his tail in the water out of happiness, sending a flurry of small bubbles and ripples around him. So she really had liked him... No, not liked, she had actually loved him back. The very thought made him give a toothy grin to the white and swirly patterned vixen, moving closer to her and giving her a playful lick on the cheek. He waded a little aways from her, then turned and looked back with a playful gleam in his eyes.

Sykn's ears twitched as she was licked on the cheek. She was so thrilled at the moment she hadn't been really paying attention, but that little lick was enough to snap her back into reality. She spun around in the water once and then started to chase after him in the water. Of course, she didn't swim much, so she was a little slower then he was, bu she followed after him. "I'll get you back Rosey!" She called after him, padding through the freezing water.

Mailuk grinned delightedly as he saw Sykn following after, wagging his tail at her words. "Oh, you will, will you?" He called back with a laugh, keeping his gaze on her for a moment before swiveling back around, paddling forward to get away from her. Oh, playing with her still proved to be fun, even after all the time they had been together! He ducked his head under the now less-chilled lake water, opening his eyes and peering around before popping his head back up and shaking himself to rid of the excess water.

Sykn was finding out that she wasn't the fastest of swimmers, but when Mailuk ducked under the water for a second she was able to catch up and she was right in front of him when he popped out of the water. She smiled at him lightly for a seond before licking his cheek and then nibbling on his ear.
