She smiled and then frowned at his words. "I know that..." She sighed and smiled again. "That is good to hear." She still wasn't quite happy with what he said, but it was enough. She stook her head up real high and said. "I will do what I want. And what ever happens, happens. I will turn the bad to good." Her words where more of advice she would never take herself but would always give to others. "Don't talk like that!" She put her hand on his cheek and stared into his eyes. "Every life is precious, no matter how long or short it is." She closed her eyes and smiled.

Raoul felt his lip curl as he surveyed the pair just beyond. Inadvertently he'd put himself into a rather awkward situation by becoming witness to what was obviously a lovers' tryst. Good to see that some people at least are enjoying something from this gathering, he thought dourly to himself, contemplating the easiest and quickest way to leave his current position without alerting the other two of his presence. Well I could always just jauntily announce my presence and leave through the nearest window...he snickered to himself. No...no need to embarrass ourselves any further.

He blinked as the change already began manifesting; a phenomenon that a vampire achieved only after walking the face of the earth for as long as he had- of course it didn't hurt that traces of his gypsy magic remained after his turning- soon a shadowy mist filled the space he once occupied and began floating innocuously up to moon darkened shadows of the room's ceiling. Raoul was more than halfway near his destination when a mischievous thought made him turn around to spare a glance at the actors of this loveplay- and he nearly materialized from the shock of it. It is not possible...

The dark mist swirled and thickened in the middle of the dance hall, much to the discomfiture of other guests, but this time the vampire didn't notice. His face was stretched taut with surprise, which was followed not to long after by anger. Those two up there...One he knew quite well indeed, and his fangs lengthened just from the thought..the other he knew of- well enough to know that by themselves either was a formidable threat. But together...

So this is the twinging tangle we weave tonight...shall the floors of this hall yet run as red as the moon above before the strike of dawn? He did not like this...not one bit.

Namine finished dressing. She looked back at Victor over her shoulder. The smile on her face and the tint of blush on her cheeks was well earned. She hadn't known it could be so wonderful. To be honest she thought he would be disappointed with her innocence. He wasn't, it was quite the opposite. She learned from him as he learned from her. She could still feel the aftermath of their passion and she was sure her blood was boiling within her skin. Somehow everything felt hazy almost as if she were floating outside of herself. Her skin was oversensitive as well making her feel the folds of the dress draping her body and each tiny jewel embedded within. She wished to walk out into the ball and share her happiness with the world. She shook her head knowing that would be foolish.

Namine had just experienced the most wonderful moments of her life and knew she would never forget this night nor the man who brought her to life. He gave her a taste of what living was truly like each sensation washing over her frame. Namine adjusted her costumed regalia making sure all was in place. She had yet to put on her mask. She moved to where Victor lay with a smile on his face as he admired her curves. Bending low she kissed him fervently. His form was deeply ingrained in her mind and she would never forget it. Rising she replaced the mask. Namine couldn't possibly have been more radiant then she was at that moment. She moved towards the door and looked back one last time..blowing a kiss as she departed.

Raoul growled with frustration, a hand snaking up to drag into his color streaked hair, still thinking about what he'd just witnessed...a part of him wanted to hightail it out of the party post haste, a part of him wanted to fly bac k up to the room and confront the other two and all of him knew the folly of doing just that... ah of all the confounded situations to tie myself into- so engrossed was he in his ruminations that he didn't look, and walked right into someone attempting to walk across.

"My apologies er..." Raoul blinked, struggling with correct appellative to address his victim. He stared at the white haired...person in confusion and unconsciously took a step closer. "Forgive me, but it seems I will offend yet again by my question and so I humbly beg your pardon...I am confused; you are either a rather boyish girl or....a talented dresser."

Blue lip's turned to a frown, Poinsettia didn't think the person he was talking to understood him so he sat down and ordered a drink; for someone who looked so feminine Poinsettia seemed to be able to hold liquor because he had ordered 'snake whiskey' and seemed well when downing it.
“…I need a man… are their any eligible bachelors here tonight?” he asked out loud as the porcelain like boy downed a little more whiskey.

When the man had aprouched and asked Poinsettia a question he sputtered his drink and choked, "I...uh...pardon? I..."

Raoul blinked and smiled, an eyebrow raised in knowledge, "Ah I see, a talented dresser. I do beg your pardon, I just wasn't sure..." He took a glance at the glass in the white haired boy (sp?) hand and his smile turned rueful, "Third time's the charm tonight isn't it?" Can I buy you another drink?"

Poinsettia bicupped, "Sure." he whispered softly, "What is you're name..." a red tint flashed across his snow like skin.
Turning his water blue eyes to look into the eyes of the man before him, Poinsettia smiled. His white teeth didn't seem human though they looked it. They were big in contrast to his painted lips.

"Raoul," he murmured softly, smiling for a moment before turning slightly, raising a lazy finger in the direction of the nearest waiter. "What's yours?"

"Poinsettia...for the flower..." his eyes downcast as his face turned redder, someone was actually talking to him and not scolding him for how he...was. How intriguing this fellow was.

Blue eyes closed as Poinsettia sipped the last couple drops of his whiskey.

‘- “Show the people up my boy!” said a mortal old man with sparkling blue eyes, “Go snag one, then show everyone what you can do.” An upturned smile, wave goodbye, the old man made sure not to cry.’

"...mmm...smells nice..." Poinsettia had gotton out of his thoughts by lifting a candle centerpeice and smelling it like a moron.

Raoul glanced at Poinsettia's hand and slowly encircled it, fingers gently reaching for the glowing candle, "Careful, that looks...hot" The skin just beneath his fingers was so smooth, it felt like warm marble.

"...yes... sorry, I tend to forget about fire." said Poinsettia letting his hands feel Raoul’s, the feel of his hand's interested him, he remembered similar hands long ago; He liked the feel
"Fire... Some say the world will end in fire;
Some say in ice.
From what I've tasted of desire
I hold with those who favor fire.
But if it had to perish twice,
I think I know enough of hate
To know that for destruction ice
Is also great
And would suffice
....Interesting, which do you like? Fire or ice, Sir Raoul?" Poinsettia had laced his hand without knowing it, into Raoul's. Just the feel made his heart beat fast.
His words seemed to be a soft whisper, quiet, just like the winters falling snow. Poinsettia's pale skin turned slightly colder, while the boy himself felt like he had a little more courage.

Raoul found himself leaning closer as he considered the question. He looked deep into Poinsettia's blue eyes and found himself sinking into them. They rippled and danced, blue upon blue, lightening and then darkening...widening, filling up the entirety of his face...threatening to consume him.
"Fire's sweet agony, I daresay now, will greatly suffice."

"Hmm...I'd take ice... Ice can burn the skin though it is not hot, stop the heart as if it were a dagger, cause death and plague... save lives... destroy the world... maybe even cool the burning embers to which have stayed aflame for far too long, that flame that so needs to be cooled. It has to be calmed and soothed into the sweet epiphany of ice's stoic yet influential heart strings. All ice wants is to melt and not be cold, yet fire is such a hot head that it may want to cool off... it's life isn't it, fire & ice... do you understand?" asked Poinsettia, his eyes seemed to be slightly more dull as if something he himself had said brought down his spirits. It was the words between the words.
"Fire is too hot, I want to cool it." he blew out the flame of the candle as if he were really ice setting out a flame that lasted too long.
"Also... depending on the ice or fire... it can play god can't it... that is the sick thing about the two."

Raoul listened to the boy's words as though they were the gospel and found himself nodding afterward, "Fire and Ice...hmmm I never thoguht of it that way. They both seem so different, yet they stand at the extremes of each other; Ice so cold, it burns and even at the heart of the flame it just wants to...die down."
He saw the sudden loss of luster in Poinsettia's eyes and frowned slightly, reaching with a finger to tip his face closer. "...gods, I wouldn't know about those...I have captained my own ship for as long as I can remember....but I know absolute power is never a good thing, is it?" He wondered if the boy had ever been under the power of something or someone, One with a penchant for abusing power, and felt a tightening in his gut.
((I gotta go..peace))
