"Huh? Oh nothing. Just thinking out loud," He replied. No lies there, even if it wasn't told in complete detail. People were already begining to crowd around the stage so he began to squeeze through the crowd just a bit while holding on tightly to Relm's hand so they would get seperated. For a moment he fought he spotted their new friends, but they slowly disappeared into the crowd.

His answer so was not enough to distract her from her thoughts -it only added to them with wondering what she could have missed and driving her nearly crazy with certainty that it was something she really wanted to have heard and... "oh!" Blinking slightly Relm squeezed through the crowds after Elijah, not certain when he had taken over leading and not really minding. She was very glad now to be without her cape and beret. This was no place for such trappings!

Thinking she caught a glimpse over her shoulder of one of the three they had met she tossed a smile with a wave of her free hand in that direction before moving closer into Elijah's side, hand tight with his. The pictomancer would admit to no one -not even herself- how she enjoyed it. "Espers! You weren't kidding about squeezing through a crowd!" Feeling energized already from the growing excitement around them Relm laughed, her fingers giving Elijah's hand a quick squeeze like a hug. Green eyes sparkled and so did the ruby on her forehead a little as her ears flicked eagerly. "I'm excited." Relm confessed almost sheepishly, going up on tiptoe to say it directly to Elijah's ear in as much of a hushed tone as she could in the crowd and still have him hear.

"Heh. Yeah, these concerts without assign seats are pretty crazy. The best spots are free game so you sort of have to push around a little..." He grinned a bit. "I sort of like these types of concerts more than the ones with the fancy seats and all, even though they're pretty cool too." He squeezed her hand back without giving it much thought. It was like a reflix in a way.

The anthro dog almost shivered after having his ear whispered into and a slight blush appeared on his face. Something told him his keen sense of hearing wasn't the total cause of the his weird reaction too. 'I don't know why, but she gets me flustered so easily sometimes....' "I'm excited too. This concert already seems as promising from the looks of it," He said. The two of them finally reached to the point where they were as close to the stage as possible. "Finally, got out of the sea of people... sort of..." Of course people were still around them everywhere.

Relm laughed, green eyes glancing around and taking in all the sights that embodied this moment of 'just before the concert' and ingraining them in her mind for reflection and painting later. This would add such a new edge to her paintings of and for Elijah. This experience of being here. It was exhilarating. Perceptive as she was, she missed Elijah's slight blush at first. "I don't mind having to be a little pushy."

heh. The precocious artist-mage had been a lot more pushy all throughout her life. She was mellowing somewhat, having a full family and knowing now who her father was and why he had left her & her mother. At having a friend.

Catching the tail end of said friend's blush Relm for a brief second tilted her head, one hand starting to raise as if to touch the coloration to see if it was real before dropping quickly. Her eyes just as quickly turned away, and almost smiling -internally berating herself for her strange actions. Really! It was just a blush! Barely that as it was, and probably just from the excitement of the concert and the proximity of so many people. "This way is certainly very exciting." oh Espers... was she reiterating herself? "Such a thrill!" It must be, her adrenaline was racing so high. Relm could not help more laughing -this time at herself. "Sometime I'll have to compare them all myself."

If her fingers twined a little more at the thought of more concerts with Elijah, Relm did not let herself think of it.

Elijah chuckled after hearing Relm's words. Was she repeating herself a bit or was it just him? She really must of been pretty excited.

The opening band came onto the stage first. Some of the crowd cheered for them while others wished the main event would come on already. "Opening ban huh...? That's a good gig to get for a band just starting out..." Elijah said, mostly to himself to speak allowed his thoughts. He stuck his free hand into his pocket, wondering how this band would go about starting off the concert.

The opening band was entertaining, but not too special in Elijah's opinion. A lot of the same tunes and rythms reminded him of other bands. It was like the copied and altered some other pieces of work. Despite that little bit bothering him, he grinned and allowed himself to enjoy that music. He was there to have himself a little fun as well, afterall...

Mint green ears flicked at Elijah's comment. Opening band? Was that something he was hoping to get a chance for with his band when they found one? Probably. Afterall... it only made sense. A new band likely did not jump to the big venues right away. This was not something Relm had a whole lot of knowledge about. It... kind of upset her actually. Not knowing. She had always prided herself on knowing about everything. Or at least thinking she knew about everything. She close to did... back on her old world. There were so many new things here however it was a lot to catch up on them. So though she knew more than most coming to their first rock concert, Relm was far behind what she felt she should know.

It was her self-appointed duty after all, to know everything. To be on top of things.

Then of course there was wanting to help Elijah.

Enough of those thoughts! With a flashing grin Relm turned her attention to the stage. Well... most of it. Green eyes could not help but flick to her friend to watch his reactions. Or to see how others were experiencing the concert, this opening band. Her keen mind whirled over all the input she was feeding it, stirring over decisions based on all she picked up such as how she should act for what impression Relm wanted to give as well as deducting what was actually thought og the band among other things. On top of all this... just enjoying it. Opening band or no, unspecial or no... this was Relm's first experience with live Roch music. The sounds of the lower instruments vibrated through the speakers and thrummed through her body. It was totally different somehow than going to the dance room and pumping up the tunes there. This was more... alive. Her fingers and the lower part of her arm wrapped a little closer around his. While trying not to think. Letting that be a... well something.

The band came to the end of their final song. There was clapping and cheering for them, but no requests for an encore. The crowd wanted the main course, the band they actually came to see. As the "real" band stepped out, there was cheering of excitement. The lead singer smirked at this reaction from the crowd. "You all had enough waiting yet?" The lead singer said into the microphone. More cheering came. The band started to play. Now this was much more like it.

Elijah grinned as he found himself liking this band a lot more. They weren’t too well known, but this band definitely had potential of getting bigger. Elijah especially enjoyed the guitar playing. The guy playing really knew what he was doing and Elijah was pretty impressed.

Relm cheered with others of the crowd for the opening band. It was her first experience with a live concert not at home with mostly acoustic instruments. Not only that, but it seemed the thing to do. Still there was more. As an artist, Relm understood how important it was -how good it felt- to have one's work, one's art, appreciated.

She was sure Elijah understood that too. Being an artist on his guitar.

Then the main band started and Relm forgot to cheer. Her green eyes went wide as even her little musical knowledge she could tell the raise in their caliber. She wondered what it could be like to someone like Elijah where music was his canvas. Where he knew the layers that were between amateur and master. Relm did not even notice as her hand tightened on Elijah's, how her shoulder pressed into his arm as she went on her toes as she leaned forward. Her other hand lifted, clasped in front of her heart. Her mouth opened in an 'O' imitating the wide set of her eyes. Relm thought she had seen it all, or perhaps hoped she had. Now she knew... This was not even the beginning of this avenue. This band, as amazing as she was finding them, the members were not masters.

What, she wondered, would a live concert of such masters of music be like when this was pumping her blood through the vibration of the speakers within her as much as any battle.

((all that... and it feels like filler. O_O))

(( I thought it was a good post. XD ))

The concert went on. The crowd didn't even realize how dark the sky had become over time since they were all so wrapped up in the concert. Eventually, it had to come to an end. The lead singer said his final words and said goodnight to everyone. The crowd cheered, still wishing there was more, but it had to come to an end.

Elijah grinned happily. "That was awsome..." He said and looked to Relm. He wondered if she liked it as much as she did. "So, what do you think?" The crowd started to move around them, trying to leave before things became to hetic.

Darkening sky did not even phase the former adventurer. Besides, she was a big girl now. There was also her first concert to enjoy.

Relm cheered, rolling back onto her heels as the band made its final leave from the stage. Large mint green carbunkle ears turned to catch Elijah's question & preciding the pictomancer turning towards him in response. Despite all her skills in acting, Relm was smiling and a little breathless. "Espers, 'Lijah!" She laughed, green eyes bright. "I think I'm still trembling from feeling the music." Which was right, for her slender five foot tall pixie-like body was vibrating slightly. "It's like nothing I've ever experienced before! So much to take in!" Green gaze flicked out of habit from Elijah's to check on the crowd leaving around them. Part of her wished the night could just keep going, part of her was bordering on exhaustion. Relm grinned up at the guitarist. "Should we go see if those guys're gonna meet us? We can talk on the way."

Elijah smiled at seeing the other's reaction. She really did seem to see music the way he saw it, even if she didn't play an instrument. Well she could sing...

"Really? I'm glad. It really is amazing stuff, what you can do with music. It feels even better when you're making music though. Up there on stage..." He stared up at the stage, remembering him and his old band performing. He missed that... "I can't wait to be up there again..." He looked back at her and nodded. "Yeah, I guess we should look for them. Did we say we'd meet them somewhere...?"
PostPosted: Fri Apr 18, 2008 7:08 pm

Perhaps not exactly as he saw it, but close. As long as she could compare it to painting. Relm smiled, absently running a thumb over the back of his hand as she made to move away from the stage. "Yeah... Back where we met them, if they weren't yanking our chain about it. That cat was acting pretty odd I think." The carbunkle female frowned lightly. Not that she had spoken of such a thing to Elijah -they were in this together- but that she was not 100% sure that was odd.

With a shake of her head and a laugh Relm tossed such self-doubt away. Really, it was quite unlike her! "I can guess what you mean about making music, 'Lijah. It's like painting for me: it can be a whole nother world while I'm painting." Speaking as they walked Relm smiled and squeezed his hand somehow still keeping it from herself that she was holding it at all. "You will be, Musician. That's what we're seeing to, right?"

Intelligence & cunning flashed in those green eyes as she smiled his way. She would not say they were scoping for potential bandmates. In her mind there was no need. They both knew that was the goal. There was no need to let anyone that could hear them know however. That was not cool.

"Maybe..." Sheepishly Relm turned to lock her gaze on where they were going with a shake of her head that sent light brown curls swaying accompanied by both a slight blush and an embarrassed -Relm had not known she could feel embarrassed- laugh. No... she would not say that. Could not simply up and offer or even suggest such a thing.

But the pictomancer knew and acknowledged that should her friend specifically ask her... she would. If Elijah really thought it would help.

"Eh, yeah he was, now that I think about it again..." Elijah couldn't think of what reason the cat had to act that way around them for. Too strange it was. Prehaps he was overly paranoid or something among those lines. Oh well, they would probably find out soon.

He smiled at her and gave her hand back a light squeeze before begining to wak by her side. There was no rush anymore now that there was no crowd to beat or show to make it on time to. It was nice this way. His green eyes glanced around every now and again to spot the small group that was supposed to be waiting for them somewhere. Back where they met if one of them bothered to remember most likely.

And there they were, near the food stand. The red panda and fox were speaking of things to each other as the cat leanded against one of the stand's walls with his arms crossed. His yellow eyes seemed to of already spotted Elijah and Relm since he said something to make the red panda and fox turn their attention to them. The red panda waved to Relm and Elijah to motion them over.

oh. So that was not common behavior in such a situation. Good to know. Relm's frown went away and she smiled once more. She was not worried as much as she did not like not being in the know. Call it a matter of pride.

Another time... another place... Relm would have hurried even with there being no need to do so. It was just how she was. Being able to remember near perfectly everything around her going slow just meant the possibility of missing the next big adventure. But this... this was nice. Relm did not even feel the need to fill the silence with chatter or even talk. Younger she might have. Or if many of the times in her glances around when she took in the angle of Eljah's profile she started to think about painting him specifically -and having to shake her head free of such thoughts.

Seeing that the three were indeed there Relm's smile burst into a grin which no one would be able to tell if it was fully genuine or somewhat exagerated. At the red panda's wave she started to lift her own hand... and in the process drew her own attention to how it was clasped with Elijah's. Green eyes went wide before Relm could even stop to think about clamping down on her reactions. Espers! When had that happened? Oh Espers... now what? She couldn't exactly drop his hand... not without causing some sort of a scene (and truthfully though she refused to admit it that was the last thing she wanted to do), which she certainly did not want to do. Espers! HOW had that happened? And her not to notice?

Espers... she was lying to herself now. Too good of an actress.

Relm let that hand fall the little she had started to lift it permitting the grip to loosen. Ball in Elijah's court as it were, though her cheeks she could feel had already procured a fair enough blush. He could continue the holding hands thing or not easily as he chose.

Oh! Did he realize they were holding hands? Espers! Trying to school her features otherwise to not show her shock beyond what she had let slip Relm could not and would not let herself dwell on that matter. At all. Back to her smile Relm raised her free hand to show she saw them and that they were heading over. "They're there, Elijah!" She said cheerily, unfortunately breaking their comfortable silence. Well not entirely silent for the sounds of ended concert were still mostly around them.

Elijah continued to hold her hand, fearing that if he acted like he noticed they were doing it, things would get awkward. So he simply gave her hand a gentle squeeze as if he were doing it absentmindly. He and Relm were friends, so this was probably just a friend thing to do between them. So what if it usually happened between couples?

Course... he had a strong feeling he was just not trying to think of the real issue and avoid what this was really about.

"Yeah. Want to hurry over?" He asked. He didn't really feel like ruining the nice stroll. It would soon end anyway since they weren't far away, but they could take there time he guessed....
