Why will they be left behind? Will they be injured, and to what extent?: Her mother is simply panicking. She lost her first litter to a band of malicious lions and she is determined to not lose another to some fire! Bad thing is that Niloticus, their father, isn't around to help. He was at the ceremony! As Thuraske tries to move her litter of eight, a burning tree falls between her and a few of her cubs. At that moment, Niloticus rushes in, shouting about moving the cubs north. Thinking the other seven are on the other side, he only grabs the one before moving his family to safety. It wasn't until they were out that they realized that they only had seven with them. Little Mzimu was left huddled in a puddle of murky water. As the fires begin to die down, she wanders the swamp disoriented but she's going the wrong way! The extended smoke inhalation will give the cub breathing problems which she will struggle to overcome for the rest of her life in the form of violent coughing fits and horrible sore throats that cause her to not eat for an extended amount of time.

Just as a note, she will be found but much later on through a separate plot if accepted.

Why will they be left behind? Will they be injured, and to what extent?: Nin will have wandered closer to the edge of things in curiosity, and when the panic started, would have gotten separated from her family. She would have hidden herself as best she could in a puddle, but would have gotten some burns on her back.

Why will they be left behind? Will they be injured, and to what extent?: Paw stuck in a root tangle, maybe; singes and minor burns, smoke inhalation, but mostly scared/emotionally overwrought than seriously injured. Maybe need help getting her paw out.
