Jadelyn's eyes flew open as Kamiru's voice sounded through the room. She arched a brow in confusion. Something to show me...? She sat up, readjusting her clothes and running a hand through her hair as she slid off the bed, walking towards the door. Her shoulders were tense, preparing herself for the worst. "Aye, I am awake."

KryssiRayne He drew his feet onto his chair, wrapping his arms around his legs and resting his head on his knees. He knew some of the people here, and there was one he had been trying to avoid. "I was born in this city when it was little more than a village of about twenty families. I've left it countless times, but it has never left me. Home is home, after all." He remembered the trees that had been cut down to make room for new buildings. He remembered leaving when he was still a little boy and fearing that he would never return. He remembered watching the city grow around him until he no longer had to leave to keep from being noticed. He took another sip of Chartruese, staying watchful of the people he knew, and especially of the ones he did not like. Maybe they wouldn't notice him. Zareb stared at the people on the dancefloor, He rembered his days growing up in the woods always being warned not to go into the city, He Remembered the day his brother left and never came back. After a couple of minutes Zareb started to feel on edge, it wasnt just the club, it was something else. He turned to Kryss "uh..not to be a nag...but when are we leaving?, this club is giving me a weird feeling" Zareb looked around nervously, it may have been this club atmosphere was overwhelming him but he felt it was time to go.

She sat up, readjusting her clothes and running a hand through her hair as she slid off the bed, walking towards the door. Her shoulders were tense, preparing herself for the worst. "Aye, I am awake." "You worry too much." Kamiru said, smiling. "Come on, your building is ready for you to open." He led Jadelyn to the main room, and pulled open the curtains so that the moonlight would reflect the room. It was painted, clean, and ready to be used. "I figured it was the least I could do, after all, I still owe you for the hotel, the walk, and the place to stay."

Jadelyn's eyes widened, hand coming to cover her mouth as it fell open in awe. She turned, staring at the now pristine room. Already her mind could see the tables and chairs she would buy at dusk tomorrow, her ink and tattoo gun upstairs in one of her trunks. Her mind raced with all the places she'd need to call for supplies, needles and sterilizers, books of flash...she grinned, eyes starting to tear up. Turning to Kamiru, she tilted her head to look up at him. "It's too much...I, I don't even know what to say." A tear slid down her cheek, tinted with the slightest hint of red.

"A...tattoo artist..." Karan said in disbelief. He walked over to the window and placed one hand on the pane. The moon was mezmerizing, so much that Karan did not notice he was slowly turning translucent right before the eyes of his new found comrades.

"I would be more than happy to leave now, if that is what you would like," he said, unfolding himself from his chair and finishing off his drink quickly.
He stood, glacing around one more time, and made sure that no one would notice them leave. The door opened before them with Kryss grinning at the owner's antics. It was not an automatic door that opened because they came near, but it was Rafael's mind that had opened it for them. It had startled him the first time he had come.
Outside lay shadows and darkness and a flickering streetlight at the end of the alley. He looked back to make sure Zareb had not gotten lost and walked down the alley the way they had come.
"Where would you like to go, then?" he asked, speaking with his mind for the sake of silence.
He wondered where the demon had gone and if they would run across any of its recent work in the form of mangled bodies and blood-coated walls and streets. He would need to find a meal soon; thinking so much about blood was not a good idea when he had not eaten in nearly a week. He was too easily distracted.

"The demon is only my problem if it threatens me or the city on a grand scale. A couple bodies don't bother me; the younger of my kind tend to take life as well, although it is usually less...gruesome."
He did not want to admit that the demon's mind was hidden from him. He had no way short of scent to track the demon, and he could smell nothing so putrid as it's breath anywhere nearby.
"I will not read your mind without your permission, if that is what you are wondering."
It was against his code of honour and what small code he had refused to budge any further than it had before he had been changed over six hundred years ago. Of course it had needed a bit of tweaking then, because when he was young there was no way to avoid killing those he took blood from.
He stopped abruptly at the end of the alley, just short of stepping onto the sidewalk.
"Where are we going?"
He thought back for a moment, realizing that tonight had been the first time he had not followed whoever he was with to wherever they chose to go. But then, perhaps, it was because this half-demon did not know the city. He refused to think extensively about it; he did not want to know if there were holes in his psychology that affected his habits.

You just get started with your business. You wanted to start, and now it's ready for you to. ...Karan, what's happening to you?!" Kamiru said, turning to Karan and seeing the wall through him. "Oh...the pendant only works for 24 hours, I guess. I'll try again." Kamiru went over his thoughts, and wished that the pendant would work, and Karan became human again. "24 hours of life for that?! I don't need him following me around waiting for his daily dose of life, for the love of God..." Kamiru said, sighing. "Still, I guess it could be worse. I could be grading papers..." Kamiru smirked.

Jadelyn grinned and placed her hands on Kamiru's shoulders, rising up on the tips of her toes to press a kiss to his cheek. "Thank you. You....thank you." She grinned at him and then stepped quickly away from him, not wanting to make him uncomfortable.
She sighed as she glanced over at Karan, shaking her head slightly before muttering to herself. "He's not staying here...I refuse to deal with his mis-placed anger every day.

"I have friends, although finding them is proving to be difficult tonight."
Kryss wondered where they were going. He was not interested in finding the demon, almost certain that it would find him, and he was not in the mood for another club. Music drifted from down one side of the street, softened by distance, and silence came from the other direction. The crowds would be found with the music, but he did not think the demon would risk capture by hunting in a large crowd of people unless he was an illusionist.
He glanced behind them, suddenly finding the shadows of the alley to be oppressive and ominous. The door to the AfterDark was silently closing. He had not heard it open and that bothered him. It was certainly not a quiet door and surely he would have heard the music that came from inside.
He suddenly wanted to be far away from the darkness and shadows and knew that it was a silly, childish thought. There was nothing in the darkness but the demon, and he had already fought him once before and walked away unharmed. Still, he wanted to be running through the forest in the form of some large cat, running for the sake of movement alone.
He showed no outward display of any of his thoughts, instead standing completely still as could only be done with much practice. Humans were always moving, even if only a little. Their eyes followed the things around them and they always seemed to sway slightly, slowly, to the rhythm of their heartbeats. He listened to his own heart beating faintly and was still as death itself.
"Where are we going?" he asked again, patiently and silently, not sure if it was because he wanted to be silent or it was some hidden fear that the dark might hear him. Either way, he immediately wished he had spoken aloud, although that might have simply been to hear his own voice and be certain he still had one.

Nightingale was walking through the city feeling rather lost. Then she passed by two odd creatures on the sidewalk. She stepped closer to them and asked, "Excuse me. Where am I? I feel I have lost my way. I just woke up this evening in a very strange place I don't remember visiting." Her eyes held no emotions but only her voice.

Kryss smiled at the girl vampire, knowing her kind from the aura that wrapped around her like shadows.
"The city," he said with a cheerful tone in his voice. "The greatest city in the world, although that may be only my opinion."
He bowed deeply with a flourish of his hand and a grin.
"I am Kryss," he said, rising and never quite breaking eye contact. "Welcome to my city."
He had not forgotten the presence of the half-demon beside him, but Zareb would greet the girl as he thought proper or he would not. The customs of other creatures had never been fully known to him.
