Koda gingerly placed a feathered hand on the nearest egg. It moved, and she jumped a little staring wide eyed up at the other girl.
"All of them are hatching!" the girl said, horribly exited, "It's a wonderful omen!"
Koda nodded, fingers passing from one egg to the next. Normally, each egg in a clutch hatches at it's own pace. An entire clutch that hatches together was said to an omen of good fortune for all that clutch's children.
"Incredible, quickly, go fetch their mother! And the matriarch! What are you waiting for girl? Hurry!"
There was no point trying to be quiet now.

((Lono is preeettyyyyy. *Steals him and hordes for her very own.* ninja And yes, Koda + Iris = a disaster waiting to happen. ))
"Today is a glorious day for the Mountain!" Kendra announced, eagerly shifting her attention from the drowsy male to the newly hatching clutch. A good sign. They had been blessed today, in more ways than one, and soon the beach colonies would come to hear the news, and more and more harpies would flock to her Mountain, to the safety which she so graciously offered them. What a celebration!
"We will extend the festival in honour of our exceedingly good fortune," the matriarch announced from her new place next to the proud mother and her clutch. "And we will send messengers to spread the word! Our colony has been blessed!"
Amidst the cheers and gasps and celebratory cries, Iris moved through the crowd, eventually taking wing to glide over them so that she might get a better look. Everything was happening today, and what a great event it was to witness! She would have to make more decorations, and more trinkets to sell at the festival. And of course gifts were required for the honored siblings and their beautifully colored brother. Gleefully, she clasped her taloned hands together. There was going to be much to do.

Aqua blue eyes stared as the beautiful eggs hatched. She took a step closer as she wished for a better look at the beautiful hatching eggs. Her feathers shivered as she swore a cooling breeze swept through the room. She had never witnessed a hatching before. Her eyes were wide with shock and interest. The hatchlings were completely beautiful. She couldn't believe she was able to watch this.
Watching she tore her eyes away to look around at all the harpies around her, watching the magical scene. Looking back at the eggs, Kalpana had a thought, maybe having eggs was a good idea, but then, with only two males one the right age and she was still a kid, the other only a bit younger then her and prized already, she'd stand no chance. Shaking her head she disregarded all of that train of thought to the back of her head and watched the scene before her.

Einin stretched her neck and stood on her toes to watch, mouth open in an O of excitement. Hatching! And all at once! What amazingly good luck - they'd been blessed!

Koda backed away from the nest and stood beside her mother, beaming. She had doubted the matriarch, and her party. But in the end mother had been right, hadn't she?
After all, where would Makani be if there had been no torch light or noise to guide him to the mountains? The red egg had truly yielded a male chick, as well as a favorable omen before girls of their own mountain and visitors alike.
All of Iris' best decorations couldn't have made for a better party then the one promised by the old woman.

Kalpana let a small smile appear on her face as she watched the hatchlings. She couldn't remember what it was like when she hatched, but she doubted highly that there was this big of a celebration, but she was glad she actually didn't walk out and fly off. Though in the back of her mind, Kalpana felt a small hint of guilt because she hadn't fully believed Kendra when she said the egg was male. But of course the Matriarch was right and Kalpana knew better then to question the Matriarch, but she knew it'd still happen either way.
Standing there she wondered when the party would move on, yes they hatched, but was the celebration going to suddenly stop? She doubted it but still she stood there watching the young male with curious eyes wondering what was to happen next.
