We all secretly knew that in fine print in the footers, Ms. Kay added several homosexual encounters between Erik and the Persian....okay so I missed the footnotes, but did you know if you turned the book upside down and flipped the pages there was an flippbook like animation of the Persian and Erik having hot monkey sex? (who knew Kay could get that graphic?)
...you... do realize that I'm probably going to actually try that when I get the book? sweatdrop *frowns at her seriously* What you think I'm kidding, no seriously...try it, *gigle snort*you'll have more to add to your question/rant/ensuing restraining order to Kay.

Oh well.. Good news for the phans who want to read it.. And as Polan pointed out at least I could get a new copy that won't fall apart within 2-3 years.. (I, for one, enjoyed the book.. Though I'm definitely not afraid to admit it has its -serious- problems here and there.. Though I tend to find the good in and enjoy anything phantom.. However I'm just a dork like that.. neutral )
Minus the Dario Argento Phantom at least. ^^;

I'm contemplating buying a better copy. Mine's not in the greatest condition (women I bought it from murdered the spine and took the bookmark) but it's not where it would fall apart. I take good care of my books.

Mine's in decent condition, but the spine is creased so the covering is peeling right off, the pages are a little yellowed and smell of pickles, and I didn't have the boommark in the back. Not that that's a huge deal. I've seen the bookmark.
The cover art they have for the reprinting is kinda 'blah' in my opinion though.

Yes it is, you can't really get past the original crying mask with a solid black background, it's just a powerful image that fits that single word title "Phantom" so well. Every so often while I was reading I would stop and turn to the front cover, contemplating what I had read...and then I would continue, the orignal cover art is almost haunting in that respect.

The original cover art for the British version was different than the one for the American printing though. I used to have an image of the cover for that one, but it's on my old computer.

Yeah, I have the American cover for mine. I like the fold-out thingy in the front, though. That's pretty.
The Canadian/British cover is pretty cool though. I just have problems with the hardbacks withe paper covers you can slide off. I'm very tender with my books and have a tiny wedge of OCD, so any bends or ripping drives me nuts.

Thats cool, my friend is a huuuuge fan of that book. In fact, its the only version of Phantom of the Opera shes interested in. I havent read it myself, but shes spoiled all of it for me, and the sexing up at the end sounds promising.
