You know, there is something I have been giving thought to recently, and this might be going a little off topic here, but lately I have found myself wanting to write a Kurama/Maya fanfic. Now, it would be strictly fannon of course, since most of us know what happened with those two, but I just have this cool idea for something. The fic would likely be set when Kurama is in college, and I was thinking that he might just happen to run into Maya there. Now of course she wouldn't recognize him, because he did have to play that little trick on her as we all know(am trying not to spoil it for those who DON'T know). However, I was thinking that he might recognize her, and maybe some old feelings would start to rekindle themselves, she would fall for him again, if only because there would be something so "familiar" about him. Now naturally Kurama would be hesitant of course, given the fact that his intentions to protect her will not have changed all that much, but slowly and surely a relationship would develop... and yeah ^^;

Like I said, it would be strictly fannon, since even thought the pairing was "cannon" in the manga(if you want to go so far as to say that) they still haven't seen each other since and we don't hear hide nor hair of her in the anime. Essentially since Maya is such an ambiguous character, she could almost be considered a fan character if one were to try and write her into a fic. Hence why I say my idea would be fannon. However, Kurama and Maya is a pairing that I have actually been wanting to explore more and more recently, and I think the idea of a long lost love is kind of cute... Heh, even if I know the entire scenario is sickeningly cliche ^^;

Personally, I like the idea. I think it's adorable and very endearing, but of course the plot twists will be so freakin' awesome here. Dude, please don't have Maya get erm...oh crap I nearly spoiled it. Um...don't let history repeat itself! (Oh, I'm good. ; D)

Personally, I like it just the way it is, just because what's so special about a sister or brother? I mean she's got the whole "Two Child Hood Sweethearts Reunite" thing going on, except FIFTY times more dramatic because it's Kurama and Maya for crying out loud! XD

Wow. If you like love triangles, you'll go ballistic over my story just because of how many opportunities for different relationships there are, and how well they could actually work out, that were never taken. XD

Basically, I insert my OC from when Yusuke is obtaining the Three Artifacts of Darkness. Already in her own little team, Koenma "asks" (basically forces) her to switch and work with Yusuke until he is stronger, has more experience, or finds a team of his own. The plot? Besides the actual canon plot, she's trying to overcome problems from the past she's been putting off that continually haunt her, as well as other problems that sprout from unwise relationships, foolish decisions, imprudent personality traits and just how life changes. : )

I think it's a great idea, Hoshi. I'd love to read it if you actually do write it one day. ^^ The thing about Maya for me was that she had to have something special for Kurama to be remotely interested in her, even though they were both young. (Though, the plot does kinda remind me of Light meeting Takada later on in life...though Kurama isn't quite the Magnificent b*****d that Light turns out to be.)
