Name: Khyn Tari

Age: Almost 17

Appearance: (keeping it as my avatar so as to not confuse other players!) Khyn's about 5'7" and 120 lbs with red hair, green eyes and a slight tan. She has long, muscular legs that have been toned by running. She's usually wearing the school's uniform or the track uniform. She has faint and thin scars on her thighs that she claims are from falling during running.

Personality: Quiet and serious, might seem stand-offish at times. Dedicated to achieving personal goals and sometimes berates herself for not being "better".

Background Info: Khyn transferred to the school during the middle of her Junior year. Her father had gotten a new job and so the family was forced to move. She'd been popular at her previous school due to her being a track star. She loved running but was finding that recently she'd become quite talented at the long jump. Viewers often commented that when she jumped... it was like she was flying...

The wind picked up slightly and Khyn could feel it brush against her cheeks like a caress. She felt almost weightless as her feet pounded on the soft dirt track. Her arms punched at the air before her as she raced around the track.

One more lap, Khyn... must keep...

Her chest was starting to hurt. A quick look at her watch showed that it was getting late. She'd been running for almost an hour now. She'd need to hurry if she wanted to catch the next bus home. She slowed and finally stopped, bending down to catch her breath. She straightened and walked to grab her school bag before darting off the empty track field and past the school. It was only a few blocks to the bus station but then it was about a 45-minute ride till she'd be in her new neighborhood.

She didn't realize that it'd been getting so dark or so late while she'd been running. Now, walking down the deserted street, she only had the streetlights to illuminate the way. She took a deep breath to calm her nerves and then quickened her pace. She arrived at the bus stop and as usual was the only person there. She sat down and pulled her school bag onto her lap. Her skin was still slightly moist from running but she really didn't want to put her school uniform back on, considering she had to wear it tomorrow. So she huddled on the bench, legs curled up beside her as she hugged her bag.

Shortly after his departure, a car filled with no less than four local gangers careens around the corner where he first appeared. They pull up next to Ami, Sasha, and Shana. "D'you see some dude come through here, 5'9" limping?" The thug riding shotgun asks, anger clearly displayed on his face. One of them, driver's side passenger, looks roughed up. Split lip, black eye, and dried blood under his nose.

Elsewhere, Fiasco limps to the school. Having left his car in a parking lot near a Ma and Pop Diner that some ganger's thought they could vandalize, he walks as best he can to the bus stop. Can't just walk home with some thugs out for some blood. Had to lose them first. Just another problem he'll have to mop up later. The damage sustained to his leg from a baseball bat wasn't too bad, but it was enough to make him not want to walk on it. Not too much farther now. Getting closer, he notices the young lady sitting at the bus stop. No doubt waiting for a bus that was going to be late. Their always late around here. Soon though, I'll be home, he says to himself. Soon. He gets to the stop and looks at the young lady closely. "Mind if I have a seat? I've done quite enough walking for the day." He smiles as warmly as he can, doing his best to ignore the pain.

Khyn looked up at the guy who approached. She hugged her backpack tighter to her and uncurled her legs. He looked like a hoodlum and she'd be damned if a smile from him meant she could trust him. She didn't say anything as he sat next to her. But she knew that he'd noticed her scoot a little bit further from him on the bench. A glance to her watch showed that the bus should be arriving in a few minutes. She sat up straighter and hugged her arms around her pack tighter. It was kind of odd to have another person at this bus stop and being so late, it made her a tad bit nervous.

Fiasco grunts softly as he hits the bench. The bus ride will give him plenty of time to rest after the long walk. Not completly oblivious to the girls actions, yet not knowing how to react to them, he sat in silence. Reveling in the sudden calmness of the ending day. Begining to pull his hands from his pockets, he stops, leaves them be, then sighs. And so he waited. Wanting to put the young lady's mind at ease, yet fearing her reaction. Oh, the mysteries of girls. Finally, the bus breaks the silence. "Ah, here it is." he says boldly, standing as the bus slows to a stop. He waits patiently for the doors to slide open, and once they do, he waits for the young lady to board first. He is a gentleman afterall, well, for the most part.

As the bus rolled to a stop before her and the boy, Khyn reached into her backpack for some coins. She briefly flashed her green eyes to the stranger as he'd moved out of her path. With a mental shrug, she boarded the bus and paid the fare. She could hear him talk to the bus driver as she made her way towards the back of the nearly empty bus. She chose a seat that was three rows from the back and sat next to the window. As she leaned her head against the window glass, her cell phone beeped a short tune and she opened it to check. It was a text from "L". She didn't know their real name or anything. It was kind of like a pen pal. She'd been messaged a few weeks ago on accident but then decided to return the message, letting the sender know about their mistake. Somehow though, this led to another and another text.

L: I wish sometimes that everyone around me would disappear. You ever wish that?

Khyn re-read the message twice and then replied.

Khyn: What happened?

She sent the message and then closed her phone. When she looked up she noticed that the strange boy had moved towards her and actually sat in the seat right across from her. She gave him a bored look when he smiled at her and then she stared straight forward in her seat.

Fiasco waited patiently for the young lady to board. She flashes her pretty green eyes at him. No. It had to have been his imagination. As she paid the fare, he started pulling out his own change and paid. The bus driver looks at his bruised fists. "Long story." He says to the driver, smiling. He then plunges his hands back into his pockets and casually walks to the back of the bus. Seeing somone asleep at the far back, he decides not to get too close. No use waking him. And so he takes a seat. Three rows from the back. Right across from the girl at the bus stop. Coincidence? He muses. The thought brought a nervous smile to his face. What luck, she chose that moment to look up at him. Way to go Fiasco. He thinks quickly. A subject, any subject. Don't let her think your weird. "Are you new here?" He asks. "Can only recall seeing you recently." Yup. That was smooth. Chaulk it up to pain and sleepyness. Nah. That was all him.

Khyn looked at the boy again but she didn't recognize him. Who knew, he might be a classmate. She didn't pay attention. Ever since she'd moved here, all she cared about was track.

"Yeah," she said noncommittedly.

She was still really bitter about having to leave everyone she'd known, all of her friends and her trackmates. She'd kind of closed herself off to those around her at this new school. She'd heard whispers behind her back when she walked in the halls or even in class. People thought she was a stuck up b***h and a goody-goody because of her high grades. Some girls had even started ganging up on her. She didn't care though, didn't care about much anymore.

"Well," Fiasco began, "It's not a bad school. Some of the teachers are a little uptight, especailly the shop teacher recently." He leaned against the window."Oh," he sits up quickly. "I seem to forget my manners more and more frequently. My name is Daren Fiasco. Whatever you've heard about me is probally true." He extends his right hand, which until now had been concealed in his pocket. He winces at his bruised knuckles. "I wouldn't blame you for not wanting to shake my hand. They do look substantially grosser than usual."

Khyn put a bored expression on her face, on purpose mind you, and looked at him again.

"I haven't heard anything about you," she said. She looked down at his dirty, bruised hand that he held out, then briefly back up to his face. She twisted her bottom lip in contemplation before slowly reaching her own hand out. A soft and quick shake before she removed her hand again.

"Khyn... my name's Khyn"

Fuuka and Yukiko had started walking for a while, and they had nothing else to talk about.

Yukiko looked down at her feet, holding Mama's hand. "Mommy! My feet hurrrt!" she complained, hopping up and down.

Fuuka smiled down at her sympathetically. "Well, we gotta find some place to eat, don't we?" she asked.

The girl nodded.

"Well, we got t-" Fuuka came to a halt as they walked by a bus stop. "Let's take the bus."

"Okay!" Yukiko replied happily, glad to find a rest.

With Yukiko, Fuuka sat down on the bench, and waited for the bus. Once it came, Fuuka stood up, holding the little girl's hand, and got on. As she sat, Fuuka noticed a girl a couple seats away. "Hello." she said politely.

Never having been on a bus before, Yukiko got on her knees on the seat, and watched the houses and trees go by. A toothy smile lie across herface.

Fiasco's eyes betray his surprise. "Haven't heard about me? Well thats a plus." he watchs in mild amusement as she shakes his hand quickly. "I'm bothering you, aren't I?" He asks, almost sympathetically. "I'm sorry. I've had a long day that didn't involve me talking to good people. I'll leave you alone if thats what you desire." His attention was then lead to the front of the bus, hoping to God that whoever was getting on the bus wasn't a one of those thugs from earlier. His calm, however, was restored when a young lady followed by an even younger girl entered the bus and took their seats.

"Haven't heard of..." she started to repeat. "Pretty full of yourself, eh?" A delicate eyebrow rose in question. She didn't pay any attention to the newest passengers on the bus. No business of hers, nor was she curious. Instead, she looked at her watch. Jeez, another 30 minutes at the least. She really wished she could afford her own car so she wouldn't have to take the bus all the time. Usually she just dozed a bit on the ride home from school.

He turns back to face Khyn. "You'd be amazed how many people hear about you, and judge you for what you've done. I'll apologize for assuming that you've heard of me, but not for any arrogance on my part. I chaulk it up to precaution. I was merely reveling in an opportunity to talk to someone who hasn't had the misfortune of hearing about me first." He pauses for a breath. "No, I'm sorry for my arrogance too. You'll have to forgive me. It's not uncommon for me to speak without thinking first." Fiasco pauses, a little downcast, and looks to the little girl that recently got on the bus. He smiles breifly at her, and waves. He turns back to Khyn "True first impressions are hard to come by for me, and I will concede that I've made them that way myself." he chuckles a little, "And I've completely botched this one." He says finally, after looking to the seat in front of him. "Way to go me."

A short laugh escaped Khyn's mouth and she turned her head to hide a half-smile. Her lips twisted as she held back laughter at his last sentence. Then she wiped all trace of amusement from her face and returned the bored expression as she turned to look at him again. her brow delicately rose again.

"Are you that eager to impress me.. a total stranger?!" Her voice held a slight teasing tone to it.
