Harper had screamed rather unchivalrously and lurched his hand back quick enough to come away with the slightest of burns possible for such an encounter - it still, of course, hurt a lot!
"IT' BURNED ME!" duh, Harper.

Darting around the bowl, Manny grabbed Harper's hand and pulled him to one of the sinks. It took a minute for her to get it turned onto a high pressure, but once she did the water quickly turned icy. "Put your hand under and hold it there till I say so," she ordered sternly, "Or it'll scar."

Harper was too 'crippled' with pain to do much but follow her orders, so with a pathetic whimper he put his hand in the water and let out a little sigh as the pain almost instantly deafened. "Thanks!" He said cheerfully, before it started to sting again. Well, much better than before.
He glanced back at the bacon with a sort of bitterness, though he was still quite hungry. "Sorry.. did I mess you up? We can still make food right?"

"Mmhm," Manny told him as she dug through the drawers, stopping finally when she found a fairly soft white table napkin. It appeared to be made of cotton, so it would work alright. She set the napkin in the water stream underneath his hand, pausing for a few seconds to let it soak before she tied it around his hand. "Keep your thumb free, but keep it tight around your fingertips," she advised before going back to pick up the bowl.

Harper nodded and watched as she bandaged him up. It didn't hurt that bad anymore, nothing he couldn't live with.. stung, and it was strange, but he'd been punched and tossed and bumped by nature/other kids so often he was getting somewhat resilient.
"Thank you surgeon Manny! Back to the biscuit mission, then?"

"Yep!" Manny agreed, tapping the bowl a few times before she went to measure out the flour. "I can make them real sweet and buttery if you want," she added, having forgotten that option, "But then I'd use turkey gravy." If she'd seen it right there was about a pound of leftover roast turkey in the refridgerator.

"Sweet and buttery?" Harper repeated, considering it. Tooth fillings and heart attacks, sounded good. "Okay!" He decided, nodding at her with approval. "I can still help, right?" He asked, frowning at his hand, trying to pull the bandage off already.
And there was indeed quite a collection of leftovers - anything Manny oughta need.

"Of course," she told him, tapping the flour down into the bottom of the bowl. Setting the bowl down on the counter she returned and scooped up a half stick of butter, a small bottle of canola oil, and a whisk. "You can start making the gravy if you want. Just get a saucepan from up on that shelf and I'll show you how it's done," she offered, gesturing to a pan laden shelf above the stove.
