Gin was glad that he took the second row. He never wanted to be the spotlight child and was happy that Talia was in the same class as him to take it away. He yawned as Slughorn asked them to make the draught of the living dead. That thing? It's not that hard but... he faked a yawn and glanced over at Talia. ...until the newts my friend... he thought and then started to look through his potions book to make sure of the ingredients.

"Yeah, I'm in Ravenclaw." she replied, before looking at the instructions again,
"What do you think about the instructions, I'm not sure about them, they seem too simple, especially to make something so dangerous." she queried Carina, who was in the year above her, so would know whether she was being silly or not.

"Actually you'd be suprised at how easy some potions are that are N.E.W.T. level. So, I take it you did well on your O.W.L.S.?" Carina replied. She could find out all she needed to know on her own, seeing as her mother made her learn legilmency the past summer. However Carina thought it was better to find things out on her own.

"I guess I did, I know I got an E, and from what the professor said, I may have gotten a really good one." She said, "I'm guessing you did well enough to continue your NEWTs.
She took the sopophorous beans and was about to cut them to get the juice, but her hand slipped, causing the flat of the dagger to crush the beans.
"Aww," she moaned, then she noticed the amount of juice she had collected.
"Then again, I guess that was a good thing." she smiled adding the juice to the potion.
"Let's see, now wormwood is added, and no preparation needed, great." she began to measure the amount she needed for the potion.

"I did do well on all of my O.W.L.S., only E's and O's. The only classes i really wanted to continue was Astronomy and Herbology, but i would imagine that all of the basics are needed for most jobs. However, I don't know why i have muggle studies." Carina said as she started preparing her potion ingredients. She had made the exact potion last year, so what they were doing was all review for her. SHe also wanted to get to know Talia better so she tried to keep the coversation going.

Gin noticed that Talia had figured out the trick to making the potion. He smirked a bit and cut his bean in half. He cut the first half of the bean as the book stated, but crushed the second half to get an ample amount of juice. Not too much, not too little. he thought as he finished with his beans and slipped the juice into the potion. Well, I added a bit less juice then her so... I should be able to use the stirring trick without causing too much ruckus. he stirred the solution seven times counter clockwise and then made a quick glance to see if anyone was looking as he made one stir clockwise. He continued this until the potion was just the slightest bit off from the pale color described in the text book. Gin yawned and started to skim through his potion's book as the other students finished up. They should really let us attempt some of these more dangerous potions, at least they serve a slight challenge.

:Hogwarts Express:
Jenna walked through the the passage to platform 9 and 3/4. She was alone again. No one had brought her since her first year and only then her mother had came because she didnt want Jenna to get lost. It was the little affection the girl ever recived from her mother. She looked around at all the family saying goodbye and hugging their loved ones and felt a small pang of sadness. Her face, however, remained emotionless. Jenna rarely let her guard down. Years of pain and hurt had taught her these things.
She walked onto the platform. Her Pale face is almost completly hidden by her long hair. She walkes with her face up, eyes cold and staring, just daring someone to cross her. Her trunk was pulled along behind her. Jenna found an empty compartment, one of the few left and sat down to await the arivle to Hogwarts.
:Hogwarts School Feast:
Jenna sat down at the Slytherin table. Her drawn cheeks stood out in the light of the candles. So many students were gone this year. All the better, but still she had hoped to try a few hexes. The sorting ceremony went on withought much excitment. Only about three new students were sorted into the houses. The Slytherins table was the fullest of all the houses and Jenna smirked silently to herself. After the feast, which had consisted of pumkin juice and a small piece of chicken for Jenna, she retired to her common room to catch up on the latest gossip.
:now:
Jenna awoke to sunlight streaming through her small window and frowned. Although the rain depressed her, the sun just made her down right unbearable. She rolled over and dressed in her school uniform, which she hated with a passion. Looking at her schedual, Jenna made a rash desicion. The first she had ever made at Hogwarts. She decided to skip class and go to the forbidden forest. Snape was headmaster now after all, so she shouldnt get in too much trouble. Besides Malfoy she was a favorite of his.
Changing into jeans and her black hoodie, Jenna grabbed her wand and a bag filled with small books, and other things for her cause, and headed into the forbidden forest.
She walked along a small path until she came to a small clearing. It was green and had a small waterfall and was very prety. Jenna had secretly loved this place forever, but would never admit it. She felt at peace here. She pulled out her supplies and began to work on a new spell.

(ooc - I can see Slughorn knowing about the stirring and given his nature I think he'd do what he does in this post.)
"Well I'm doing Aritmancy, Runes, Divination, Astronomy and obviously potions." she said, adding more ingredients to the potion.
Soon she was stirring, but it wasn't coming out right.
"Hmm, I thought these instructions were off." she said.
"Professor, I'm not sure about these instructions, I followed them, but the potion is coming out wrong." She knew at this stage it should be a light purple, but it was much darker.
Slughorn just laughed, "In all my years of teaching, you are the first to mention that, you need to add one clockwise stir after every seven counter-clockwise stirs. The instructions do make a decent draught, but adding the clockwise stir makes it far more potent. And one more thing, ten points to Ravenclaw for your observation."
Talia quickly scribbled the correction in her book and began to stir it like she'd been told.
Soon the potion was the right colour, and Talia was still slightly embarrased.
I wonder, did people figure it out and not tell anyone? she thought as she bottled the finished draught and handed put the bottle on Professor Slughorn's desk

Gin watched as Talia brought up her draught. "first" done as expected. he waited until five more people finished with their own potions until he brought his vial up with a vacant smile and set it with the others. He then grabbed his bag and headed to the back of the room. He took out a book large enough that it wouldn't seemingly fit in his bag. With the same vacant smile he opened it around half-way and started to read.

"I just wish there were more people like you in this school, Talia. Everyone thinks I'll turn out like my mother. I can't help who my parents are, all I can do is learn from their mistakes. Others can't seem to grasp that fact." Carina said as she finished up her potion, took a sample, then placed it on Slughorns desk. She went back to her seat and started cleaning up her area. She put her things away silently, pulled out a muggle book she'd been hiding all summer, Peter Pan by Jim Barrie, and started to read.

Now the lesson was over, and her things packed away, Talia checked her timetable.
"I've got Divination next." she said to Carina, "So I'm afraid I've literally got to run, I'll see you at lunch if you're interested." she added before leaving at speed.
She managed to reach the classroom in time and saw it was nearly empty.
"Morning Professor." she said as she sat down and took her textbooks out.

Gin noticed that the class was clearing out and put his book back into the enchanted bag. See ya next class Professor Slughorn. he gave a half-wave and turned out the door. Hold on mister Delias. Gin stopped in his tracks but didn't dare face the professor. There was a slight silence until Slughorn broke it with, I would like to see you tomorrow night in detention. Gin still didn't turn to him but calmly opened the door and gave his parting words, If a professor says so then I guess I have to now don't I? he said it in a slightly harsh and sarcastic tone, but Slughorn gave a slight chuckle as the next class started to fill in.
Down the hall a bit, Gin was making his way to his next class. I REALLY hope Snape isn't teaching it this year. Last year was... well damnrite horrible. he slowly made his way to Defense Against the Dark Arts, knowing full well the scolding he'd get if he was late.

Jenna looked down at her watch and blanched at the time. She was going to be late for Defense against the dark arts if she didnt hurry. Throwing everything into her bag, she ran as fast as she could from the forest and tore up the stairs to the classroom.
Normally, being late wouldnt bother her the slightest, and as she had allready skipped a class today, you might think she didnt care one way or the other. But if Snape was teaching, she almost shuddered at the thought.
Thankfully she reached the class in time, though out of breath and slightly aggitated.
She took a seat at the back of the class and carfully composed her face so no emotion would show. Taking her things out of her bags, she pretended to be boared and wait for the class to start. Even though she had missed potions, she couldnt let her nerve or feelings get to her. So she watched the students filing in one by one. How she had made so much extra time was beyond her.
Looking at her watch again she remembered it had stopped working five minutes from now yesterday. She frowned realizing how stupid she must have looked tearing down the corridor. Scowling to herself, Jenna tore off the watch and threw it in the bottom of her bag before she realized she wasnt wearing her school uniform. Just jeans, a black tank top, and a black hoodie. She groaned to herself and started banging her head against her desk.

Appearently class was over, as Abigail finally noticed that people were gathering their things and going to her next class. After she had managed to get into the hall way she cheacked her time table. She started to make her way towards the Charms class. Once in the class, again she headed to the back and pulled out her book. About five minutes later, by her watch, the professor was attempting to get the other students to quite down and pay attention.
"Now class your O.W.Ls are to happen this year...." the little man droned on and on. At least the first half of the lesson was about their Ordinary Wizarding Levels. Soon after his first sentence Abigail began to read wile half listening. Hoping that actual work would begin soon.

Transfiguration was a bit hard, but nothing Anne couldn't handle. She had always loved that class, among many others. This year, she was sharing the class with Hufflepuffs.
When the class was over, she looked at her timetable. "DADA next...and with sixth-year Slytherins! Now that is weird!" Getting to the class with some spare time, she scose a spot on the middle road; not so close to Snape he'd ask her questions, but not so far he'd think she was avoiding him. Taking off the books and wand, she looked around with curiosity; she didn't know Slytherins all that well.
