I think Tim is safe due to his title is doing pretty well. He's been put through quite a bit with his parents and best friends getting killed. I'd say he's been through enough.

Jaeger_Ayers I think Tim is safe due to his title is doing pretty well. He's been put through quite a bit with his parents and best friends getting killed. I'd say he's been through enough. Not to mention most people enjoy d**k as Nightwing and don't want him to go back.
Plus apparently in Countdown, we're going to get a Red Robin that's supposed to be Jason, I think.

Dude, look at who youre talking to here. surprised The guy who lucked into the most powerful weapon in the universe and took on the heat and the legacy that came along with it. The guy who worked his way into being one of the DCU big guns by facing every challenge. The guy who earned the respect of Batman. And the guy who despite all of this was sneered upon by loser fanboys for the sole reason that he isn't Hal Jordan. Tim doesn't have that problem. His predecesors have moved on into role accepted by the fans. There's no group of losers in their basements trying to make d**k Grayson Robin again.

However, what I was getting at is that I am the epitome of writer-induced abuse. I did all the above, and then the angst started. I even created "women in refrigerators," but it still hasnt been enough. Tim's problem is that he's a character created in the 90s, and he's unfamiliar to the current staff. They didnt grow up on him. Solution? Break him down, and kill him off.

They didnt grow up on him. Solution? Break him down, and kill him off. That's what they did to Stephanie Brown, AND Jason Todd. Both were killed to bring back older iterations. Unfortunately for Jason, d**k refused to become Robin again, so Tim took on the mantle.
Tim, believe it or not, is a liked character. By a lot of people. The staff went to great lengths to make sure he was accepted. The only people I've talked to that don't like Tim... are the type of people that don't like Robin as a concept.
The fanbase is fine with d**k as Nightwing, and fine with Jason being dead. There's been more backlash about Jason coming back than Tim being Robin.

However, I still get the feeling that Tim, and maybe even d**k's, days are numbered. You know as well as I do that the backlash and the fan base doesnt concern DD or GJ.

You know as well as I do that the backlash and the fan base doesnt concern DD or GJ. DiDio's already been undermined on that one.
DiDio said that d**k Grayson was "redundant and useless", and mandated that d**k die in Infinite Crisis. Except the fanbase heard about this and essentially said "******** you, we like him." Notice that d**k Grayson is still around.
And, I can't believe I'm saying this, but Johns isn't that bad. He has actually gotten better. I'm of the opinion that he's only as good as those around him. During 52, he was awesome. On "Up, Up, and Away" he was great. But before that, he was only "hanging out" with DiDio and Winnick. Not the best influences out there.

While on the subject of Robin, DD was down here in Charlotte, NC for HeroesCon. He asked if there were any Jason Todd fans in the audience.
The audience responded with boos and hisses.
This guy had the nerve to ask "why?" After fans explained, he just went on with the corporate line, talking about setting up JT with Donna Troy.
Like I said, not a care in the world.

Someone who has seen past Johns Derangement Syndrome. The guy is a really solid writer. I really have no clue why people don't like him.
