Here is the script Geoff Johns uses again and again:
1.) Time and/or dimensional travel
2.) Bring back a silver and/or golden age character
3.) Kill off a random 90s character
4.) Retcon a major character's changes/evolutions/origin/values/M.O., ignoring the past two decades
5.) Profit!

Seriously, Ive been saying it for years, that these old hats are taking the DCU right back to the age they grew up in. Maybe now you guys will start believing me.
