There's no such cat in the metropolis, who holds all the pieces in monopoly,

This is a conversation I'd started lest night about my (in progress) poison team... Thus far I've gained my Gengar, Toxicroak, Muk, and Tentacruel, I'm pretty sure a Crobat would definitely hold his own so that'll most likely be my fifth pokemon, but my sixth is a total mystery. So much so, in fact, that I don;t know what it is (Dun Dun Dun!!!)

Crobat's Nasty+heatwave is a good way to take out steel types. I'd recomend Focus Sashing it for a Nasty Plot but bullet punch is something to watch out for.

Poison isn't the greatest element to base a team around. I'm sure you noticed the options are... limited xD

No problem. Can't blame you for a technical failure.

Poison, Electric, Ice and Steel are the only types I've yet to complete a Team for.

My Crobat (before game erase) had Heat Wave, X-Scissor (I fink), Air Slash, and... Sludge Bomb (I fink)

And where in the HELL does one go about finding a Focus Sash...?

Need a sixth? Go with Drapion. That way you'll have an immunity to Psychic.

Another of Crobat's sneaky tricks is Hypnosis. Not 100% reliable, but oh-so-effective. (Barring Synchronize, Insomnia or Vital Spirit)

@ Dante: Sludge Bomb was Physical in 3rd gen. Now it's Special. Poison Jab or Gunk Shot are Physical options.

Edit: Focus Sash are at the BP Exchange in Fight Area, or at the house on Route 221.

Hm, if I were to build an electric-themed team, I'd probably start with these:

Electivire
Rotom
Lanturn
Raichu
Magnezone
Zapdos, if Legendaries are permitted

Yeah I know =P but I saw them talking about Leaf Green on the page earlier and assumed it would be a team for that.

But as for the Muk Crobat, when I say Psychic, I mean the abra evos... It's all I use, and it's the most common psychic line used. The thing is though, if you come across a Alakazam with any poison type... you would probably lose if it can 1 HIT you.

But if you go with Gen 4, don't do Muk lol, do Crobat (or you could do both as you are =P)

Crobat = Speed 130
Alakazam = Speed 120

Base stats for both.

If you EV for speed you would probably win with Crobat, but all of that is just my own opinion =P plus Quick Claw could always fix the speed issue xd

Alakazam runs into trouble if Drapion switches in to soak up a Choiced Psychic.
Another handy move in Crobat's arsenal is U-Turn. Supereffective against Alakazam, and gets it away from Psychic attacks.
Big problem with 'Zam is the potential Choice + Trick.
Quick Claw only activates randomly, so it's not a reliable way to outspeed anything.
