Dunno what you're talking about with 52. I haven't had a chance to read it but most everyone on the board hails it as a storytelling success. 'Countdown' is the one everyone thinks blows goats.
I'm ticked off that this Lightning Saga in JLA/JSA is most likely just a blatant excuse to bring Barry back now that they've tanked the Flash:Fastest Man Alive series officially.
It's out of character. Everyone knows that if the Legion were to undertake a dangerous time-travel plan to resurrect a hero, it would be Supergirl, a member of their own team and Brainiac 5's lover. rolleyes

52 explained what happened in the missing year. Very thoroughly, and very well.

If it was the reboot Legion, it would make more sense, what with Barry being XS's grandfather and all.

Querl Dox Dunno what you're talking about with 52. I haven't had a chance to read it but most everyone on the board hails it as a storytelling success. 52 was not as advertised. For weeks in advance, it was hailed as a telling of the events during the year missed just after NuCrisis. However, it turned into the story of Black Adam, Renee Montoya, and The Question, and thats about it. Here's what Dan Didio had to say about it: Quote: Back when we originally planned the story for our yearlong weekly saga 52, our goal was to explain the multiple changes in character and story that occurred throughout our line with the One Year Later jumps... But a funny thing happened on the way to One Year Later. The four talented writers of 52 took hold of our guide characters and began to realize the untold potential in all of them. As their stories grew, it became clear by the second issue of 52 that the series would be about them... But Im sure youre wondering, what about OYL? He then follows up by making excuses about things changing and evolving after the planning process, and starts shilling World War Three. To which I say, in big, bold, black letters. LAME!

I personally wouldn't take Dan Didio's opinions or thoughts on anything to be worth taking to heart. Like I said, everyone on the boards who read 52 said it was a great set of stories (except the John Henry Irons part, apparently).
DiDio's stepped in with Countdown and is editorial-mandating the sprock out of it, and the reaction on here and Scans_Daily to the people following it is that it's tons of 'meh' wrapped up with a taco of continuity errors.
I know you better then to think you'd toe the Editor's lines about what is and isn't worth reading, Kyle. You should give it a read yourself in the store. They're trading it actively right now.

However, it turned into the story of Black Adam, Renee Montoya, and The Question, and thats about it. That's the most retarded thing I've ever read. Not only were there 6 other focal characters in the series, but loads of side stories that shed light on other characters, as well as the 9 characters' interactions with other characters in the DCU. It sounds like what you're looking for is Countdown, which is more along the lines of, "here is a factualized report of some s**t that happened this week."

Im not interested about reading a story involving a rip-off of Michelle Rodriguez, and bad characterization of a few classic characters. Fact of the matter is that 52 did not deliver what the advertised. Lets talk about Nightwing. Lets talk about Martian Manhunter. Lets talk about Clark's origin. DD admitted it, and you admitted it by pointing me to Countdown, something else Im not going to read. http://www.dailyraider.com/index.php?id=4150

Nightwing was in 52. So was Martian Manhunter. 52 was advertised as being a series without Clark, Diana or Bruce.
But, OK.
See you in a few more days when you drop in for an hour to s**t on some more stuff you know nothing about. I particularly enjoy the unique brand of vitriol you bring when you stop by.

Hey, so the were in it a bit, big whoop. Were they written as advertised? No. You want to debate the EIC here or what? May have been a great story, good for them. Fact of the matter is, it didnt deliver as promised, are you going to argue that with me, or continue the ad hominem attacks? Pick one, or go ******** yourself. Me, Id rather "yo" do the latter mate.
