America claims it's a non religious country? Are you ******** kidding me? The majority is bible thumping Christians, and statistics report that a large percentage of them vote based on religious values. Not to mention pretty much everyone in the white house, congress, and any governing body believes in some God or other.

Thankfully I'm agnostic, I don't believe in a god unless you can prove its existence.... And not with some ballocks that happened thousands of years ago.
Jesus wasn't the son of god, if he was god is a dickhead who rapes married women and doesn't pay child benifit.

As far as I know, America has never claimed to be a non religious country Chemosh. It's very ideals (The Constitution) is based off of Christianity. And the whole "One country, Under God", >.> Very Religious. You are mistaken Chemosh.

America doesn't have an official religion the same way it doesn't have an official language. Yes, the vast majority of America is christian like the vast majority of America speaks english. There's just no written law about it.
@Liriel: Actually, most of the founding fathers were Unitarian. And "under God" wasn't originally in the Pledge of Allegiance; it's a fairly recent addition.

They were, by and large, not Unitarian. About 3-4% were, according to this. But they were very much interested in not continuing any conflict using religion as its excuse as Europe had suffered for centuries, and so while they all claimed to believe, they certainly didn't seem to care about how each other believed in God.

I am anti-religious. i believe in Spirituality and Faith, not Dogma and Doctrine. >.>
that being said, who cares one piece of crap about whether America is religious or not? completely inconsequential!
now, anywho, that your dad let you out because of the teacer is much better. thank you for explaining.

...how the hell can you be anti-religious when you believe in spirituality and faith? Faith itself isn't worth s**t, you need something to have faith in. Spirituality is basically you worshiping ghosts, or spirits of nature. It's a religion.

nonono.. here is the difference. i believe in Gods, Jehovah being included among them. i believe in an Astral/Spiritual Plane of existance that is a parrallel of the Material/Physical Plane of existance. I believe that Satan is a being that exists, that Angels and Demons are real, that the Pagan gods and goddesses exist. i believe that every religion and spiritual path acknowledges the same Universal Truth, but that they each identify it, relate to it, organize it, arrange it, and view it in their own individual ways. Spirituality is believing. Religion is a man-made construction, a form of boxing it in, objectifying it. the Universal Truth is itself completely Subjective, but different people from different religions limit themselves by choosing a point to stop and say "this is the Truth, and I am right and everyone else is wrong." and when these people of similar beliefs come together they organize a religion. the spirituality is not the religion, and teh religion is not teh spirituality. the following is a post i made in a thread discussing what religion is. Chieftain Twilight in actuallity, Paganism and Christianity are rooted in almost ALL teh same stuff. you couldn't find two more harmonious and even codependant religions. (actually, there is also Yezidi and Islam. look it up and you'll see why. smile ) i study and research various religions, spiritual paths, cultures and history as my hobbie and secondary job-goal. the one thing i have found that is most important is that ALL religions and spiritual beliefs have most things in common, and all are based on the same metaphysical Truth. (though how the interpret that truth, arrange it, define it and so on may vary from culture to culture.) realy, what religion is then, is a form of croud control and institutionalism taking advantage of the power of faith and belief to manipulate it's followers. or, on a lighter note in some instances, a way of officially organizing groups of believers in a shallow and ignorant viewpoint that they are right and everyone else is wrong. (even though technically, nobody is wrong. it's just how you look at it.) Religion tries to impose a belief in doctrine, dogma and objectivity about a Truth that is in all actuallity completely subjective. in other words, ALL RELIGIONS ARE LIES!
