"Why would I suggest going out and killing giant rodents but really meaning that I wanted to go look for rocks? Is this some kind of woman double speak that I am unaware of?" She opened the door out into the hall, slinging her stadd over her shoulder. The bells rang softly.
She was asking in all sincerity. She was much to niave soemtimes. "If it is, no. I have to wish to look for stones.

"Good Good." Cedric said with a cheerful grin. "I think we should talk to Elric before we go, he may know which direction we should walk to find something. Though the dark is full of dreadful things, there is still a large amount of space for them to wonder. We could search our whole lives, and find not but tracks and traces."
The duet walked down the hall. Cedric was not apparently armed at the moment, despite his array of weaponry. He waited until they were near the main door to call his Katana to him. The weapon appeared in his outstreached hand, and he placed it on his belt. His red cloak did well to conceal it.
Elric was sitting by the door, drinking some tea and eating some Kelp-bread when the two passed. He looked at Cedric, and smiled. "There some trouble in the north, a few nasties in the north west. A few spiders have wondered dangerously near the farms, and a flying critter has made a home too close to the port for us not to take action."
"Then what are you doing here?" Cedric asked his collegue.
"Eating lunch." Elric replied, "I made sure nothing was in striking range before I came back to eat, and report to Celly what I found. With Onyx, I think we have not much to worry about."

Aella smiled at Elric as they entered his space, There was no need for her to speak for the moment, but she listened carefully.
"We can go after the spiders first, if they are big enough. They hold alot of meat that is good for stews and chilli's." Most of them had taken a liking to the kinds of foods they had had to live off of when living at the small keep Meilikki had once inhabited, she still cooked when her schedual allowed it.
Laudi, having been in a sort of slumber for some time, was looking at herself from different angles. Down her body, over her shoulders, along her amrs. She held no interest for those around her for the moment.

"Did I hear someone say we were Hunting?"
And there was onyx, casually walking on the ceiling. something that he did that often spooked the help, but mostly it was his method of training his muscles. his clawed feet dug into the stonework, but the strain of taking a step in an inverted postion holding on with his feet coudl work up quite an appetite.
And he let go, gliding down by Cedric. giving the elf a look of 'leave her alone'. indeed, onyx's own affection had made him a very good team mate to Celeste in her wanting to keep Cedric from Aella.
"So. what's the prey, where is it, and can we eat it afterwards?"
"And yes, I meant me and the help."
A small smile, taking her by the arm and helping her walk, the idea of course was if she did get an upset stomach, he coudl shadowstep them both to a bathroom quickly enough to avoid a mess on the floor.
"So...we want it upstairs or downstairs? and by downstairs I don't mean the basement."

"Spiders it is." Cedric said, he looked at Elric.
"I'll clean up in a counter clockwise fasion." He said after sipping his tea. "I imagine you will have the least to worry about... But, I am finding this place growing sedate, my senses are numbing to the dangers because they seem to be far a few between. In a few more moths, I imagine we will have even less to do..."
"Save for the..."
"Yeah, them." Elric shrugged.
"Well then, to spiders and meat." Said a cheerful Cedric. Elric tossed him a bag that had a black line stitched across it. "Thanks." Then a black lump of fur landed beside him. "I was wondering when you would get here." As though the question of Onyx coming or not was purely... Irrelevant. "Spiders, and you can eat some of them, but Meilikki wants to make soup."

Aella had gotten used to that as well. "Hello Onyx." She smiled. She clapped Elric on the back, making him choke on his tea a bit, but she didn't notice. "Thanks a bunch, Elric. We can't get too bored, you know."
With that, she led the way out of the manor and down the street, towards the semi-feilds where the cattel was not happily grazing. "The last time I fought a spider was some time ago, when Eliot first visited the keep. I tihnk I can fight a little better now." Alas, she'd left the bracers back in the drawing room. Well, it was probably best that she didn't have them right now anyway.

"Should we bother with a strategy?" Cedric said as he walked beside Aella, at arms length. "Or, watch Onyx perform in his splendor as he nomally doth." Reffering to how the cat could easily kill the spiders before Cedric or Aella moved. He smiled as he streched his arms out, "At least Orko didn't come this time. He'd merely nuke it from here and then laugh when we found its charred remains." A pause, "I hope Rydia does not develop that sense of power. She much too nice a girl to be flinging meteors about the place." The refference to the addopted daughter of Stoneshaper was in reguard to her mild manner and seemingly simple mindset, yet her astonishing ability to cast spells.
"I smell the drops of venom..."

"Letting Onyx have it would only prove to lengthan my boredom." She glanced at Onyx. "Hear that? Don't hog it." She twirled her staff casually over her head. "I want to be tired at the end of the day, and not tired from training."
Her pulse quickened as Cedric picked up what her half nose could not. She stopped the twirling and looked around. "We're still in the trees. Since when did the spiders like comming out of the cave so far?"

"A bigger preditor forced them out." Cedric said without paying Aella's question much heed. He was trying to hone his senses to where they were a few months prior, but alas, all he could see is Onyx tearing the creatures to pieces.
"Maybe we should investigate the cave as well?"

"Something larger? The only larger thing had been Tanundra...." She looked around. "Let's get the spiders first, then we'll look at the cave." She looked at the soft ground, finding the prints left by a rather large spider. Aella was happy with herself, since she was rather new at tracking. but then ehr shoulders drooped, because Cedric must have been following them for some time now.

"I heard you, and I'll save you plenty. as for the spiders coming out of the cave, me and Elric have been talking about it. something either is driving them out, or lack of food is causing them to spread to more fertile lands is my best guess. Elric has some other theories but I don't understand half the concepts as they are elven ways of thinking nad explaining and I just ain't that bright in those areas sometimes."
A slight grin to Cedric.
"For once, I think you and I agree on that. I dno't much care for Oroko's methods either. not to mention it ruins the hides and meat."

He almost placed a hand on Aella's shoulder, but allowed it to drop back to his side. "Don't worry. I was slow at learning how to track at first too, but when you are five hundred or so, I'll expect better results." Aella really should not compare herself to someone who has lived her lifespawn over ten times.
"Onyx, and You will take care of the Spiders." He tossed the bag to Aella. "Place the choice meat in the sack, it will hold about... three thousand cubic feet of meat." He said rather nonchalantly. "I will run ahead, and explore the preliminary passages of the caves in search of evidance for the migration. I will not venture far in until you come to join me, after returning the meat to Miss Meilikki." His voice sounded astoutly serious.
Onyx mentioned that he and Elric had been discussing such theories. "Elric always likes to keep everything a secret." He said with little room for doubt. "If anyone in this place understood elvish hunting practices it is him." The elf saluted, "I will see you both soon." And dissappeared into the grove next to them.
Back at the manor, a trio of travellers arrived at the house in style. On the back of a great and rather monsterous looking blue, yet stylishly thin, dragon. "Thanks Beoh." The summoner said as he stepped off the beast. The dragon waited for the other two passangers to disembark before disappating into many small flare-like bursts of light.
"The plane is sealed, yet you still summon beasts." Talon said in a weary voice.
"I summon the plane." Replied the elf from the far west.
"This is a nice house, I helped design the foundations of the complex. It has a double interiour to allow extra heavy objects to hang from the cieling. Otherwise, a normal stone structue would have too much stress placed on the floor if something were to crawl across the cieling. It is a wonderful technique."
"I need a break, and a nice long sleep." Talon replied as teh gnome continued to talk, as he had done for almost the whole trip.
"Hello." Elric greated. "Please go and talk to the Oracle if you wish to stay here." He knew that was the intent, because he knew who requested the gnome.
"As you wish, good Elric." The summoner said as he whipped his feet off before entering the building. THe trio walked barely a few corridors before comming across the well kept form of Meilikki. "Hello, gracious hostess. I am Zalikkite, and my fellows are Talon and Trem."
"Yo." Talon said with a very colocial accent.
"Hello, I remember seeing you at the Ball, you were very beautiful. You are very gracefull when you dance, and you have very good taste in food. I saw your plate and had to try eveything on it. It was all delicious."

"Of course you did." See? She knew how to read it all by now. Usually when she was 'going to do something she probably shouldn't' well that meant that someone else was going to do it for her and she was just going to happily watch and direct. But she didn't put up a fuss when he took her by the arm, some days she did, but not today. "Upstairs of course and I have my various reasons." A pat on his arm then. "And I know you didn't mean the basements because I would hurt you for that now wouldn't I?" Was it frightening that she could say that so sweetly? Probably depnded on who you are. "Upstairs, somewhere in the middle...not too close to our room, but not to far either...we have plenty of space anyway."There was that being picky thing again. Hell, guests rooms were hardly, seeing at they rarely had guests and when they do, well it wasn't a whole boat load, that was for sure.

"Yeah, okay." Good choice. She'd be better off fighting out here, then wandering around the caves following after Cedric. She couldn't track on stone yet. She smiled at Onyx. "Can you smell the spiders? I can't." She thought she knew which direction to go, but decided a second opinion was good. She tucked the odd bag into her belt.
Meilikki nodded as she was once again greeted by newcomers. "Thank you, Trem, you are very gracious to say so." She directed them to a spacious dinning chamber, where a selection of fruits, cheeses, and wines had been set out. "Please, help yourselves." she took a seat in a high backed, armed chair, spreading a hand to the offering. "To what do I owe the pleasure of this visit?"

Onyx nodded.
"Yep. but i don't smell venom, I smell them. I'm not so atuned to such things yet."
A grin to her.
"They are northeast of us, and in a semi circular pattern, like a webbing.so some are north, some are east, and some are in the middle. if you want, I can play cattle driver and chase them toward you."
"Alright then."
Going upstairs with her.
"How about three rooms down from us. that puts the two rooms next to were Fianna normally stays, so they'll be close to grandmother, not to mention it's close enough to sevilin's room he shouldn't put up too much complaint."
