^ Mental. I think it's called something like a "hoped-for" self, where the identity you create online (including an avatar and how you interact with others) is based on a projection of the not only the person want to be in real life, but what you want others to see you as.
< They did a study on it with Facebook and college kids, it was actually really fascinating.
