Umm... Well, being a fan of Metal Gear Solid and Silent Hill, I'll say the PS2. Since it got all the sequels. The PS1, to me, had some of the best games in history, but the PS2 had more great games, even if many of them didn't beat the ones on PS1. But even then, my favorite games are mostly on PS2, Silent Hill 2, Metal Gear Solid 3. It's only Resident Evil and Final Fantasy that had a better PS1 generation than PS2 generation.
Though the PS1 did have Parasite Eve, Dino Crisis, and a few other gems, my PS2 library is filled with a lot more essentials than my PS1 library. And that's not a console thing, though, I think it's more of a generation thing. I think that the previous generation just managed to get so much out of their games, since they weren't limited by technology, or at least not NEARLY as much as in PS1, so they were able to truly explore and make some amazing games, without putting an overwhelmingly heavy strain on getting the most out of the technology itself, which is the reason why this generation is kinda sucking, aside from its biggest hits, and the odd fluke.

PS1!

If I had the power to revisit that time I would. It was an awesome time to be a gamer then. whee

Gotta go with Angela on this. PS1 was the ******** glory days, man. The N64 too, but to a much lesser extent, I'm perfectly willing to admit. I think that's one reason why I love the DS so much. My two favorite systems of all time are the PS1 and the SNES. And the DS is almost like the PS1 and the SNES rolled into one. Like, I'll pop in Contra 4 and it's like, "oh my god, this feels just like Contra III on the SNES, but crazier since I have to keep track of s**t coming at me on two screens". Then I'll pop in something like Ninja Gaiden Dragon sword and it's like "oh my god, pre-rendered backgrounds! This feels just like a PSX game. Nobody does this anymore".

And I agree, this gen kinda sucks. There's been some great games and everything, but I don't know.

It's all the casuals that make it not the same.

It's cool and hip to like videogames these days. I dunno, they just ruin the fandom of things. stare

Well, the thing that made the PS1 so awesome was that it was the first time we actually got to experience complex 3D graphics (when I say complex, I mean NOT Mario Kart for SNES).
So that was a very new aspect to games at the time, and it just allowed for so much more than before.

Coming at you all with a mother f***ing mouthload...And I'm not implying that I'm coming at you like Paris Hilton or anything. Schwing!

@Thee Stranger:

Pertaining to your games list (I read it all, but I'm not going to reply to everything on it):

1. I'm not a fan of racing games either, but by chance have you played either Hydro Thunder or Rush 2049? Those are my two faves. If so, what are your thoughts on them? Anyways, Road Rash sounds pretty sweet. Too bad I missed out.

2. Haven't played Clock Tower, but now I really want to. That sounds incredibly interactive for the time.

3. The Thing was awesome up to the point I got to and then quit. 'Bout...5+ hours in, that first boss drained all my my health packs, and then the next level offered, like, what? 20 monsters and only one health pack? I had nothing on me when I got to the next level, so I couldn't even get past the first room. BS. P'd me th F O.

4. I'll get back to you on Execution.

...

So, 7 hours in, I quit FFIV.

It was just way too old school for me. Maybe they were beautiful at the time, but the graphics are really a turn off for me. Also, the dialogue is just so...basic. And boring. That's goes for the combat as well.

Oh well.

So, I decided to start Chrono Trigger afterwards. But I was very hesitant. If I thought FFIV sucked, a game for the SNES that everybody hails as one of the greatest RPGs ever, and a classic of the genre, then maybe I'd think Chrono Trigger would to. Well...

You asked me what I though about Chrono Trigger a long while ago Thee Stranger, and although I coudln't answer you back then, I can now. Here it is: Oh...My God.

Now THAT'S what I expect from a considered classic of the genre, and want from a SNES RPG as well.

These are the beautiful graphics I want from a SNES game. I especially love the views of the distant horizon. Amazing.

The combat is so unique to me. I love the strategy behind the area and straight line tech attacks. And the double/triple techs add strategy to party formation; something I didn't expect from a game that came before FFVII, FFVIII, etc.. Addictive as hell.

The music is simply brilliant, with many a catchy song, be it poppy or sullen in nature.

The script it also brilliant. The court room scene especially had me LingMAO. I never thought that those (What I thought at time) little, innocent actions would come back to bite me in the as*. xd The characters are nicely varied as well.

There are also many minor details I really appreciate about the game, like the monster free world map roaming, or the absence of random battles (Which have been bugging me a lot as of late. Must be from my recent over playing of the FF series).

With saying all of that, I really want to make a top ten RPGs list so I can figure out where Chrono Trigger would be on it. I think it would be either my 4th, 5th, or 6th favorite RPG...And that's from only playing it for 6 hours thus far.

...

I'm tired from typing haha. I'm gonna take a break...When I come back, I'll give my thoughts on certain aspects of FFXIII.

Hey, Chase. My guitarist was wondering if we could take a look at the script of your film? Mostly for curiosity, but also fto kind of have a better idea of what we're writing the song about. Let me know.

And yeah, I couldn't get into FFIV.

Give me a few weeks.

It's still in initial writing phrase...Which means it's currently in my school notebook, waiting to be typed up haha.

I get my best ideas when I'm slowly dying from boredom in class.

So yeah, a few weeks. Sorry if that's inconveniant.

No, it's fine. It doesn't really matter, since the song won't be coming out before the film, I don't think, so if you can wait, we can wait.

EDIT: Oh, by the way. I finally picked up Falling Into Infinity, and I gotta say, it was a lot better than I expected. I actually think I like it better than Awake. So I dunno, I'd say give it a gander.

To change the subject...

Zombie Awareness Month

It's Zombie Awareness Month! I think we should all show our support this month by wearing gray on our avvies. :B

I mean, after all, zombies are what our guild is all about!

It's kinda stupid though. I mean, Awareness? We of all people are constantly AWARE of them. What we need is more like an Appreciation month. And even then, when do we NOT appreciate zombies?

I guess... But it's at a time like that, that we are the most AWARE of the zombies. So there ya go. Awareness.

On another note. Here are my band photos!

Good group photos to use on the inside of the cd case cover booklet.

Also, your keyboardist looks like the guy in Zombieland.

Lookin' forward to hearing your band's music.

EDIT:

So, there's not going to be a Rambo V. Which I'm glad about. I thought the series ended on a perfect, full circle note with Rambo's (Or as it should be called, Rambo 3: First Blood Part 4) ending.

Instead, Sly's going to concentrate on doing an Expendables sequel.

If the first one quicks a**, I'm down for a new, Sly actioner franchise.

Okay, you know what's crazy? Take our names... Matt, Eric, Tyler, Adam and Lucas... What do they spell? It blew my freakin mind.

Also, yay for no Rambo V, and yay for The Expendables. It's only missing Arnold and Van Damme. But still, what a powerful cast.
