"It was just an illusion. u just need sleep," she kept telling herself as the elevator make it's slow deliborate way to the first floor. Elyse searched the lobby anxiously for Steve. *y would he be here?* she thought to herself. She looked back at the elevator. One thing's for sure. She sure as hell wasn't going back up stairs alone. She asked the man at the front desk to send someone up to fix her phone and to check to see if she had any messages. He sent a repairman and told her she had a package. It was a gift. Wrapped in an elegant printed paper and finished with a big bow. She smiled at the box. "Steve," she mumbled. Elyse waited downstairs for the repairman and went up the elevator with him. she till refused to go back upstairs alone. As they rose, the hotel worker made small talk with her and by the time they reached her floor she was smiling at her foolish fear. The first thing she noticed was that the bear was no longer by her door. She pushed the thought aside, assuming she had just imagined it. The worker fixed her phone and bid her good night. She smiled warmly at the package and opened it. Her smile quickly turned into an expression of horror as she stared into the eyes of the porcelin doll............
