Buffy listened to Lorne and sighed. Maybe she could catch up to Riley - and then...
"Angel, I'm gonna see if I can catch him."
She pulled a envelope out of her back pocket.
"Europe. Tomorrow. Check it out."
She grinned, hoping he wouldn't mind her chasing Riley.
"I'll be back, and Lorne - wanna come? I may need some help, and right now, you're the best shot, what with your demon-ness."
She headed up the stairs after blowing a kiss to Angel.

"Um...er...right..." Lorne mentioned, glancing at Angel. "I guess I'm going too."
He turned and followed Buffy. "What are you planning to do?!"

She grabbed her jacket from the closet and tossed Lorne his, then grabbed Willow's keys from her jacket and ran to the car.
"I think we may be taking a ride on a jet. Get in."

Lorne caught his jacket and began to put it on as he rushed after Buffy. He got in the car and slammed the door. "We have to hurry...whatever they're planning to do to Atticus...they're doing tonight."

Riley didn't bother asking the driver to make it fast, considering he wasn't really in a rush, and a few minutes in the car wasn't really going to make much of a difference in time either way.
He didn't really know how to feel about seeing Buffy again.
She had been acting very off.. probably forehead man's fault.

She drove as quick as possible.. considering she still had no license and was without one for several very good reasons, the main one being she SUCKED at driving.
"Well, there's only one place he could be, only one airport where he could have a ride waiting. We'll be there in a few minutes," She yelled over the blaring radio and the screech of the tires.
About 10 minutes later they pulled into the airport, where they came upon a small jet and no Riley. Until he pulled up several minutes later.

magalabuddy At that moment, another man came up to her. “Come on, let’s get you some soup, okay? You’ve been out of it for days, sweet girl.” She couldn’t remember where she might have seen him. He seemed nice, and she needed nice about now before she exploded. Her hand slowly laid on top of his as she tried to at least gesture her body forward.
Phoenix watched Connor and Kennedy come into the kitchen. She had come back down after escorting Fred and Wesley into their separate rooms.
"Kennedy! You're ok! That's freakin' great, very exciting. Hungry?"

magalabuddy Oz made sure to clear a path for her and Connor. He was afraid to say or do something, anything that would only create more explosions. Willow…goodness, what about Willow? He turned to see her, still standing in shock. She almost seemed unsure as to what took place just now. Was she okay? Did Kennedy's words cave Willow's heart and soul? “…Willow are you…I mean, everything is gonna be fine…” If only he could believe his own words, then everything would calm into happier moments. He knew Willow probably didn’t believe him, if she heard him at all. Yeah, there was guilt. Of course there was guilt... Willow took a few steps after Kennedy.. but stopped. This may hurt Kennedy, but Willow wasn't... this wasn't... She turned and took Oz's face and cradled it between the warmth of her palms. "You need to know and believe - this was not what she said. It wasn't some kind of payback, Oz. Ok? Believe me? If I were still in love with Kennedy I couldn't have made.. slept with you. It wouldn't have ever gone that far, you know it."She kissed him. "I don't know what's up with us, it's all sorts of wonky, but that's ok with me. I will fix this stuff with Kennedy, but only to heal the friendship. I cannot tell you enough, it's been over between Kennedy and me since.. Well since she went and slept with Gunn..."She looked at the kitchen door. "I'm not hungry anymore, ok?"

Lorne got out of the car, and stood, leaning on the side with his arms folded. He glanced over at Buffy, waiting for her to say something or...do something...

Atticus barely moved as a few doctors walked into his cell, lifting him up by his arms and dragging him out. He didn't fight this time, he barely moved. He just let himself dangle in their grasp with his head dropped, his hair all in his face.
Atticus groaned as they took him into a room and strapped him to a table that was standing against the wall. Atticus rolled his head over, looking up slightly, his eye sight a bit blurry since he had just gotten up from his sleep. He was surrounded by three doctors who had on surgical face masks and were putting on their latex gloves.
One doctor was walking up to him with a rather large needle in his hand, squirting the red liquid out of the top a little bit to test it, and flicking the edge. Atticus barely had time to attempt to move before the man walked up and stuck the needle in the side of his neck.
After a few seconds, the effects began to take over, and he became extremely disoriented and his muscles became weak and he couldn't move at all anymore...

“Whoa, hold on a minute there!” Oz felt like he was seeing Willow for the first time. Her relationship with Kennedy was falling a part way before he arrived, but he still felt like an escape goat. “Let me get this straight, she cheated on you, with a guy, and you slept with me, but not to get even.” He hand rushed through his hair. This was insane. “Listen to what you are saying, Willow. You don’t know what is up. You feel ‘wonky’. Willow, you need to figure out what you want, what you need before anything else. And when I say anything else, I mean Kennedy...and I mean me.” He didn’t want to create any false images, any illusions. “Look, even if the love was falling a part, what we did was wrong.” Oz held her hand tightly. “I don’t regret any of it, but you know I am right. You know how I feel about you, Willow. That’s never gonna change. But I need you to know exactly what it is that you want.” His kissed her hand. "Once you know what you truly want, let me know. I can wait." He wanted this more than anything right now. But he wanted to make sure Willow wanted it for the right reasons. Not because he was an old love, not because Kennedy cheated on her. He wanted her to be with him because she truly wanted to be.
((miss michelle says it's scapegoat, not an escape goat.... you have me ROLLING OVER HERE. i think i might have done a little peepee in my panties. ROTF))

The pictures of Willow and that guy flipped through her mind. That is not love. That is vengeance. Willow is not the vengeance type, though. Willow was nice, smart, funny, honest...Kennedy felt like someone was wearing a Willow mask on purpose, just to hurt her, to destroy her.
“I can’t, I just can’t anymore!” The tears overflowed as Kennedy ran out of the kitchen she turned toward the front door, but saw Willow and her “new man”. Geez. Lesbianism isn’t something he can just turn on and off when she damn pleased. She ran right by them. Her hands flew up in defensive mode toward Willow.
“Don’t touch me!”
She opened the front door and slammed it shut.
Her heart was mangled in ways she thought not possible. Her racing away stopped as she gasped at the sight of the beast, waiting for her.
“No, not again! Stay away!”
But the beast made some strange hand gesture and pointed at her. Kennedy couldn’t move. Relapses of the dark ruin-like facility came into her mind. She let out a shout of pain as she could feel her right hand begin to sizzle. The symbol on her right hand glistened, but did not appear to burn. She was at his mercy.
“We shall talk now, human.” He growled at her as he walked toward her.
"As long as you do not die on me!"

His eyes touched sincerity as Oz continued to hold Willow’s hand. He wanted this more than anything. He was happy that Willow had chosen him. But the set up was wrong. For all of them. He wanted to know that Willow was not fumbling because of what they once were. He was afraid to give it his all to only find her returning to Kennedy. That would hurt beyond any pain he has ever felt. Oz smiled at her, trying to create some comfort.
“I want you to know what is right for you.” Oz could feel her nails as he gripped her hand tightly.
“I can...” his thoughts fell short as he heard screams coming from the outside. Was that...Kennedy screaming?

When Riley exited the towncar, he was more than shocked to see Buffy standing out there with the demon. What the hell....
He walked up to them, and stood a foot or so away from Buffy, speaking in a hushed whisper.
"What are you doing here?"

Buffy answered Lorne's look with a shrug, waiting for Riley to approach.
"We're coming with you, Ry. Got champagne on that thing?"
She proceeded to walk toward the airplane, jauntily, heading up the stairs, then finding a seat in the center - or at least as close to the center as possible. She really hated flying.
