>>He patted down his black chain pants, clearing away what he could of dirt. The male paused, before slowly straightening<< Nor will you. There's a reason I live in the middle of the woods. I don't like to be disturbed. >>If looks could kill...well, Cassy wouldn't have to worry about her bruised hand<< Stay as long as you want in the nearby town. Or even right here if you want to attempt the wilderness. If I were you however...I wouldn't follow us back to camp...and I wouldn't let me see you lurking around the edges. >>He sharply brought down an arm, swinging around his a katar<< Just a piece of advise.

Not only did his look bother Cassandra but only caused her to wink at him. This woman was nothing but trouble walking. "My, aren't you charming? But I need to know where your camp is so I can get to my sister and get to know you. I hardly can trust you'll come and visit me." When she said 'you' she looked over at Cala as well. "So you might as well get to showing me already."

Calanthia shook her head. Of course Cassi wouldn't take his warnings seriously. OF COURSE she would just say things to try and provoke him. "Um, shall we head back?" She seemed to be trying to distract Jyn from any upset feelings he might have over that last bit of tone of voice Cassandra threw at him. "I hope your ankle isn't bothering you too much."

The wolf had began to nudge Cassi away from Jyn.

Thats not how things work here >>His tone was colder then winters heart, as his face remained unchained. No anger, no disgust. Simply, ice. He leaned against a tree<< I'd sooner have my head impaled on a pike then willingly lead you to my campsite. >>The male glanced up at the sky once before looking back at Cassy, completely ignoring Cala. His tone was softer now, almost gentle as he secretly jabbed<< We have about 5 hours until nightfall, and nothing is darker then this forest at night, with no lights but the moon, stars, and fireflies. Cala and I know the way, but I wonder how you'll fair against my traps. Even if you follow right behind us.

Calanthia sighed and looked at her sister in defeat. "Look I'll promise to come out here to see you. I'll even give you something of mine to hold onto as proof that I'll be back out here to get it back." She reached up to her hair ornament and pulled it free, allowing her lovely red hair to fall down behind her. She handed it over. "I'll be back for that tomorrow. But right now I want to get us back so I can start to make Jyn dinner. He's had enough of a long day."

"Traps?! Who the hell do you think-" Cassandra was about this close to saying something completely rude and start a fight with Jyn when her sister handed over her hair piece. Taking it, she looked at Jyn. "See this?" She held it up for him to see. "This is important to my little sister there. So make sure she comes back to get it." It was almost a command or a threat, whichever way Jyn wanted to take it. Both ways were bad. "Come back soon and see me, Little Sis!! Make sure you bring this boy with you too!"

Already the wolf started to lead the way back. However, whenever the two of them would start to move, the wolf would fall behind. She was going to make sure that Cassandra didn't follow them.

Yes. Traps. To catch rabbits. And she can go and see you herself. >>He wasn't going to rise to the bait. She could suddenly catch fire for all he cared...but then again, that was Jyn himself. Even if he liked someone<< I myself will have nothing to do with you. >>He pushed off the tree to start off towards the wolf, using his willpower to ignore his foot until he could safely hobble out of Cassy's vision<<

>>Feeling Aki's arms so gently around her almost had the princess cry even harder. She was nothing but a child still. Her father was right. Even when she tried to fix things...she still ended up making a bigger mess then if she left it alone<< Zell...I am a great deal more lax then the majority of royalty should ever be among commoners. And that is in comparison to how I was when I first came upon you. The careful dictation, the shifting of masks depending on situation...I would hardly let you see an ankle or give me a hug. And often reserved my laughter and true smiles. Our ways confound you to every fiber within you. Over the years perhaps you would grow accustomed to the procedures and rules...but you will not be happy. >>Arigon, if she closed her eyes, she could pretend it was Zell holding her. Those strong arms held all the comfort she needed. Her eyes flicked open, shimmering. He...he was going to...propose? Slowly...oh so slowly...she reached out to overlay a hand on one of the SeeD's. She loved him more then her kingdom...loved him more then her old life...loved him more...then Mujaki<< It still is not too late to ask me, my Prince. >>Things were calming down once more, the princess relaxing. He felt it in his arms, the woman almost at ease, almost. He got her in time. If he had chosen to watch outside of her room, or had not been paying attention during her bathing...Zell would have never forgiven him. And he wouldn't blame him<<

Although Zell would fully agree with Aki -though even under those circumstances he would be more forgiving of the water dragon than either would be on themselves- the fistfighter was not permitting himself to think in such 'what ifs' at the moment. Nor was he likely to. There was no time for it. Not right now. Later... Later he would thank Aki and bless him for having chosen what was needed to save Maryline from her own choice.

His mind was responding to her comments quicker than Zell could bring himself to open his mouth. Times change. You'd like King Conrad... He did not know the kindly bear-man was now legally his father. Zell was not thinking that, only that he wouldn't interrupt Maryline. Remembering every moment they shared together, how she slowly warmed and relaxed and loosened with him Zell almost missed when she stopped speaking. He was watching as her bright blue eyes closed. He opened his mouth to say his thoughts when her eyes opened again and he found himself lost in the diamonds that had appeared to shimmer within her eyes. Sharply his mouth shut only enough to start to smile, even before Maryline spoke. The light in her eyes was enough to start to lift him back up.

Then her words... her words floored him. In a good way. 'Not too late.' His grin -that happy, boyish grin- spread over his face and lit eyes already bright with love. The hand Maryline lay hers on turned gently beneath hers so their palms touched as he lifted his head. Shifting from squatting to leaning on one knee Zell sat up and brought his other hand over to clasp her hand between both of his. He opened his mouth, taking a deep breath and looking for all the world like he was about to make a long-winded speech. Tears still clinging to his eyes and eyelashes Zell shook his head lightly once inadvertently freeing a few of them. His smile turned more loving and he dropped head and gaze to be on a level with hers. "Maryline, will you marry me?"

Short, simple. With what they had managed to get into, there was plenty of other occasion for extravagance. Besides... this was more him.

Cassandra smiled brightly. "As you wish it, Jyn." Her green eye winked. It was the way she so easily agreed to that condition that made the wolf look back in her direction. "You don't have to have anything to do with me as long as you have nothing to do with my sister's future." She smiled brightly.

Calanthia was silent before giving her sister a look. She then turned away from Cassandra and walked after Jyn to ensure he would be fine. When they were out of ear shot, she looked at his ankle with worry. "You've been pushing yourself very hard. If you don't rest up, I'm concerned it won't ever heal right. I'll take care of dinner tonight. Please, rest when we get back?" She could only ask of him.

>>If she had any idea how much times change, she would be truely horrified. The female looked to his face for any clue of what he was feeling. Then she had it. A huge, boyish grin, the one she had fallen in love with. And then, he shifted into a position every anthro knew quite well. Her heart beat quickened, even though she knew what was coming, and that her answer was meaningless. She still was a bargining chip. But...as Aki's arms slipped from her, everything except them faded into nothingness<< Yes Zell...I will marry you. >>At this point of time, as Zell shifted onto one knee, his face turned BRIGHT crimson. He coughed slightly, dropping his arms from the princess<< Um...eh...if you need me, I'll be spying again. >>He took hold of the dagger before throwing back up his invisability cowl and shuffling off into a corner. Time to become near nonexistant again<<

~~~~
What ever helps you sleep at night. >>He responded almost sadly, for her of course. Just for added insult. Like a sister Cala hasn't seen in months, even years, was going to make that much impact on their relationship. He started his limping<< I'll be fine. >>And when a question rose he wanted to answer, he stopped ignoring Cala. And the bengal actually missed this side of him. He glanced at her, and almost instantly his features softened. Just a little, but it was there<< ...So I'll keep to just cooking, if you go catch it. >>Compramise. He spoiled her<<
Calanthia smiled brightly, as her energy level shot up. She nodded to him. "Alright. I'll get the wood and stuff too so you don't have to put much more stress on that ankle." Seeing him limp like that, she moved closer to his side. She almost made the motion to try and take some of his weight off but she thought better and sighed. Cassi put Jyn in such a mood she dare not to try anything that could upset him further.
It was at that thought, she looked away. "I'm sorry for Cassi." She spoke that as if an offhanded whisper. As if to distract from the topic she thought for a moment. "I don't think we set up any traps last time we took them down. So I guess it will be fish tonight. Is that okay with you Jyn?"
PostPosted: Mon Aug 18, 2008 9:43 pm
>>He nodded, shifting his gaze to stare infront once more. It was a nice air, dispite his limping. He just liked being next to cala again, as much as he dispised the thought<< Its okay... >>He flashed her a small smile. The tiniest imaginable at the thought of snubbing Cassy<< We didn't. >>The trap thing aimed at the elder, had been nothing but a bluff. Oh how it felt good to get back at that spoiled child<<
"I thought as much but I didn't dare say anything in front of Cassi." Just that small bit of smile lit up Cala's face and she smiled back. Calanthia's smile lessened but didn't leave her face. "You can't pick your family. I know she must be terrible to you, but really, she's the one who helped me the most. Without her I wouldn't have ever met you. So I am grateful to her, if for nothing else, for you." She smiled to Jyn.
As they approached the camp her mood dampened a little more. Her mind slipped into memories. So much had happened. Cassi's words had stuck to her like glue and out of fear she reached up and ran her fingers across the necklace she had been given. It was just enough for her to get back her courage. Cala put on a brave smile as she was careful to make sure Jyn had somewhere to sit by the fire. "I'll go get the wood." She smiled at the genet, leaving the stones by the fire pit. It took her time to get enough but she figured Jyn could use this time to collect himself. After all, he just came back today.
>>He almost blushed. Almost. In a rushing beat that one sentence came back with an intensity that threatened to freeze him. She loved him. The rest of him became almost fuzzy as they continued walking, his foot even hurting less. He hobbled to the camp fire once they reached the clearing, planning on sitting down on the trunk<< I'll get out the skinning knives. >>He responded, looking at the bengal. Quietly, fluently, the male slipped an arm around the females waist to pull her to him so her body pressed against his<< Cala... >>He leaned down slightly, and brushed his lips against her forehead in a delicate kiss<< Hurry back.
Zell noted Aki letting go and stepping away but kept his attention right where it was supposed to be: on his girl. At Maryline’s answer the energetic fistfighter leapt to his feet with the agility he had trained into himself while managing to gently lift her from the bed and into his arms painlessly in a single deft motion to swing her around with a joyous “Booya!”
At which instantly his face turned crimson remembering he was in her room where he should not be and Zell set Maryline to the floor but not out of his arms as he fair crushed her to him as if that would pull back the sound of the exclamation by burying his face in her golden hair. Zell had forgotten about the wizard’s spell to keep sounds in. Despite fear of discovery he radiated joy and relief. Then sheepishness as he remembered the spell, eyes twinkling as if to tell on him. Snuggling Maryline close he murmured to her. His eyes flicked once to the last visual of Aki as he disappeared, quietly thanking even in that fleet acknowledgement. “You scared the hell outta me for a while there, woman-princess. You an ‘ me though… we’ll make it through anything.”
From the bathroom, Bill recollected his own proposal to Fleur. It seemed so long ago. He did not regret the haste to marry in the threat of Lord Voldemort. He loved her. Idly he wondered if she was here… would they have to court and marry all over again? Some things changed here… and there was no guarantees what they had would be the same.
But he could hope, and he could dream.
Until then he would help the others of his new & strange ‘family’ find theirs. He smiled, and remained where he was at the joyousness he could hear –very glad he had put the silence spell around them.
**Thank you, Aki.** The Merge whispered as one for the swordsman alone. Yes, they knew Maryline was his dear friend and he would have done so anyway but there was more to their thanks than that.
"Please be careful." was her response to him getting the knives. Calanthia was just about to say something when he got the better of her. She was NOT expecting that and it sent her face into a flaming blush as she looked up at him. A smile lit up her lips even though her heart raced. She looked so innocent at that moment, blushing, looking up at him. Her arms wrapped around him slowly and she hugged him tightly, nuzzling the side of his neck. She spoke with a small purr. "I will. You were missed far too much for me to want to be gone for long."
The bengal female reluctantly let go of him violet eyes looking at him with adoration. She had no choice they did need firewood and fish. As if to add to that shy factor that already played off her blush, she quickly kissed his cheek before she ran off to grab some branches. She moved quicker then usual as she was thrilled. "He's finally back. Even if I can't keep him for more then a day, I'm glad I get this much!" She was talking to herself again. It didn't take long before she had plenty of wood and was back to load them up into the pit.
>>The princess gasped as suddenly she was in the air, her hands lighting upon his shoulders in support. The female managed to smile through the tears, her eyes becoming bright for the first time in a good while. How many hours had it been since she last touched the male? It seemed like days. At the very least. Gently her feet touched the ground and she properly wrapped her arms around his neck, nuzzling her cheek into his shoulder gently<< My deepest apologise...is there any way I could make it up? >>He nodded to the merge, though of course they couldn't see as he got resituated<< Anything for Maryline. >>That poor princess...even things patched up with Zell, still nothing had changed for her. She was still royalty. He closed his eyes, giving the couple further privacy. Zell had better not screw things up this time<<
