Princess exits her dorm room looking pale, and white as a sheet. She slowly walks over to the stairs and carefully decends them one at a time. "I must get exercise and plenty of vitamin c." By the time she gets to the bottom she feels as if she is practically crawling to the couch to rest. She notices Lyra, Mikki, and Miranda all down stairs getting excited and frantic at the same time.

"Hi guys, I am so sorry but I have been sick since last weekend. I unfortunately was not able to get my COMC nor Charms finals completed as I wanted. Do you think there is still time for me to turn in my work without hurting our house?" Princess shamefully looked at her fellow housemates as the tears began to well up in her eyes.

"Oh no. Are you feeling any better now? If you have been sick since before the finals were posted, then you may be able to take the finals still. Talk to the professors and explain what happened."

"I have been sick all this week, and I am still a little bit sick. I think it is too late to ask the professors though about my finals. It was only 2 that I missed-thank goodness. I was on top of things before I got sick, didn't know that the professors would sneak two finals on us during the last week of term. sad "

"Okay guys, I just got finished with both my COMC, and Charms finals. I hope that even though I may not get all full points that I have earned some for our house. I did explain to Professor Loveheart why my exams were late and I hope she does excuse me for now turning everything in somewhat completed. I didn't do the extra credit for COMC--just because in RL I don't have the book. sad Guess I will definitely need it for next term. smile Thanks for not being upset with me guys, I love you all."

Princess quietly walks over to the couch and sits at the very edge, her eye lids slowly starting to get heavier, and heavier. Soon she was fast asleep, dreaming of Mr. George Weasley.

"What are we supposed to do? We're stuck in the common room until this magic thing is worked out because the door to the common room uses magic (obviously). I'm so bored." Lyra goes up to her dormitory, gets a book, and brings it back down to the common room to read.

Mikki sees Princess sleeping on the couch, uncovered, and says "Accio blanket," before she remembers that there happens to be a magical blackout. She then silently went upstairs to get her a blanket. If she was sick she should be taking care of herself. She brought the blanket down and covered her friend and got her a bottle of water. One of the benefits of having a muggle mother, she thought. She sat with a book in her poofy chair and read for a while. Just as she was finishing a chapter, her stomach growled. "Anyone else hungry?" she asked. She wanted to know how much food she would have to bring down from her trunk. Benefit number 2, she thought as she awaited answers.

Miranda slightly calms down. "People, Miranda's birthday is tomorrow!" She begins to search franticly for birthday decorations to hang.

|| askdahskdahdkahksd OH MY GOD. D: I am so sorry for disappearing like I did, everyone. I'm so busy right now trying to get all of my school courses finished for the summer and I completely forgot about the Guild. *grovels* I am so sorry!
Now, how to get Carrigan caught up again... ||

Carrigan had been admittedly out of it for the past while. He hadn't interacted with anyone, and missed most, if not all, of the last few classes. Unlike his normal, and typical, Ravenclaw behaviour demanded, the teen had not attended a single final exam, for which he was severely ashamed to think on. Much to his relief, the boy's dormitory had been a safe haven for him during his isolation, or what he was stubbornly referring to, with a clear lack of linguistic ability, his journey of self-discovery. How keeping himself in solitude constituted as a period of self awareness, Carrigan himself had no idea, and if anyone asked, he was at a loss. As it was, no one had, since he hadn't left the dormitory. Now, however, as he sat on his rumpled bedsheets with his clothes in disarray and hair sticking up oddly, he felt relieved. Oddly.

The Ravenclaw was reading with the aid of the Lumos spell, a small frown on his lips, when the tip of his wand extinguished in a puff, and then the lights followed. He frowned even more, an eyebrow raised. "Lumos." Nothing happened. Carrigan rubbed his temple, wondering how he could still falter with the most simple of spells. Most likely, skipping out on class contributed. "Lumos."

Several unsuccessful attempts later found the brunette reluctantly approached the dormitory door, his wand stowed behind his ear for lack of a pocket to place it in. It was pitch black in the room, save for the embers of a dying fire, but Carrigan was used to the layout of the four posters and felt his way to the handle by sheer force of habit. He twisted the knob, listening unhappily to the sounds of muffled voices from below, and opened the door. It creaked, as it tended to do. When he looked down the stairs, he saw the faint outlines of the other girls in the light of the fireplaces. "What's happened?" he asked, his voice hoarse from not talking for several weeks. Carrigan winced and rubbed his throat. "Why's the lights out?"

[[It's okay! You didn't miss much. It's been pretty dead in here for the past few weeks. BUT TODAY'S MIRANDA'S BIRTHDAY! WHAT SHALL WE DO FOR HER????]]

Mikki, surprised, looked over to where a male voice seemed to come from. Standing there, she saw Carrigan, voice husky and hair messy. Where had he been the in the past weeks? She realized she was staring, so she answered his question, voice a little unsure. "There's been a magical blackout. We don't know much about it, but we've been told to stay in our common rooms until we can get more info." Mikki creased her brow and raised an eyebrow in question toward Carrigan. She hoped they were good enough friends where he would tell her, but that seemed unlikely. She would have to ask Miranda. "I was just asking whether anyone was hungry. Would you like something? My mother's a muggle, so she sends me food all the time."

Princess still trying to sleep on the couch smiled when she felt a sudden warmth come over her. It was as if her body was mentally speaking to her when her arms automatically reached down to pull up more of the covers that Mikki so generously placed upon her. She rolled over slightly as she covered herself. a few minutes had passed when Princess heard the voice of Carrigan. She tried to open her eyes but could not tear away from her dream like state. "No, Carrigan, No!" She yelled in her sleep. Princess began tossing around on the couch trying to wake herself up, and then she suddenly burst into a fit of giggles. After about a minute she shook herself awake and rubbed her eyes sleepily while looking around the common room.

Miranda jumps up and down. "Happy birthday, Miranda!!"
PostPosted: Sun Jun 29, 2008 11:48 am

|| Happy birthday, Miranda! 8D ||

"Blackout?" Carrigan muttered, frowning. That would explain why his Lumos spell hadn't worked, and honestly, he was glad to have anything to blame it on, since he didn't like thinking of himself as inadept at magic. Wryly, he smiled, and took a few steps down the stairwell. "Us Ravenclaws are stuck here regardless of whether or not we want to, I suppose, then," he said. The knocker was magical, after all. "I wonder if the portraits are still moving about. If they aren't, the Gryffindors might also be stuck..."

He paused at the foot of the stairs and looked up at the ceiling. Normally, the domed ceiling was painted with stars, but the lack of magic in Hogwarts rendered them impossible to see. He rubbed his face, sighed, and then ran his hands through his hair to try and tame it. "I'd love something to eat," Carrigan said. "Although, I do wonder why you have food in here. Can you prepare it without magic, or is it all just sweets? I'm afraid I don't have much of a sweet tooth." He smiled apologetically, which slipped off his face a moment later when he heard Princess talking in her sleep. His face reddened several shades as he felt his stomach drop unpleasantly, and he turned his eyes on the girl with a look of surprise. "Excuse me?" he asked thinly as Princess awoke drowsily, sounding nervous.

"Haven't you ever had any muggle food? It's mostly just imperishable things, like crackers and chips and stuff. I'll just bring the whole box down," Mikki said, quite astonished at how lost this wizard was when without magic. She went up the stairs 2 at a tme and opened her door. She went over to her trunk and grabbed the large box of food her mother had been sending her, filed with many different things she had requested, some half opened and others untouched. She went carefully back down the steps and set the box upon the table near the center of the room. "For food I have an assortment of crackers, dried fruit, cereal, cookies, chips, and some candy. I also have water and juice boxes for your drinking needs. Thank God for a muggle mother. I get the best of both worlds!" Mikki grabbed a bag of dried pineapple, pushed the box toward Carrigan, and sat herself next to Princess. "Finally up? Here, have some of this. It's AMAZING. And good for you. You feeling better at all?" Mikki decided to ignore her outburst a little earlier. If she didn't know, it was probably better.

[[Happy birthday Miranda!! Carrigan, don't worry about disappearing. I disappeared for a few months at one point without notifying anyone beforehand and everyone forgave me when I returned.]]

Lyra's stomach grumbled when Mikki mentioned food. She blushed bright red, embarrassed. When Mikki returned, Lyra went over to see what was in the box. "I've had some muggle food before, but not much." She looked skeptically at the dried pineapple Mikki pulled out of the box and decided to go for the cereal instead. She'd had the things called Cheerios before and knew they didn't taste too horrible. Lyra took a handful and began eating them "Thanks Mikki. I think you saved us all."

[[Hmmm...I've not roleplayed in here for the longest time. Oh well.
Okay, as I'm your Head of House, I should be in the common room keeping order (as much as I can, of course)...for the sake of convenience, shall we assume that I was in here before the blackout/lockdown/etc? It's either that, or I need to somehow get ahold of mountain climbing equipment and find a way in through one of the tower windows...]]
