Duellist
Duellist coughed. "Midori... I'm a predatory creature of the night. I'm not good on this whole... comforting thing. So, I'm just going to speak the truth." He clapped his hands together and withdrew them, pulling a blanket out from the void. He put it around her shoulders, gently. "If it's any consolation, Midori... I wish I had your problems."

He looked down at the sobbing young woman, and felt guilty. "I know it doesn't mean much, but... you're probably the closest thing to a real friend I've had in at least 80 years." He paused, knowing that wasn't very hard. He had been forced to kill his first friend, his second had turned him into a vampire... and Bertram was an incompetent wimp. The assassin knew he was rambling, but... "you do good things for these people, Midori. Don't just break down. They all appreciate what you do. I appreciate what you do."

Duellist tried a joke, then. "...also, if you want to take it from someone who's been male for over a century, females are superior. I'll be glad if you don't tell Taryn I admitted it..."

Midori would only sniffle. She would say 'At least you had friends.' ..However, to have had and lost.. That had to be the worst feeling in the world. Giving a second sniffle, she would only pull the blanket over her head as a hood to keep her face from being visable to anyone.

Yes, yes.. People may have appreicated what Midori did. But, people appreciate doctors for saving their lives.. Midori was in the state of mind that 'she had no friends.. Everyone was just people she knew.' And.. as it true? Sure, she'd had laughs with a few of the residents.. However, how many of them really thought of her as a friend?

She wouldn't pester Duellist with her problems anymore. She would hold onto the blanket he provided with one hand, and pick up her scythe with the other. Finally, she would stagger off drunk with sorrow, dragging the instrument behind her.

The woman realizes that she left her hat in the bar, but she shrugs, not really caring about the hat at the moment. It was the least of her concern. She steps into the lobby, shaking her head, before walking out the sliding electric doors. Once outside, she scans the general area. Even though she sees nothing, she heads off into the night, toward the graveyard. But she didn't know that.

-Mimi nodded, those silvery locks of hair brushing against her cheek. Hesitatingly she met his gaze, only to look a way a moment later.- Yes, yes, I'm fine, thank you.

-Without another word she darted on out of there, well, as much as she could without seeming as scared as she really was. She glanced over to the little boy and sighed. That made two gentlemen that gave her the willies.- Cocoa anyone?

-Ahh.. cocoa, the drink to soothe her nerves... -

"Allow me!" He would jog to catch up to her after she'd darted into the bar. If she'd give him the chance, he could make something a hell've alot better then simple hot cocoa. And with that, he would hop up and slide over the bar landing breifly behind it.

Hakan seemed to be a little different from the mysterious person she'd seen previously. However, it would only serve to help him along to achieve a greater purpose. He wouldn't even give Mimi a chance to answer as he began to gather cups.

The assassin couldn't resist a parting call to the young woman. "If you let people in, Midori, maybe you'll find that you're not as alone as you thought!" He paused, actually concerned now. He wanted to send someone to watch her, keep her from doing anything stupid. But who?

He couldn't send Bertram, that was obvious. At the same time, though, he wasn't inclined to punish the wraith any more. Taryn would know what to do, but she had said she had business outside the park right now. At a loss, he finally summoned forth a small glowing light. A will-o-wisp. Sending the simple commands 'follow' and 'protect', the vampire sent the light on its way, masked from mortal vision. "That's all I can do until I see Taryn tonight..."

He sighed, and zapped himself to the hotel entrance. Now, more than ever, he needed to know that there were some happy people in the park.

However, he did not need to see the boy who had beaten him in a riddle contest. 'Oh, great. The monkey.'

][I'd like a flash back! xd Things seem to be getting back to normal, outside of the depressed Midori who's going to go pout in her home. o.o][

Midori would simply ignore Duellist's comment. ..The vampire did have a point. But.. Since when did vampiric assassins know anything!? Since when were they so nice?! Well, Midori wasn't in the condition to think about such things. Currently, her mind was rather blank. She didn't want to think about anything..

Really, all she wanted to do was dig a hole and curl up in it to die. However, she was much too stubborn to do anything as stupid as suicide. Unstead, she would simply drag her body towards the graveyard, making sure the blanket was still hiding her body from view.

-Mimi sighed, nervously tugging at the sleeves of that oversized, lavender, cashmere sweater. And where was that lovely tail of hers? Curled about her waist, hidden by the sweater of course! Well, if he wanted to make the cocoa, fine... but what was she to do now?

And the little freakish boy that had almost crushed her that day.. what about him? Almost as if resigned to her fate, she slumped in the first stool she reached, her left hand cradeling her chin. Come now, there was bound for someone to show! Someone she knew and trusted...

It was then when her mind drifted off to what the young man had said. Sirus, her boyfriend? How did he come up with that? The more she thought about it, the redder her face became. Eventually, she cleared her throat and looked about. It was then when she spied Duellist. Glad to see someone she knew, the girl waved meekly.- Evenin'... how's Taryn?

((you want one midori? well here comes one, FYI during flash back scenes, the entire park is affected, so that means Midori and duellist are in a playground type area and the them park is gone and so is the arcade and arena, its just forest and a park, and the Hotel but it's not namted Jekyll de Hyde, cause thats the amusment park, no this hotel was here originally and called Brandworth Hotel, it burnt down in 1977. the Hotel bar and resturant is a dance hall with a bar in the flash back scenes))

The woman makes it to the graveyard, and she really doesn't appear to be too scared. Even though she has heard many things about this place being haunted. She jumps onto one of the larger gravestones, and sits on it, looking at the name. No one she knew. She places her feet on the gravestone face, giggling lightly, a wicked smile appearing on her face. Why was she smiling in such a manner?

"Hrmm? Oh...she's fine." He didn't want to talk about how Taryn was doing right now. His beloved was still depressed, and he had no idea how to make her feel better. "...can I have some Female 17? Warmed up?"

The assassin then cast around for something to say. "So... how's Sirus been?" Duellist asked, taking a seat at a bar and growling at any of the milling spirits who even looked like they were going to sit next to him.

~~

Bertram sighed, kicking his heels on the fence by the rollercoaster. He had been having a rough couple of days. That was the only reason he could have done what he did to Midori. He should have just been satisfied with the punishment his master had used....

((Hey, what happened to Teddy and Eleanore?))

~~

The will-o-wisp zoomed after Midori, following her inside her house. It was invisible to any normal senses, of course, and would only contact its master if Midori looked like she was on suicide risk or something.

-Sirus. Ever since he'd been mistaken for her boyfriend, even his name had a strange reaction with Mimi. Once more, her cheeks flushed and all she did was offer a polite cough.- He's... alright.. I suppose.

-Again, she lowered her eyes to study the soft material of her sweater. If she stretched it out too much, Ryoko would throw a fit.- I... haven't really spoken to him since he arrived.
