The new upcomming codex is superb, finally the Orks can do what they are meant to do, swamp their enemy in BIG numbers!
I miss some stuff though, like the 2D6 penetration roll with burnas, and squig units (feral orks) and Painboy characters.
But Shokk Attack Gun... <3 FINALLY some of ye old stuff are commin' back, just like they did for the Nids.
I don't see the bad thing about that they won't make new buggies/traks, they're perfect as they are, and it's easy to swap the drivers, also costumizin' the gubbinz on ork vehicles is the best part about playing Space Orks.

That's 15 quid. I'll round that up to about 30 dollars. Is one metal model really worth that much? Daemon Princes are somewhat large, but this is just a normal sized Ork with a gun...
I'm wondering who'll pay that much for a model, or if they'll try and convert on of their own.

-Mykal I think it's a fair price for a fairly neat model, and it's a nob-sized ork, not a normal sized one. By building your own one you either need to be good with greenstuff and plasticard or just modelling (by using a Nob and giving him the gun byordering the old components). Also it's not like anything else in the hobby is "cheap" so why questioning this? Who are we to question GW? XD

How did the old codex prevent people from swamping enemies with numbers. One of my friends had no trouble fielding 90 orks at the minimum when we used to play.

How did the old codex prevent people from swamping enemies with numbers. One of my friends had no trouble fielding 90 orks at the minimum when we used to play. Before people had to go for footslogging armies only to be able to swamp, and remove the vehicles and such. Now when they cost as much as a lone guardsman you can field those 100+ boyz AND all those stompy and shooty stuff. I fielded 100+ boyz, battlewagon, looted wagon, trukks, buggies and traks in only 1500 points. So in that way it's easier, plus 9/10 points (slugga or shoota) for a boy isn't anything compared to the pointcost of a guardsman, sadly they've risen the pointcost on the grots, which is a shame, BUT you do get BS3. n_n

Well 10 or 9 might be low, but 6 is better.
But it's also because they loose the choppa rule (4+ save at max) and made them to normal CCW's.
But also the shootas are better now, instead of rapid fire they're assult weapons instead.
They've also removed some points for their special weapons (even removing them and put some in specialist squads, like burnas, no longer available for normal boy mobs) but also a limit of 1 per 10 orks, so no longer 10 man strong units with 3 big shootas, now you need 10 for 1, 20 for 2 and 30 for 3.

Some of the changes make sense, but removing the heavy CCW rule for the choppas seemed pretty retarded. I think they cut that out of the chaos codex as well, which is odd as HCCWs are listed in the 40k rule book next to force weapons, lightning claws, and so on. Going to be a bit odd having rules for something no one is allowed to have.

I agree to that.
Now Orks (and berzerkers) have noodles instead of Choppas (or Khornate chainweapons), and thus they get the furious charge rule because it makes them angry to have to slap the enemy with noodles.

I managed to pick up a pdf of the new Ork codex, man the new fluff on Wazzdakka Gutzmek is sweet. I'm really glad for his special character rules too, because otherwise I wouldn't be able to field the all Bike army I want to.

All bike armies are cool, but all speed freaks are even cooler. :B
Trukkboyz is needed.
AND I might be one of the lucky gitz getting the new dex one month before everyone else.
my hobby store is getting three ork spearheads AND 3 codexes which they're only allowed to sell to the buyers of the spearheads, and I'm going to get one of those. :B
SO BOYAH FOR ORK CODEX BEFORE EVERYONE ELSE! XD

Had a peek at those parts and the new Boys sprue comes with enough parts to make eleven models, including a Nob and a Boy armed with rockit launcher or 'eavy shoota, plus extra bits and pieces. The shoota's now come with arms attached, so no more cutting and whatnot in order to get your boys to hold proper shootas.
The bike sprues are brimming with extra bits and pieces though.

Personally, I hate it when guns come attached to arms.

Epic Fail Guy Personally, I hate it when guns come attached to arms. Agreed, bit of a problem when trying to use the gun as a prop, or a bit to a scene or whatever.
