Katare went from one side of Houka to the other, pseudo-instantaneously. "Sweet, I'm finally getting the hang of this new jutsu." Katare began pacing around the area, waiting for something else to happen... of course, Katare's energy caused him to begin sprinting around instead of pacing. Eventually, he decided that perhaps resting was a good idea. He sat down... and, instead of resting, pulled a sandwich out of his pack and began eating. He ate the sandwich rather slowly, and as he was finishing he could've sworn that there were people in the distance...

Izumi somehow managed to lose track of Kyo but the Shi plateau was somewhat large and quite difficult not to find so he had no problems getting there. Finally he came upon a man who he hoped was his first instructor. He bowed respectfully to the man. "Excuse me sir. My name is Izumi Rio and I'm a new student at the academy and I'm looking for a man named Katare."

Katare gulped down the last bite of his sandwich, and smiled at the new student. "That's my name! You really don't need to be so formal with me, though, it's not like I'm an ANBU or anything. Okay, we're going to start off with Phase 1 of your academy training, and that begins with... learning your first jutsu. Watch my hand movements very closely..." Katare made his hand symbols rather quickly, but tried to slow down so that Izumi could get a general idea of what to do. "Henge no Jutsu!" Immediately, a cloud of smoke formed, the smoke clearing to reveal... an open scroll. The open scroll seemed to be projecting a voice... "Okay, this is called henge no jutsu, and it allows you to change forms to look like another person or object. It comes particularly in useful in recon missions, where you need to make sure that nobody notices you. Instructions for the hand symbols and chakra control are on the scroll..." Katare remained in his scroll form, waiting for Izumi to read.

Izumi watched intently as Katare performed the jutsu and commited the hand symbols to memory. Then he spent a few minutes examining the scroll and memorizing its contents. When he thought he had it down he took a few steps back, made the handsigns and attempted to perform the jutsu. "Henge No Jutsu!"

Izumi immediately felt his chakra leave him yet nothing happened. He was so sure he had done the hand symbols correctly. He wanted to try again but he felt drained.

Izumi sat down on the ground to rest and recover his chakra so he could try again. As he rested he replayed his attempt at the jutsu in his mind trying to see where he went wrong. He also re-examined his knowledge of how the jutsu worked. Just as he thought of what he could do to make it work he felt his chakra return to him.

Izumi got to his feet. Now that his chakra was back he could try again. He made the handsigns just as he had before and made another attempt at the jutsu. "Henge No Jutsu!"

Once again Izumi felt his chakra leave him and once again nothing happened. He had failed the jutsu again.

Izumi sat down once again to recharge some chakra so he could continue charging. He sighed and muttered to himself. "Why isn't it working? I'm almost sure I've got the hand signs right.... Maybe my chakra control is off..." He fell silent as he attempted to figure out what was going wrong.

(All academy students have at least 3 Cp, regardless of stats.
And, as for the previous two posts, you would be able to do your failing post and your resting post at the same time, as long as you don't roll for the jutsu during that post. Do you understand?)

Izumi got to his feet and prepared to attempt the jutsu again. "This time I should be able to do it...." Same as the last two times he performed the hand signs and applied what he believed to be the appropriate amount of chakra. "Henge No Jutsu!"

Izumi felt more chakra leave him then had before and suddenly he disappeared in a cloud of smoke. When the smoke cleared Izumi was gone and in his place was the open scroll that Katare had changed into. A few seconds later Izumi reverted to his original form. Success had drained him more then failure had so he sat down and waited for his chakra to come back. As he waited he found that success had put him in a better mood. As his chakra returned he felt confident that he could perform the jutsu a second time.

Izumi made the hand signs to perform the jutsu once again. He felt confident that he could perform the jutsu again and it seemed easier now that he had done it before. "Henge No Jutsu!"

Izumi once again felt his chakra leave him and disappeared in a cloud of smoke. When the smoke cleared standing in Izumi's place was Katare. A few seconds later Izumi reverted back to his original form and sat down to wait for his chakra to return. He was quite pleased with himself for successfully performing the jutsu twice. He felt his chakra return and he stood ready to perform the jutsu for what he hoped would be the last time during this lesson.

Izumi performed the hand signs for Henge No Jutsu once more but for some reason it seemed easier this time. Where as before he had to concentrate to perform them correctly now it seemed to come naturally. "Henge No Jutsu!"
