BOOM BOOM BOOM Maybe watching some of the others would give him a better idea how to throw his darts. Brilliant idea, Thackery, he thought to himself, proudly perking up to follow their actions.
They made it look so easy!
The trick, he decided, must be to try to hit as many balloons as possible, since there were more pink balloons than heartless ones. It was impossible to not come out ahead if he did it that way! Wait...right?
He paused to count the balloons.
Right.
Despite his discovery, it didn't improve his aim.

Maple could only feel herself get more and more flustered from the situation. "N-no," she sputtered out suddenly with a last ditch effort to save the day with one word. It wasn't like he was going to go anywhere, wait was he? But she didn't want to give him the impression that he had made her uncomfortable in anyway. She did enough of that to herself anyways.
"I-I j-just h-have ho-horrible l-luck," she explained in a quiet stuttering voice. So many had tried to give her words of encouragement and so much did she want to believe in them, but it was so much easier to resign herself in how badly she did things. (Mjoll would be disappointed probably).

Brows furrowed as his ears swiveled forward, twitching a bit as he tried to pick up her words. Her voice was so quiet. Heterochromatic eyes scanned the small ghoul from head to toe. Her body language clearly gave away her nervousness. With a raised brow, he shrugged and became relaxed himself. Perhaps if he appeared comfortable, she would too. "I doubt you have horrible luck." He countered. Turning toward the boards again. "I haven't done too well myself recently. It is just challenging." Uru rolled his shoulders before reaching into his back pockets for the pair of leather gloves. Sliding each one on and tightening them. Resting them across his chest, he gave a chuff. "This is probably the only 'booth' I actually go to. Being a guest, I'm not familiar where is allowed."

Molan idly selected a pet from the prize booth, as well as two tickets before wandering back to where people where throwing darts. He watched a few more take turns, noting the canine from earlier had finally decided to take a hand at things again... rather sadly. The second try resulted in just a zero, and the third... well he'd done well. But... his aim was a bit off. Was he another one of those people who said this happened every day? He was a bit curious since, he'd been told on more than one occasion by others their aim was terrible.
Yet each day he seemed to get one, if not multiple, pets. Peculiar. "Bad luck today? Or..?" He asked quietly after a moment, obviously directing it at the dog as he worked to keep the minipet prize he now had under wraps.

Didn't have? Well, obviously this nice boil didn't know the history of Maple's life and times of failures and she doubted he would want to listen to that sort of story (it would probably take days even without her speech impediment). It was better to spare him such details, and maybe even further vague ideas about it. He seemed the type to probably want to give her more encouraging words and as much as she appreciated them, they always sounded about the same.
"I-it ..." The Reaper began, only to stop herself short as she tugged on the ends of her scarf.
Perhaps diving into the information he had provided would be a better diversion than having to focus on her. This could be a chance to attempt to help someone out, even though others were so much better for the job. "I-I d-don't th-think m-much w-would -be cl-closed off f-for you b-besides th-the m-main c-campus and d-dorms." She explained to him as best she could. "Th-there are m-many b-booths open t-to e-everyone." Did he want her to show him around?
Oh jack, how would that go?

He chuckled as he looked out to the other booths. Girls and boys mingled, laughed, and enjoyed themselves with the games the festival had. He honestly could not tell the difference of students and guests. His only indicator were small round objects that they all wore. This place was different, it was open to nearly everyone and people seemed happier here. He certainly would be instead of where he was taught, this place was a sanctuary in comparison. Looking toward the campus' buildings off in the distance, he noted that they looked more like what his teachers had told him rather than the luxurious "school" that he was from. But what interested him more was the surrounding trees and the distant wild places where these minis were. Minis were something that was, ultimately, foreign to his eyes - at least in life. He had only had the experience of two of his own, that he reluctantly left behind for the festival. Though, he'd wager it as a way for his parents to blackmail him into doing what they wanted in the mean time. The thought of that got a soft rumble out of his large chest. "I have been to a room with a teacher and corrividus, a booth of candy, and a cafe. The cafe is where I go when I need to sit for a while. You been?"

The plan was to watch the other students play darts, but Thackery hadn't quite factored in how boring it was to stare at popped (and unpopped) balloons when you weren't the one playing. He fidgeted with his prize and shifted from foot to foot, ears twitching in the direction of a nearby voice. Oh, and they were talking to him! He welcomed the distraction with a smile, waving cheerfully in greeting. "Hi! Um, yeah, I...don't think this is a game I'm really good at," he admitted, glancing briefly at his feet. "But you seem to know how to do it! Do you have a secret?" Eager to know, he leaned forward, pausing when he realized it would probably be polite to introduce himself if he intended to pry out secrets. "I'm Thackery, by the way! Sorry, I got a little ahead of myself. I've been really focused on figuring this out and stuff."

BOOM BOOM BOOM Uh oh, he got zero point again.
He ended up with at least not total zero point but what's different so much between zero and one? But it was true that won one point relieved him.
He signed and wished good luck for tomorrow.

Molan hadn't quite expected so much energy really, but then, he was finding that many of the students were quite friendly. At least in his brief encounters. He watched the fellow as he replied, eyes narrowing a bit. Not in anger, just... calculations. Everyone seemed to have trouble. It was odd really, then again. Everyone else was so chipper, so friendly, and... there was the thing that seemed to add it all together.
A sad thing. Did he really want to say the trick he'd found?
"It seems... distractions are problematic." He replied slowly, a bit reluctant as he glanced at the current person playing briefly. "If your friends are about it seems to ruin one's ability to aim." That was about the only tip he had. Anytime anyone he knew was around he could barely hit the right ones, but if he played alone his score was always far more positive. He wasn't an expert, not by a longshot. But those had become his observations. "Apparently a clear mind is the trick." Other than that he wasn't sure.
The boy seeming to move an inch closer had the fox leaning back a bit, still watching him curiously as he spoke up again. "Oh. Right." Introductions were normal, though he often forgot them, or didn't even bother. "Molan." Was it really so hard to figure out? Just a bit of practice and maybe results would be better. He toyed with a bit of fluff on the pom in his arm's head. Thinking briefly as he looked at it, then the boil briefly. "If you're really that bad. You can have this if you want." He offered after a moment, indicating the thing in his arms. He didn't need another after all.

BOOM BOOM BOOMDouble zero, a most pathetic achievement in scoring, but Sin was back to attempt to rectify that! She carefully aimed and let out a steady breath, no hitting the heartless ones...which promptly resulted in hitting them all. Cringing she shook her head and wondered if she shouldn't just give up.

BOOM BOOM BOOMSin Err was not a quitter, oh sure it looked pretty bleak, zero, zero, and now a negative score...but she was determined to come out ahead one of these tries! She aimed, lobbed, and...missed....and missed...and...well she only hit one but at least it was a pink one.
