Alright, the basics of RPing are simply this. You are trying to communicate actions thoughts and words to the readers and other characters.
The easiest way to do this is
*Tso uses a pair of asteriks to surround his actions*
"I like to just use basic quotes for spoken thoughts and sounds"
Italics are good for thoughts kept to themselvesThe other way to do it is to Type it more in paragraph form. This way each post reads like its been cut out of a book. This is referred to somewhat snootily as "Literate" RPing. Here's a sample.
Tso looked around the room and thought to himself,
"This looks like a very depressing place. I wonder if anyone here really likes RPing." Tso consoled himself with the knowledge that all would be better when the great Sanu returned. "Aye Carumba" he spoke into the dead air. Taking a deep breath and releasing it in a drawn out sigh, he spun and left the room.
Both of these are simple and widely understood. For more in depth I suggest reading that guide. Maybe you will understand most of it now. (Don't worry too much about the Anti-Munch Section and just use your common sense.)
