[Third District : Merlin's House]

As Solaris took Merlin's advice and volunteered, the elder sage couldn't help but smile approvingly. The young man would definitely learn more traveling with this group than he could with Merlin. Besides, the wizard didn't really have enough time to teach someone else, sadly.

The curious Window, however, pulled Merlin out of his reverie with still more questions. "The heart of the world is just like your heart, or my heart. It is the source of life, of growth and energy, and it lies deep within the world. It is impossible to find it without some mystical means, and before you ask, I have no idea what those might be, besides the Keyblade."

With Nalo and Solaris' conversation drawing Window's attention, however, the yougn man began to speak to his peers.

Aerith was one of the first to speak up. "My place is here. I wish you well, but I'm needed here, to protect the innocent lives that arrive," she spoke, nodding lightly to Window. "Though... I do hope vengeance isn't a motivation. It will only lead you deeper into the Darkness... until it swallows you whole."

"Aerith is right, of course. And though I do enjoy traveling, I tend to run along at my own pace- I'm not sure you whipper snappers could keep up!" Merlin added, chortling as he did so. "But if all that's settled, I think you all should rest here for the night. It's getting late, and Cid has likely closed his shop. You can be off in the morning. And don't you worry, there's plenty of room upstairs!"

"Someone with no destiny is like a blank page with no utensil to write with."

[Traverse Town :: Third District :: Merlin's House]

Artemis remained silent, nodding when the question to continue the journey came up. He would most defiantly stay among his friends. The gummi ship was a foreign concept to him, but because everyone seemed confident in the fact that it would be a safe way to travel between worlds, he made no ordeal of it.

"Keyblade..." he whispered to himself with interest. The large key-like weapon sounded powerful; the ability to push away the darkness, lock the heart of worlds away from evil. It sounded like an amazing anomaly, one which the worlds needed.

"Yes, that would be great." He spoke up finally accepting the invitation to stay the night at merlin's. "Thankyou!"

Xelizar turned his head. "O-d-d..." He said with a wicked smile. "Yes, well, that's all swell, but let's not dwell, for I do not wear a cloak. As for you my toga'd pal, bending's easy; I could show you how." His prismatic skin shone with a shimmer of silver for a moment, before he stopped tip-toeing around the issue. Breaking his rhyme pattern, he switched over into an oddly-metered sentence. "Now, back to the matter at hand. I have some friends who I miss dearly. Have you seen others that can do this?" He motioned towards Moggie with the false Key. He swept it over Suzuran and the fluffy moogle and just as his doodling on the moogle came, it left. "I'm just going to doodle, so please, continue to talk, do you know, or do you not?" Xelizar bent back into a bridge and flipped back up with an audible pop of his spine. With some circular motes, and a sweep of his lithe arm, little patterns began to trace themselves into the bricks, millimeters wides, millimeters deep. Like a maze, playing out in front of him, he stared at it like a child, tracing the diverging paths with every long, thin finger.

~Window~

[Traverse Town::Merlin's House]

Window nodded assent, for both the answers to his queries and to Merlin's offer. "Your continued hospitality is greatly appreciated, Merlin." Although, he didn't see how there was an upstairs to this place. From the outside, it simply looked like a one-story, run-down thatched shack. But, from what he had seen, this 'wizard' was full of mystery and surprise, so whatever he did to procure this second story was to be no surprise. Merlin was obviously a great and powerful man.

"A rest after this...momentous day would certainly be appreciated. For those of us who wish to continue to other worlds tomorrow, let us meet down here just after sunrise. Is that satisfactory?" Window wasn't sure how much sleep he would be getting; there was too much to think about.

Solaris

Sorry...
...I'll be taking my leave now.

{Traverse Town : Third District: Merlin's House}

Listening to the last bits of conversation fade away, Solaris sighed. So tomorrow he'd be traveling the worlds again. He still wondered about why he'd chosen to go with the group, possibly because he felt comfortable with Nalo, possibly his boundless curiosity was getting the better of him, like usual. Whatever the case, he couldn't back down now.

When Merlin spoke up about the upstairs, Solaris looked around, pondering as to where the stairs would be located. He found none, but assumed that Merlin would have some other way of transporting them. Would they just teleport again? No, that wouldn't work if they needed to leave in a hurry, they'd just be trapped. So what would it be? "Thank you very much Merlin. However, how are we going to be getting upstairs?"

{Land of Dragons ~ Field near Forbidden City -> Castle Oblivion ~ Common Area}

Watching Shade go through the portal, she followed after him, turning and blowing a kiss to Revelin "Thanks for all the fun dear. I do hope we get to play again some time~" Then she turned and walked back through the portal, appearing in the familiar common area of the Castle. Looking around, she spotted Vereor and walked over to him and stopped just a few feet away. "We're back Vereor. And we brought my p...oh, sorry, he doesn't wish to be called my pet in public. Anyways, this is...well, I don't believe I caught the name of him or his mongrel." She said breezily, waving towards Shade and Fang.

"If you don't have any more missions for me, do you mind if I go rest in my room?" It'd been a while since she'd rested and she would need her beauty sleep before her next mission. She needed to look her best if she was going to recruit more pets.

[Nαlδ]

Nalo lost interest in Window's and Merlin's conversation. Most of it went over his head, but as soon as Merlin mentioned a second floor, Nalo almost did a double take. He was SURE that this hut was tiny. It looked to only be about 10 feet tall on the outside. The fact that it looked THIS BIG on the inside must've been a fluke. Nalo hadn't seen any magic this impressive since...well, never.

"Thank you very much Merlin. However, how are we going to be getting upstairs?"

Nalo wondered the same thing. There must be a hidden ladder and latch somewhere in the clutter of the house. Nalo stayed silent, not wanting to be rude. The fact that Solaris and Artemis both wanted to help him and Window; however, made him slightly giddy.

[Traverse Town :: Second District -> Hotel]

Suzuran looked at the newcomer and summoned her best political-poker-face, keeping her emotions off her facial features. You really did see the weirdest things at night. She watched in disbelief as this... thing changed Moggie's colors with a simple tap. The geomancer wasn't sure whether she should run away or what. She could tell that Kuu was already fingering his ring in case he need to summon his weapon but Suzuran was really hoping to avoid a fight if at all possible. The moogle easily decided the next course of action for the heiress in the way she responded.

So Suzu inclined her head in a small bow before once again falling into backstep. "It was a pleasure to meet you both, however, I really should be getting back, Mog needs to sleep, good night!" And with that she grabbed Kuu and disappeared around the corner, using her last bits of magic to veil herself and Kuu into the shadows until they reached the safety of the hotel.

[Third District : Merlin's House]

Merlin seemed to chuckle heartily at Window's words, and even Aerith seemed to crack an amused smile. "Ah, you're definitely new to Traverse Town I see. Well, you won't be getting any sunrise- Traverse Town is in a state of perpetual nightfall. There is no 'day' to speak of; only our biological clocks and the Clock Tower to keep us reminded of the time."

"Not to mention we're in a cave," Aerith reminded the group, smiling lightly as she glanced at Window. Though she was obviously teasing the young man, her face made it known she was only doing so out of friendship, not out of maliciousness.

"Quite right," Merlin responded, still chortling. With Solaris' question, he managed to stop, but not without keeping his sly grin.

"With a bit of magic, of course!" Merlin said; with those words, he waved his wand energetically, a bit of blue dust trailing from the tip. Immediately, the books that were all around the room began to flap wildly, flying in chaotic patterns, possibly hitting the people within-

"No! No no, bad! You- you settle down, this instant!" Merlin reacted angrily flicking his wrist in a circle- the books immediately soared back to their original positions, though one seemed to be lying on the wizard's head, which he promptly grabbed and toss into the nearest pile. "Sorry- I've got my mind elsewhere, it seems! One more time-"

With a final flick of his wrist, a glowing circle appeared above them, filled with light. Immediately, the ground beneath them all began to rise, and in moments, they found themselves in the (rather spacious) second floor. Scattered around the (magically) large room was an assortment of beds, all plainly made- there was even a nice nest area for Enyb.

There was, of course, no bed for Aerith, Youni, or Byoki, all of whom who had their own place in town. They were, however, still with the group; the entire tea party had moved up.

"This should do nicely," Merlin said, nodding lightly as he did so. Aerith couldn't help but chuckle slightly.

Solaris

Sorry...
...I'll be taking my leave now.

{Traverse Town : Third District: Merlin's House}

So the world is always steeped in darkness? Interesting. Was it always like this? Or did something happen to make it this way? Then again, what could possibly make it so that this world never saw the light of day? Maybe the Heartless had something to do with it? Or maybe it's just always been this way. Solaris pondered, intrigued by the idea of a place of perpetual night. He always enjoyed the night more, less people, much quieter. But he hadn't seen the moon yet, which was somewhat disappointing. Wait...maybe this world doesn't even have a moon? It's entirely possible...

Solaris was quickly brought out of his wondering by Merlin's actions, ducking down as the books began to fly about, batting one away as it flew at him. But soon enough the books settled back down and Merlin worked more magic. Looking up at the glowing circle, Solaris began to wonder if Merlin had just created a second floor, or if there was one there but it was being hidden. And soon enough they lifted towards it, and then they were on the second floor. Which was rather amazing. How it had gotten to be so big, when the floor below was so small, was astounding. There enough beds for them all, and Merlin had even included a place for Enyb. Very considerate of him.

"Thank you Merlin. I appreciate your generosity." He glanced over at Nalo and Artemis first, not making a move towards any of the beds until they had chosen theirs.

~.~Thales~.~

”You can bend it and twist it… You can misuse and abuse it…
But even the gods cannot change the Truth.”

[Traverse Town ~.~ Second District ~.~ District Gates]

"Hey, wait!" Thales called out, reaching out and taking a couple steps forward as to pursue the group as they darted off and disappeared out of sight. The boy cursed under his breath, then turned around to face the thing that had approached them earlier. Slightly annoyed that the girl-boy-moogle team had ran off and at the strange manner which this newcomer was speaking in, Thales barked in response, "To be honest, I really have no idea what you're talking about!" He paused to calm himself, afraid his annoyance may turn into anger, then apologized for his previous statement.

"I'm sorry," Thales began, sighing and looking away from the person. "I didn't mean to yell. I'm not sure how much of a help I can be to you, though. You see, I just got here myself not that long ago. Other than you, the man behind you, and the three we just saw, I haven't come in contact with anyone else." He looked up back at the person and smiled. "However, I'd be more than happy to help you look for whoever it is you're looking for though," he offered.

[Moggie : Traverse Town : Second District]

Moggie continued to shiver in Suzuran's arms even as the princess started to walk away from the group of men. After awhile, the moogle's shaking did slowly start to subside, and her sobbing got softer.

It was all a lot to take in, so much to register. And as the words and peices fell into her memory, filed into the places they seemed more mostly to belong, some words forced dim images into the forefront of the girls mind. Scattered fragments of something that looked important. Important enough to be stored in the first place.

"The heart of the world is just like your heart, or my heart.-"
"It's working! It's responding!...my God... listen! You can heart it beating..can't you hear it?! Isn't it amazing!? We did it!"

"- It is the source of life, of growth and energy,-"

" -With this- surely we'll stand a chance."

and it lies deep within the world.-"

"..you can hear me? Can't you?"

It was like when she first arrived. The silence; but then again she could have just taken Aeriths command for silence as absolute and as such, said nothing while she absorbed everything she heard. As everyone was making their decitions about leaving, something stirred behind her eyes.

" I wonder if it feels like we do? Can it understand what we're doing? Arch mage? Do you think we're hurting it?"

"-...a.hh...I..I'm sorry...i..it w-wass...a..mistake.."

"..f- orgive,.me..if you can.. understand me. P-lease...forgive me.."

"What is it it to forgive?"

At last she spoke. Head raising from the staionary position it had kept this entire time at the table. By then everyone was going to their own places of dwelling till they left on thier journey. Youni looked up at who ever remained there in the room still. Waiting for an answer to her question.

Throughout the entirety of Thales conversation with the others that had managed to find them, and the brief exchange of words with the odd man, Baitos remained quiet. He was only working as a guide at the moment and felt it would be best to not indulge in conversation on his part as he could interfere with Thales' endeavors. The young man watched on, wondering if he should say anything. To keep himself distracted, Baitos pulled his sword from it's sheath and reached into one of his pockets and pulled from it a cloth. Backing up to the Second District walls, he began to polish the blade's surface.

"Lu~lu~lu~" Baitos said passively with an sigh as he worked the cloth up the blade. His gaze shifted up away from Kodama as he began to watch Xelizar and his oddities. In a way they where quite enthralling to him, but hearing the audible pop of Xelizar's spine made him somewhat uneasy.

Books upon books flew about. The white-haired Vierra grimaced at Merlin for a second before he grabbed one that had attempted to clip him in the side. From more sorcery, they all were in another room, this time with beds. Nalo quickly scanned the room. He was still VERY tired, as his nap had only barely satisfied him. He spotted what resembled a nest of hay and straw and flopped into it, each strand tickling his naked chest. He gave a large sigh before rolling over to the edge and gently closing his eyes and gently drifting off to sleep. With all he could muster, he managed to whisper out, "G'night." It was wonderful being able to sleep so fast, even with all the weight upon him. It must be the fatigue.

You wimp. Asking everyone for help. You weakling. Run back. You aren't worth doing it alone. You don't deserve the chance.
