Alihi Kaua I've been toying with the idea of Nils using the flutes (or, in this case, a flute) as a weapon for a while, now, since I remembered one of my favorite types of martial arts was done with a stick and knife. x3 AND I LIKE MAKING AWESOME QUOTES 8D -makes mental note to update plot summary tomorrow- Flutes ARE weapons! Especially piccolos! D< Plot summary~ Oh yeah, I found this song today, and it reminded me of FEF peeps turning evil: It's Animal I Have Become; click if you want. =] (And even better, it's a ToS vid~)

I disagree with part of your post, though, Nilsy. How can Nils be over 1000 if the Scouring happened 800 years before? <.< I mean. . . he is Nergal's kid, and Nergal didn't have kids until he and Athos found Arcadia, so they should only be like, 600 or so.
If I'm wrong, correct me.

If I'm wrong, correct me. Huh. I thought that the Scouring was the typical 1000 years beforehand. And Chapter 17xx goes to a Nergal, Ninian, and Nils flashback on Valor, when Nergal went off to help his dragon-wife. I mean, dragons wouldn't last that long after the Scouring, and still be able to coexist with people. ...If Nergal didn't have kids until he and Athos found Arcadia, then wouldn't Athos know about them? Either way, Nils and Ninian are as old as the Scouring, and Renault is some age younger, since he met Nergal back when he was being all evil and stuff. Edit~: The opening cinema in FE7 says that a millennium passed since the Scouring. :3

It does? *scratches head* Thought it was 800 years for some reason.
But I'm thinking that Nergal met his wife in Arcadia in the first place, and yeah, Athos should know about them, but... I don't think it would have been earlier, because he only started learning about dark magic to get them back, and he started learning dark magic when he was in Arcadia, right?
And, Renault would have met Nergal right after his big battle with Athos (at least, that's my idea.) I mean, Nergal was in the middle of the desert, and he would have had to steal quintessence from whoever was passing by so that he wouldn't die.
But again, I may be wrong. *is currently looking at stuff on the FE Wiki*
But this conversation is fun anyway. ^^

*nod* Yeah, I know. At least it doesn't say that Kishuna is definitely not Renault's dead friend anymore. *clings to that theory* IT MAKES THE MOST SENSE DD<

Yeah, this is a fun conversation. XD
Well, Chapter 17xx, the one with the flashback, shows that Nergal was already a Shaman prior to the Scouring. The way I see it, he was probably one of the allied units in the Heroes' Army or something... XD
But, he knew his wife before the Scouring. And chances are, since Ninian and Nils don't remember their mother, she probably died in the Scouring, while the kiddies were sent through the Dragon's Gate on Valor.
This explains why Nergal was so interested in Arcadia: maybe his wife was alive and well here, since he probably found no trace of her corpse, but could not find her. So, struck with grief, he went cuckoo, and became eeeeeevil. So, he used quintessence for his own benefit and blah blah blah, and then he got to where he was in FE7.
...I can see Nergal living off of the quintessence of the Ye Olde Paul and Jasmine. Lots of bandits in the desert... XD
