If anybody, even my pal Hanzo, responds to my posts with a picture of Flandre and supposed dialog from the character, I'm ingoring the response and acting as if I was ignored. >.>
And I'll do exactly the same thing if any other character, Touhou or not, is used. C:<

Asuka Hayata I used to think ZUN's art was lacking, and that the fanart was better. Oh how wrong I was. I realized that as I played the games. That was ZUN's Word of God on how the characters looked, and to question it would be wrong. If anything, it's the fanart that's inaccurate. I wish people would at least TRY to mimic ZUN's style when doing Touhou art. It's like demanding that all songs within a genre sound the same. Heck, it's like asking that great artists make identical sounding songs all the time. It's like asking Radiohead to make all their songs like "Creep". As an artist, I find that line of thinking to be... Well, rather close minded. Almost offensive. Makes me want to punch things. I mean, seriously... Do you expect all fanart of Satori to be drawn with STUBBY SUPER SHORT ARMS? I see. I still consider ZUN's art to be the best since it's the art appearing in most of the games.

MidBossVyers But after it has been made into a stake, isn't the wood dead? Also, in the Coppola version, anyway, it was actually a metal stake or blade. True, but I imagine it is meant to be symbolic rather than a practical. The reason it is metal in that version is because...um...I don't know...metal is...hard, yeah thats it! The creator is trying to say life is hard, then you die. It is the rules that we all must adhere to while vampires seem to escape through fantastical means. Here it is being used as a metaphor for regrounding these creatures to these rules of reality, thats why its a stake...that almost sounds almost plausable... MidBossVyers I just noticed how many Touhou characters can fit into Clue. For example, Remilia is Ms. Scarlet. Lily White is Mrs. White. Now, who would be good for Mrs. Peacock (maybe Mystia?), Professor Plum (maybe Rikako?), Colonel Mustard, and Mr. Green? Never played the game, so I have no clue what you are talking about. Art between two artists should look diffrent, as each is their own idividual and should see and express their subject through their own indvidul perspective. That is not saying they have to be diffrent, just the result of their work should be a product from them self. Whether it is simular or diffrent to anothers should not matter as long as it is truly their vision. ZUN's art is his art and fan art is their art, I don't think they are competing so just enjoy each for what it is. Asuka Hayata I just almost never see ZUN style Touhou art unless ZUN made it, when people are MORE than willing to make Haruhi art that looks EXACTLY like an official piece. crying Well, that's mostly because it's an anime. Many use the anime as reference. As far as I know, no one tries to make Haruhi look like Noiji Ito's, nor Gaku Tsugano's. Personally, I tend to overlook anything that looks too much like anime. I like painter-like stuff, or amazing linework and perspective. Also: Emotion! Which is something those artists that try to make it too much like the anime, lack. xd this is the one I was kinda expecting lol

Parth Makeo Sorry if i think it's funny. The Walfas (old) flan is funny in my eyes as a "durp" character. So i use the image and pretend she gets out of the basement for stupid reasons in the SPAM thread Nothing personal, I just want to be responded to by a person, not a drawing, when I'm being serious. ^^; It was also late at night when I said that, I might have spoken out of line. But I guess I understand what you mean about the old Walfas Flandre.
