Atma311 Jameta *pokes the Cornbread* heart *The cornbread pokes back* eek blaugh Cronbread is an old nickname of Sio's. 'T' is part of my old nickname, T-Bone. And then there was Sausage, TV Dinner, and the Pink Power Ranger (Toy that came with the Meal). whee

*peeks in* I don't usually post in here, but since Jameta said it's mostly just a chat area, I came in to have a looksee.
*looks around*
Anyone here doing runic work, out of curiosity? I've been doing some fairly extensive study and would love to either compare notes or start up a thread.

Unfortuantely, my work with runes is fairly basic, although they are a wonderful tool to work with.

I say start up a thread- I don't know a lot about runes, either, but perhaps you'll draw the attention of someone who does. That would be a conversation I'd love to watch, since it touches on the whole sacred alphabet concept which really appeals to me.^_^

Sure, I'd be up for that. Jameta, where should I put it? Would the main forum be OK?
I haven't done a lot of work with sacred alphabets as a whole, Weben, but it is something that intrigues me too. The runes are enough of a work that I'm just sort of taking it in small doses for now ... sweatdrop

Well, good luck. I don't do any rune work either though.
I just hear rune and think "Look! The Futhark kids!"
That comic has infected me...

whee No question.
There's a lot of complexity to the runes, much more than there looks to be on the surface. I've pretty much come to the conclusion that using them for divination is barely scratching the surface of their potential.
I don't have a lot of available time right now to get that started, but I will get it up when I have some more time. Probably after the winter holidays.

My break? Non-existent. Then again, I celebrated Thanksgiving along with the rest of my Canadian brethren. Before Halloween.
Why are they on different dates anyway?

Presidential appointement. In the U.S., Abraham Lincoln declared Nov. whatever to be Thanksgiving; the actual date has been moved around a few times for various reasons.

In my opinion, Thanksgiving, along with most other holidays, no matter what faith or path you follow, should be celebrated as a season, rather than a single day. 3nodding
